-Pass side underneath back pass door rocker. They only covered most of the hole underneath with the new metal. There is still a hole you can see between the straight edge of the rocker panel and where it curves up to become the pass rear wheel arch.
-Pass side underneath back pass door rocker. They didn't fix the hole behind the very rear brace on the back side of the rocker panel just in front of the pass rear wheel. The hole is still there.
-Pass side back pass door rocker. I can see sloppy swirls of fiberglass at the bottom of the metal over top of the rocker down at the bottom behind the running board. These swirls of fiberglass have been painted - they look terrible and it looks like amateur work not that of a professional body and paint shop.
-Driver side underneath front driver door rocker. They didn't patch the hole on the 1 side of the brace at all - its still there.
-Driver side underneath rocker between front and rear doors. You can see the rusted unpainted metal where someone had done a previous repair there before with bondo/fiberglass and paint.
I came by on a Saturday to see if they wanted to do the work and the cost. They advised:
- replace the outer and inner rocker and paint it on the pass side
- do all the weld repairs to all the braces behind the rocker on the pass side
- replace the outer rocker panel on the driver side and paint it.
- minor weld repairs to a couple of the braces behind the rocker on the driver side as it was in better shape
THey agreed to do all this for $1000.
I don't feel I got even half of what we agreed to because they did some of the repairs to the existing rusty rockers and braces and NOT replacing rockers and repainting them and repairing braces.
When I called them Thursday the week they had the truck, they advised me they weren't replacing my rockers at all because the work was going to be too hard. I knew I was screwed right then but I had to live with it since you had the truck and already started the work and nothing between was in writing. I was just hoping they would at least do all the rust and hole repairs properly. I mentioned what we had discussed about replacing and repainting the rockers and so they agreed to look at the rockers to see what needed repaint. When I came by late that same Thursday to their shop to look at the truck with them, they agreed to repaint the pass side rear rocker and I asked again if they were going to do all the hole repairs in the rockers on both sides and you agreed. They also advised the other reason they didn't want to replace the rockers is they would have to remove both running boards and they would be concerned they were going to break them in the process.
-the exposed fiberglass repair work looks sloppy.
They have really hurt my family financially with this because I am going to have to pay someone else to remove the running boards and finish their work. At the end of that day, I will still have rusty rockers underneath because I can't get back the $1000 I wasted with them. I don't understand why they didn't honor their word and do what we agreed - it appears it was too hard and too expensive and so they decided without consulting me to do it the easier and cheaper way. If they would have only called me to say they didn't want to do the rocker replacement because of effort and concern about damaging and having to buy running boards in the process, I would have worked out with them to still go ahead and replace and paint the rockers on both sides as I could have probably borrowed money from my dad to finish the job (i.e. if they needed another $500 or $1000). read more
