We originally enrolled him because he is a shy kid, and we wanted him to learn self-defense, discipline, stay active, and be part of a positive community. This gym has delivered all of that and so much more. From day one, they've treated us like family. The instructors are not only skilled in what they are teaching but are amazing with the kids no matter what their personality may be. They know how to celebrate their achievements and build their confidence on and off the mats. The sense of encouragement and camaraderie here is unmatched. They offer a wide range of classes that fit all kinds of schedules and interests across all different types of martial arts. No matter your age or level, there is a class for you. We are incredibly grateful for the role this gym has played in shaping our son's confidence, character, and physical fitness over the years. We are especially grateful to Professor Rich for everything he has done for our son and supporting our family in raising such an amazing young man.

While there, I…read morewas hoping to train a little and found that Renzo Gracie PA was just a few blocks away from where I was staying. Figured I had to check this place out, as my gym in CA is run by Renzo's older brother Charles! Before I left, I reached out by email during the day, and then was surprised to get a call from Professor Rich Latta later that evening. He was super welcoming, said I could come to class as much as I wanted and gave me the option of bringing my own Gi or borrowing one of theirs. I ended up borrowing one. All i had to do was commit to a reasonable deposit that would only be charged if the Gi not returned, and wash it upon return as well. Note: I returned it and they did not charge me :) This gym has a nice blend of Gi and No-Gi classes, and open mat day is no-gi based. When i showed up on open mat day without a rash guard (yes im a dirty Yes-Gi person), Rich was super accommodating and even offered boxing if i didnt want to roll in their Gi pants and my t-shirt. I ended up attending a class with Professor Padilla and learned some super cool moves I have already successfully crushed some of my home gym members with. Everyone in class was cool. Its a safe and welcoming environment. No meatheads or anything, and everyone was helpful. The gym itself is immaculate and they literally sanitize the mats after each class. I also really liked the mat floor, as it was a little bouncy (unlike the foam based stuff alot of other places have). Thanks Professor Latta and Professor Padilla for a great experience. Next time I am in the area, I will definitely make it a point to attend classes here again!

I started training at Action Karate when I was in 2nd grade. It was exciting to learn alongside my…read moreclassmates, and to develop skills from my instructors. I trained consistently until I earned my Junior Black Belt, but I had to stop when my family moved away. When I began my freshman year of high school, I realized how much I missed the challenge and discipline of training, so I decided to rejoin Action at a location near us. A few years later, I'm still training and now on the path toward earning my full Black Belt. Returning to Action has been one of the best decisions I've made, not only because of the training and discipline I've gained, but also because of the friendships and instructors that continue to push me forward.

Martial Arts Story of Giselle G…read more Giselle was born in 2013, the first child of Jessica G. Sadly, Jessica passed away shortly before Giselle's 3rd birthday. Giselle was adopted by her grandparents and is being raised by them. Unfortunately for Giselle, she has no siblings. Growing up with older parents, Giselle spent most of her out-of-school time with adults. About 3 years ago, Giselle joined Action Karate-North Wales. We hoped she would get to meet some kids in her age group and get some physical activity. Unexpectedly, we found that Giselle loves her time at karate. She is physically challenged to try new activities, interacts with new kids and learns life lessons that will help her be a focused, purpose-driven adult. Giselle is currently in the last phase of becoming a black belt. Although the requirements to do so are significant, she has risen to the challenge. Giselle has been focused on practice and has her eye on obtaining a black belt. As parents, Giselle's mother and I are very pleased with what she has learned and how she manages her time and the related responsibilities of becoming a black belt. Much of that success is the result of the guidance provided at every session by her instructors about karate and related life issues. We wish Giselle continued happiness with karate and best of luck in her goal to be a black belt.

So I started my free 6 weeks at Karate, over the time I started to return and like it even more. Once I finish up my free six weeks, I was asked if I wanted to continue and I said yes lets do it. Over the last 8 years its been a long and rough ride, with dating someone and then having to let that person go because of my actions, and then growing to become taller than my instructor, I still get told I'm to tall to this day by that same instructor. I have been through the covid era which was rough in itself. Over the time I have worked on myself and now Im going for my first degree black belt. Time to finish everything and get my black belt.
