Elaine hardy, MS, RN, APN, C; is not just an amazing medical professional, she is one of those caring and intuitive physicians from a bygone era. It used to be when you walked into a doctor's office, they had more than HMO training, more than just the ability to follow HMO rules and regulations, there used to be doctors who actually had knowledge and were intuitive about your body and condition. You will find this once again Elaine. Over eight years ago, after having gone to a myriad of doctors and specialist, all of which were baffled by my condition, it was Elaine who was finally able to pin-point my issues and begin to help me work through them. By the time I had reached her, I was in fairly bad shape, unable to walk on my own and had a lump in my breast, most doctors were penciling in the death certificate but Elaine took a far more positive approach. She worked with my family to help us develop a treatment protocol which centered around my desire to stay as holistic as possible. She was sensitive to my desire to treat the cancer holistically and supported my decision, even though at times, I knew she was concerned. Elaine did not lecture me or try to force me into anything I was not comfortable in doing. Instead, she would lay out the options to my family and allowed us to make the decision that best suited my body. Elaine then supported us throughout our chosen treatment protocol. I still have clean cancer numbers 4 1/2 years after having a 3 1/2 pound, triple-negative tumor removed in a mastectomy. When most doctors didn't think I'd make it off the surgery table, Elaine stayed supportive of our family. In the end, I survived the cancer. I am still dealing with the severe neurological disease that put me in a wheelchair as a paraplegic but even in what seems like a dead-end condition, we are seeing small steps forward. Elaine worked with all my illnesses from the beginning, helping me to find ways to deal with the pain, looking for new treatment methods when the old ones weren't working and giving me hope for the future. She never gives up on you, she just keeps on working to find the answers. Her knowledge is amazing and she is willing to think 'outside the box' in trying to find the root cause of your issues instead of treating symptoms, something that is difficult to find in the medial field these days. She looks for the layers that so often are involved in illness instead of a short-cut version that usually keeps one feeling...just good enough, instead of great! After seeing literally dozens of specialist, I have never met another medical professional that I hold in as high of esteem as I do Elaine. No matter where we are in the country, we find our way back to Elaine. It is because of her knowledge and support in helping us deal and work through both the cancer and the neurological issues that I am here to write this recommendation right now. If you are seeking a qualified and caring Holistic Professional, look no further. You will not be disappointed in Elaine Hardy.

The lady who answered the phone today (I didn't get her name) needs to take a course in customer service. She doesn't have a clue on how to do her job well. It's simple. Treat people with respect. Especially being these people that call in usually don't feel well, as you work at a doctors office. Right from the beginning she had an attitude like she doesn't like her job. Really pissy attitude. My daughter needed some paperwork to sign up for volleyball at school. My wife who is Jamaican, parked her car to stop in to get the paperwork. My wife saw the ladies inside at front desk, through the window as she was getting our 4 yr old son out of car. As she approached the doctor's office, the ladies inside shut off the lights and locked the door. No joke! My wife then drove to the 7-11, parked her car and walked back up to the doctors office, as she approached, 2 other "white" ladies were coming out of the office. Apparently they unlocked the door for them. My wife then entered the office and apparently the two employees jaws dropped. My wife told them all she wanted was the paperwork for our daughter to bring to school. The employee at the front desk said she'll go in the back room and make copies for her. My wife said it took her quite some time before coming back with paperwork and handed it to my wife. As my wife walked out of office there was a police officer waiting for her. Apparently these so called "employees" or "secretaries" at this doctors office called the police on my wife. Why? For what? I have no idea. Maybe for being black? It's really difficult for me to believe this nonsense exists today in 2023, at a doctor's office no less. My wife is a sweet friendly person who never causes problems anywhere. Everyone loves her. She is always respectful. Which is more than I can say for these people that work at this doctors office. I highly suggest the Dr. at this office takes a good look into who he has representing his practice. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Please look elsewhere if you want GOOD care and people that respect you. I Do recommend Plaza Family Care in Hackettstown. 100% better service than this place.

That all changed once a friend recommended Dr. Merkle. I've only seen Dr. Merkle himself a few times during visits, as I usually see his Physician's Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (either Donna or Beth), but they are always on point and extremely helpful. I never have an issue getting an appointment (even same day!), and the whole office and staff are just wonderful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Merkle and his team if you are in the market for a primary care physician.
