I no longer had the phone number they had on file so they weren't able to reach me. Suddenly realized I had never picked it up and half expected my clothes to be discarded or pay a hefty fee (rightfully so) for leaving them there for so long. Quite the opposite. They were on the rack as if I had dropped them off yesterday and the owner was just happy to have the business. This is just one of the many small businesses that might not immediately come to mind when thinking of those affected by COVID. Don't forget about them and make sure to patronize them whenever possible!

1 star This was my…read morefirst time using Englewood Green Cleaners, and the customer service left a bad impression. On the 22nd I got a receipt showing an invoice number, the amount, and "paid." When I picked up my items, I paid with my card and got a second receipt for the same amount, this time with a reference number instead of an invoice number. Two receipts for the same amount, both showing payment, looked to me like I'd been charged twice. So about half an hour after leaving the store, I called to ask. The cashier, David, couldn't explain how their receipts work. Instead, he suggested I shouldn't be calling him at all and should have checked my bank account first, as if asking the business about its own receipts was out of line. He checked with what I assume is their main office, but his answers stayed unclear and left me more confused. Eventually he called back to say this is standard and I was only charged once. I'm glad I wasn't double charged. But there was no apology for the confusion and no acknowledgment that two "paid" receipts would confuse anyone. When I told him I wasn't happy with how he'd handled it, his response was that he hadn't cursed at me, so what was my problem? That says it all. Not cursing at a customer is not the standard for good service. A simple "sorry for the confusion, here's how our receipts work" would have been enough. As a first-time customer I didn't feel valued, and I won't be back.

I have to say, I've been meaning to submit this updated review for a while…read more I gave this place a few more chances and, in short, after living in Teaneck for almost 4 years they are just wonderful! They are so pleasant and always available. There are no lines and everything is completed in a timely manner. It is absolutely worth mentioning that they have always been available for walk-in alterations (very often). They have done some amazing work where I've had to have dresses almost fully taken a part or adjusted (pregnant bridesmaid problems!). The integrity they have for high quality clothing is phenomenal. I had to have an embroidered gown altered and they provided me with many options for maintaining the integrity of the dress and solving my fit issues. They never want to gouge people on pricing and if something particular has to be done or shipped out or fixed they'll tell you if they think it's worth doing or not. I recommend them to all my friends who need alterations or dry cleaning services - near and far!
