Homewood Auto Body Specialist

Homewood Auto Body Specialist

Due to some damage to my car, I was needing an estimate. I called around to see how quickly and…read moreeasily I can get an estimate or two. Homewood auto body does not require an appointment to get an estimate. I was really appreciative of that fact and flexibility. When I arrived a little after four and walked into the office, a friendly man named Hubert greeted me and asked me how he could help me. . He immediately went out and assessed my vehicle and within 10 minutes or so I was on my way with a printed document for the repair estimate. Super convenient. Friendly people. And the parking lot was packed so that tells me a lot about the work they do and the reputation they have. Besides, their wall is full of accolades for who they are as a business!

I am highly dissatisfied with the service I received from Homewood Autobody Specialist. I requested…read morean estimate to have the entire exterior body work completed on my car. I was quoted and paid $9,897 in cash under the clear impression that this covered the full job. When I picked up my car, it still had scratches and an entire unfinished patch on the roof. When I brought this up, I was told those areas "were not included in the estimate." This explanation is unacceptable. For nearly $10,000, no customer should walk away with visible, unaddressed damage--especially when I was upfront about wanting the complete body work done. I am hurt and extremely upset and feel as if my money was waisted I had to take another vehicle of mine to classic collision which is were my insurance referred me to 0 issues and they sent me daily updates and pictures of what the were doing so if you would like a better option then Classic Collision is were you should go Although the staff at homewood auto was polite, professionalism goes beyond manners. It means delivering what was promised and standing behind your work. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. I will not return to this business, nor will I recommend them to others. Customers deserve better accountability and integrity than what I experienced. AND AS I STATED IF I ASKED YOU TO DO THE ENTIRE OUTER BODY OF THE CAR AND YOU FAIL TO INCLUDE IT IN THE ORIGINAL ESTAMINET KNOWING THAT I DONT CLEARLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WRITING SHOW POOR PERFORMANCE THAT IS YOU JOB BUT NO WORRIES I TOOK IT TO CLASSIC COLLISION AND THEY ARE CURRENTLY CORRECTING ALL THE INSSUE HERE IS YOUR WARNING DO NOT GO HER EVER!!! THEY ARE VERY POLITE BUT THE WORK ITSELF IS HORRIFIC!!!

B & B Customs

B & B Customs

There are 3 qualities you look for in a bodyshop; 1) quality work at a fair price, 2) timely…read morerepairs, and 3) good communication between employees and customers. B & B Customs is severely lacking all 3 qualities. I will give examples of each, and I'm sure you will decide to take your business elsewhere. 1) Poor quality at above average prices. We had a body part painted there on an early 2000's car. It looks like the painter used old paint that had already been mixed up for another vehicle. The color did not match, but instead of owning up to the mistake, they blamed it on fading; even though none of the paint on the door jams or under the trunk lid matched their color. They agreed to repaint it because it was an error on their part, but now it has been about 3 months, and every time we call, we are promised a call back but no one returns our call, or they say they need more time. Also, the employees don't wash their hands when they do interior work, so if you have a light colored interior, you can expect greasy fingerprints on your door panels, seats, and headliners. You will also notice your paint has runs and lots of the orange peel effect; it also doesn't hold up over time. I've seen home garage paint jobs come out better. Expect to pay for a bumper or door, what you would pay for an entire car spray somewhere closer to Birmingham (and yes, a $300 car spray in the ghetto will have the same level of quality as this shop). 2) Expect a long wait, not because of demand, but of laziness. Whenever you go to this shop, there are a ton of cars. Most of which have been there months, if not years. The employees are usually smoking, walking around, running errands, or shooting the breeze: it's a rare sight to see them sanding or spraying anything. They prioritize insurance repairs, and that's fine/understandable, but they are unable to give you a realistic timeframe for your custom/out-of-insurance repairs. What it boils down to is they want your money, but they don't want to scare you away because of how long it's going to take. Also, they only have one, poorly maintained, spray booth. 3) The employees are always talking, but it must not be about the business. You never know who you will get on the phone when you call; it could be the owner (rarely), the owner's wife, or another employee. Most of the time, it seems, none of them are there at the same time. Somebody will tell you it will take a week for your work to be done, and then you don't hear from anyone after a week. When you call back or go up there, you will hear that they need another week, or two weeks, from someone else. We have had 3 vehicles up there for minor work and that has been the case every time (I gave them multiple chances for redemption). The owner seems especially clueless: doing as little as possible to show any true concern for your work/project, never writing anything down, never communicating with his employees, and forgetting important details. In short, if you like overpaying for low quality work that will take 3-4 times too long, without ever hearing from the shop, then you may like this place. But if your project requires quality, value, professionalism, and good communication, go somewhere else.
