This is the course to go to to recover your confidence. It's reasonably priced, open to the public, very friendly, and has wide open fairways with few hazards and forgiving greens. Well established, the grass is lush in the rough and perfect for divot-taking on the main.
From time to time the heavily-subscribed course does shut bits off to effect maintenance, but they do their best to offer a genuine 18-hole run if that's what you've paid for. Competitions are on for members during the week, so check tee-times before you rock up.
The pro-shop, on the corner of Condamine Street and Kentwell Road, is well-stocked (though I curse that their great value range is not stocked in my size!!). The gentleman that runs it consistently friendly and welcoming; the fact that I am a member elsewhere yet he still remembers my name from my few visits is very telling. read more
