Prior to coming here I was at another barbershop for about 3 years, but wasn't happy. This place knows exactly what to do with my hair and how I like it. I've also gotten compliments on my cuts on the streets of NYC from strangers (seriously). Pros: -Parking -Barbers are all knowledgeable and experienced -Prices are reasonable -Barbers are nice, place is well lit and clean Cons: -The wait ... the wait... the wait. This is the only thing I really hate. Lol I've waited two hours because I want MY barber (he shall remain nameless because I don't want to wait longer lol) -Cash only -No appointments Definitely 5 stars for my barber and my backup the two best. You'll know who they are because they always have a line lol

We passed by…read moreand I had been debating on a place to get my kids' hair cut and I saw how busy this place was... out of the 8 barbers (don't quote me on that number), all were filled and three were kids. I ultimately went in but everyone was so busy. Eventually, a lady came up to me. The place is conveniently located near the Cranford train station and across the street from a macaron place. There are benches outside for those waiting as well as one inside by the small cash register. They do appointments BUT she said they might have an opening for me in about 20 minutes. I accepted, was added to the list, and my son ended up getting his hair cut within 10 minutes. Not bad! I'm sure it was just luck though. I'm not sure what the barber's name was but he was pretty good! I don't know much about hair cuts when he started asking me about numbers and such for how short, but I ultimately told him shorter on the sides and half as short on top. The place is a bit small and with every chair full, not much room to stand, so I waited on a bench but I caught glimpses. I don't think anyone in the family has had such a thorough job done on their hair. The cut took just about THIRTY minutes for my 4 year old. He took his time and was meticulous, putting in the fine touches and applying what looked like 20 (maybe closer to 5) hair products. When he was released, my son looked quite sharp and smelled so nice! And his longer hairs were coiffed up in a way I have no clue how to even replicate it. I don't mind spending money if needed, but I admit I've never quite spent that much money on my own hair before. You pay at the cash register ($35 for a kids' cut) and I sent my kid with cash tip to his barber. I thought my husband was going to have some choice words about it, but he was also impressed with the cut and the fact that nothing was rushed. This place is legit and the two people I spoke with were nice! Our barber wasn't the chattiest only asking what was necessary, but I didn't get an off vibe from him. He humored my daughter who did stay inside by "giving" her hair clippings when he noticed she was trying to collect them. Overall, an excellent experience. Now I still have to find a hair place for my daughter and myself and it's turn for our cuts, but at least we discovered this one!

On my last visits, Fidel has been the person to get a good haircut from. It appears he is no longer there and his chair is now manned by Edward Scissorhands with a bandanna. I went into that place with a head full of hair in need of a trim and left there with a serious hack job. The haircut was so bad and uneven, that I had to come home and give myself a total buzz cut. Stupid me chose not to argue with Edward, I just wanted to leave! I am so angry and will never go back. Oh, forgot to mention how he held the electrical razor on the side of my temper and caused a serious irritation to my skin. It's gone down this evening, but you can still some of the irritation.

BIG MISTAKE. I don't know if the dude actually knows how to cut hair.. The cut came out SO SLOPPY. It is the worst hair cut I've received in my life. Yes.. I came in with hat hair but he couldn't spray some water on it to straighten it out? I told him twice to try it but he refused He said.. he compensated for the hat hair and it would fall smoothly after I shower.. After some back and forth.. I didn't even want to have him fix it. I'll be going elsewhere to fix it. $22 for a cut here is laughable.

You tell him how you want your hair done and he gets the work done on point (literally, because i get my sideburns pointed, and they are sharp every time, like i can stab people with it). The shop itself is inviting. The environment has a rustic feel that give positive vibes. The prices may be expensive, but it's quality that you're paying for. The major differences between TWD (the Wolves Den) and other barbershops are the skills of the barbers. The techniques they use to get your hair to 'fall down' a certain way so that you don't have to pay much attention to your hair but still look 'clean' will get you that end result every time. It's difficult to find a skillful barber you can trust with your hair. The guys (and girl) at TWD have those skills and qualities if not more.
