I went on a Sunday because of a worrisome insect bite. The provider was a very rude and unprofessional person. Constantly interrupted me and then blamed me for the inflamed bite, saying I caused the problem by putting alcohol on the bite-which I did only once. ONCE! They then proceeded to take a blood sample. This is day 6 and my arm is still swollen, tender and black and blue from my elbow to my wrist. I am not a person who bruises easily. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They will also text you every day after your visit appearing to be concerned and asking you to make another appointment. My GP was horrified at the care I received.

Sure enough, I had the awful feeling Of a UTI. I knew I needed to get in somewhere and fast before the lower back pain started. Admittedly, I called another facility in our area but due to the amount of COVID tests they were doing that day, they were unable to see me. I was scared, upset and felt trapped ... Until I called Skylands and the gentlemen who answered the phone calmed all my concerns and had me come in that day. I was spoken to with such care and support, and was in and out of the office quicker than it took my pharmacy to fill my prescription. Not only that, but the doctor's bedside manner was impeccable and I felt so important and cared for. I've been to a lot of urgent care type places, specifically for UTIs, and none have made me feel as safe, cared for and respected as Skylands Thank you to EVERYONE who works here. While I can't say I will be back (fingers crossed I won't) if I ever find myself in need of care , they will be my first call.

She asked me about insurance information and she told that I can come in next day . when I came on next day, on Saturday the receptionist and nurse practitioner, Aaron rejected to help me initially because they "don't have a surgical supply", and later when I told that I would bring surgical supply and and I have all discharge paperwork where it was indicated that could do it by myself, but because it's on the head, I could not do it. The nurse practitioner Aaron was not very compassion and he told that without order from the surgeon, he cannot change a dressing. As a physician by myself I would consider such behavior of medical staff and unprofessional. I told them that just yesterday I had similar services in another urgent care without any problems. They told me go back to them. I am planning to contact with is a board of medical examiners of state of New Jersey with a complaint for such treatment me as a patient.

I was having severe ear pain, dizziness and a low grade fever. I have ruptured my eardrum before so I knew this was a possibility. Dr Smith was so thorough, attentive and knowledgeable. He was easy to talk to and didn't make me feel rushed through my visit. He was able to give me clear and concise instructions for the application of the medication I needed and explained everything in a way I understood. He told me how I should expect to feel and things to look out for. Great experience!

Our child recently had a sports related injury which required some prompt medical attention. When…read moreour primary care physician's office couldn't fit us in, they referred us to the Newton Urgent Care. It was a stressful time for us so we really appreciate the warm and kind reception during the check-in process. Although there was one other person in the waiting room, we were invited to the exam room within 15 minutes after I completed the forms or our arrival. The nurses (Geoff and Chrissy) who provided care were courteous, gentle, patient and prompt in addressing our child's medical needs. To alleviate physical discomforts, an option was offered and provided upon agreement. I really appreciate the positive and caring approaches that all the care providers had. The X-Ray tech Austin explained the process well and even gave us a view of the 3 pictures taken. The review of the result afterwards was concise, helpful and specific so we knew how to follow up for care upon leavings. By the time we left, we received a CD of the X-Ray, clear discharge instructions and a sheet of referral for the follow-up care. Many thanks to the team at Newton Urgent Care of New Jersey ~1630-1745, Monday, 21 April 2019 for giving our child and family in distress such great care!!! We hope that we do not need to return for your services any time soon but would definitely go to Newton Urgent again when necessary without hesitations. P.S. We did not see that provider. 1.5 hours after our scheduled appointment, we saw a PA. She spent less than 5 minutes with my sick mother. She gave some advice for my mother living with Alzheimer's that I found to be irresponsible. I prompted her to provide better guidance as my mother needed to hear it from a medical professional, and she did not. Very little inquiry about my mother's presenting issue was taken and she was out the door. She did not even check her throat or ears. It was a lightening fast and completely useless appointment. The reception staff went out of their way to be friendly and caring. The medical staff could take some notes. We were utterly dissatisfied and I will never bring my mother back to this Urgent Care, and I will advise others to steer clear. I have since checked the clinical notes on MyChart and there is completely inaccurate information. It said that the patient reported no fever or chills or sore throat. My mother has suffered all three in the last five days and it began longer than three days ago, which was incorrectly indicated on her chart. Had the PA listened better, perhaps she would have made a more thorough examination. We understand that there was a staffing issue and waited patiently. However, the resulting care was considerably insufficient.
