i am a victim of jimmy he was a recent employee of washington cutters. i am in utter shock of what he did to me i am very sad that i spent my hard earned money for him to mess my hairline up. i went back to school in fear of the forehead grips people did not let me go a second without consent torment and bullying after getting cut by jimmy i felt like k!lling myself i can't take it anymore it's constantly too everyone is telling me to go get back on my barber but i can't because i have been left traumatized of the site of his horrible clippers ALSO while i was on the chair a rat started running and it crawled on my shoes. i like the other barbers but jimmy had to GO!!! read more

The barbers are great, or they use to be hoenstly. They use to be really good, but as of late, I do not know if the management has changed or what but no one shows up on time, even if you have an appointment, almost always the barbers arent there or they take way too long with others so you end up waiting for quite a bit. I've seen nothing but high rating for the service here and I figured I would bring my boyfriend a non-local to get their hair done before we head out for a big event. My boyfriend loves his barber and was willing to trust strangers with his hair. We came on wed morning before 11am. The barbershop was still empty they welcomed non appointments. He sat down right away the barber was attentive did a great shape up etc. I'm only taking 1 star away because we never went into their computer database and for that one of the barbers not taking care of my boyfriend told him in a not so subtle way to wrap up the haircut like he was taking too much time on him probably cause we possibly would never be back to this barbershop and two because the price said $20 and he charged $22 and he knew it was our first time there . no discount for first time customers or incentive to come back? No my boyfriend won't be a regular but could be have come back for a haircut, yes. Would I have recommended the place to another friend had they asked where to go? Yes. Well, I've been going to my one and only barber for the past 6 years and this weekend he happened to on vacation. When this happens, I usually try to find another barber, but there's absolutely no one that can cut my hair as good as he did. No one... Until today. Went to Washington Cutters this morning, expecting some mediocre haircut, something just to get me through my next haircut with my "real" barber. I booked my appointment a few days before and still booked another one with someone else at my barbers barbershop just in case. Got my haircut by Joe. Good guy, he called me by my name which he remembered every time. We had small barbershop talk and he was working away. I showed him a pic of me of how I look with my normal haircut and he matched it more that perfectly. Joe was precise and meticulous. He took his time to get it perfect and it showed. My haircut was perfect and my beard was shaped up so well it was almost unreal. The shop itself is very quaint, nothing really spectacular, but with barbers like Joe you don't really need anything fancy. The price for my haircut and beard is a little more that what I normally pay, but I can't say it wasn't worth it. I feel bad for going to a different barber than my barber of 6 years, but I think I might have to make the switch. Definitely recommending Washington Cutters!! read more

This place is the real deal. A classy NYC spot that's local and affordable. Great atmosphere, professional barbers and products. They use all salon quality hair care products and have licensed barbers who have been in the game for years. I've had 3 barbers my whole life, because I'm skeptical of the quality. Besides having a friendly staff, the place has a cool nostalgic feel to it that makes you feel welcome and relaxed. My personal barber (Jeff) never disappoints. He's got a vast array of skills in the hair business that he often shares with his coworkers and obviously shows in his own work. The cut,shave,style service is hands down the best. Haven't had a haircut this good in two years period as my hair went from down and bulky to swept back and smooth. Perfect fade on the sides and got a impeccable beard trim and line up. I made an appointment on their website with Gustavo at 12:00pm. As soon as I walked in to Washington Cutters at 11:55am Gustavo was waiting for me. Nice, upscale barber shop and shave parlor. The staff is awesome and talented, I've always been a regular with "Goose" and he's yet to have failed me. Excellent barbershop. The only issue is the barber my son wanted did not show up for our appointment, even after I received a call to inform us that he was not working on Saturday the date of our original appointment. We were rescheduled for Sunday. He arrived while another barber was cutting us, and he did not apologize for being late. My son was looking forward to this guy cutting his hair. Other than that GREAT job. And Thank you to the barber who filled in. He will see us again. read more

Terrible! So it turned out the day I had went in for a haircut and they had notified me that the barbers went home early (3 hours before closing), the barber was actually the one saying this to me. He straight out lied so he wouldn't have to cut my hair. How do I know this? The next day when I came back, I saw him there cutting someone else's hair! It gets worse from here. The person that cut my hair didn't even listen to what I wanted and just ended up giving me a haircut that was quick and easy. Miles away from what I wanted. He was brushing the comb so hard and fast in my hair that I actually was in pain! I am going somewhere else. Another problem with these youngsters is not taking business seriously. Re-instating to one star rating! Maybe if they would get grills out of their mouth, stop txting while cutting hair, cursing, pulled their pants up and actually followed the given hours of operation, this business would actually become a hit. read more
