Overpriced everything, mediocre pasties with unsalted, bland filling, watery, flavorless coffee, less than stellar service. Nothing was worth eating or drinking. Disappointed. read more

It was busy, so you could tell that it is a popular spot. It is set on the river that runs through the village so you can enjoy your breakfast while the water slowly flows by you. This area and the cafe are beautiful. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Even though they were very busy, they showed no signs of being annoyed or overwhelmed. They seemed genuinely happy you were there and eager to make sure you were happy with your stay. We ordered the sausage rolls and a Cornish pastry and they were very good. I'm sure there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the place, but you would not go wrong stoping by here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

When you walk in it's overwhelming because everything looks so good. I was only ordering for myself, and it was a cluster deciding what to get. I went with an almond croissant and then also a blueberry muffin for later. It's the kind of thing where you want to order one of everything. Trust me. The almond croissant was very good. I really enjoyed it. I won't say it was the best I've ever had, but it was definitely up there. I usually do a standard butter croissant and I didn't because I was so overwhelmed with how good everything looked and wanting to try something more. In hindsight, I probably should have tried the butter croissant because I bet it would have been amazing. A friend tried some small cookies and I was able to sample those. They were also great. The blueberry muffin was also very tasty although it probably would have been better if I didn't wait 12 hours to eat it! Overall, you should come here and order a bunch of stuff. There's really no other way around it. I do feel that a place like this should have exceptional coffee as well. I got a flat white and it was only just okay The set up for coming in and ordering and then needing to move outside so you don't feel like you're crowding the register while you wait for your coffee drink is a little bit of a mess. They should have a better flow here or if they're going to have coffee have it off to the side or something. But it's really all about the pastry here and that's the star. The coffee is kind of and after thought anyway. Definitely check Ottolenghi out if you're in the area!
