The "repair" he did created more problems than I walked in with, and I had to pay over $800 to a real mechanic just to undo the mess he made. That's not an accident -- that's incompetence on a level that shouldn't be anywhere near a toolbox. And once the damage was done, he vanished. I was already working with Scott at Michigan Sandblasting and planned to have my Jeep's underbody sandblasted there. Rashid told me they could apply POR-15 afterward, so based on that I paid to have the Jeep towed down there. After it arrived, everything changed. Rashid started questioning the project and for over a week I was given the runaround. Multiple times Rashid told me he would "talk to Scott figure out a solution and call me back," but the call back never happened. Every time I followed up I got the same vague response and nothing actually moved forward. Rashid knew all of the details prior to me towing it down there. If this wasn't a job they wanted to take on, that should have been communicated from the beginning instead of telling me to bring the vehicle down and spend money towing it there. It's extremely frustrating to be told something can be done, only to have the shop avoid giving a straight answer after the vehicle is already there. Very disappointing and unprofessional way to handle a customer. I wasted time and money because they couldn't simply be upfront about whether they were willing to do the work.

It was Christmas Eve Eve last year (December 23 if you find that confusing!) and a group of us were celebrating a little friends xmas. We all piled into my friend's car to head to a store - if you remember, this was a pretty snowy, freezing weather kind of day, but the snow had let up at this point so we felt comfortable venturing outside. As we're heading to the store, my friend's car starts making some unexpected, weird noises and he pulls off into a gas station (that was closed) to inspect what was going on. Turns out, he had a flat tire and the air pump at the gas station was open, but we were fresh out of quarters in the car. As we sat there wondering what to do next, I quickly pulled up the map to see if there was a Belle Tire in the area because I knew they also have DIY air pumps for your tires. Lo and behold, there was one literally one business up from the gas station we were at - the sign was obstructed from our view by a couple of bushes, but we felt so fortunate that we didn't need to drive the car much further on a flat tire! We pull into the Belle Tire at 5 pm on December 23 and it was then that I noticed they were closing soon at 6 pm. We quickly ran inside to the warmth to ask what the best course of action would be given that they were closing within the hour. Since it was my friend's car, he was handling all the interactions with the staff, but through the updates he provided, I knew the service was exemplary! He happened to be talking to the manager and instead of the manager just doing the "bare minimum" and filling the tire with air and sending us on our way, the manager said to pull the car in so that they could quickly look at it to ensure that if they filled up the tire with air, there wasn't going to be any additional problems with the tire where it would lose the air again really quickly. Turns out, my friend's tire had a massive hole in it that would require a patch, but upon further investigation by Belle Tire's staff, that tire was pretty close to needing to be replaced anyways, along with the rest of the tires on the car. So the manager explained that rather than putting a patch on this tire, only for my friend to have take his car in in another few months to get his tires replaced completely, he recommended that they just replace all the tires now. My friend really appreciated that the manager and his team went above and beyond to fully examine the car and inform him about his options and the entire situation. The manager even said that he was trying to get his staff out as soon as possible to get home to their families given that it was Christmas Eve Eve and Belle Tire was going to be closed on Christmas Eve. So even though this would require a bit more work from his staff, he still wanted the customer (my friend) to be in the best possible situation with his car. This is truly some wonderful customer service and the manager even went in and helped his staff in servicing my friend's car as well so that it was finished as quickly as possible. We left around 7 pm - so an hour after they closed and spent a total of 2 hours there, but it was good vibes the entire time, everyone was so friendly and helpful, and it made a lasting impact on us. We talked about how wonderful of an experience that was for the rest of the evening and even now whenever we hang out and pass by that Belle Tire, we still sing its praises. I didn't catch the name of the manager or any of the staff that helped out, but from the bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you for all being so wonderful and going above and beyond in providing the best service ever. I walked back outside to remove my son's car seat from the vehicle, a very rude gentleman asked me to move my car loudly and abruptly before I could inform him that I no longer had my keys. Fast forward, 1:15pm I called to check on my vehicle to be informed that they had JUST started on it. I immediately asked them to stop because it had already been 5 hours and it should have been completed. When I walked in, I retrieved my keys and walked out to my car to find my gas tank wide open. I went back in and asked for a manager to inform them that I would be filing a police report because I feel as though the tampered with my car. Once inside my vehicle to my surprise, it was WORSE than when I dropped it off. Apparently they "prepped my vehicle and sprayed the door jams and now there are water marks on my ceiling around EVERY door. When I spoke to the manager, Paul, he apologized and told me he would do absolutely NOTHING for me beside clean my ceiling THAT THEY DAMAGED...and I could bring my car back and continue to wait. After 5 hours I received nothing but a damaged vehicle and inconvenience. I will be filing a police report and a claim in court for someone to correct the issues that they have caused me. I told my friend who referred me to my them to never refer anything else to me! They charge the same price as the Chevy dealership and the Chevy dealership is more efficient. This is what you get for trying to support small owned businesses. Go to Matick Chevrolet, they are the same price and will have you in and out in 2 hours or less.
