After years of reliable leaf pickup, we hired Mendyk Lawn & Landscape for a larger…read moreproject--retaining wall, gutter cleaning, power washing, and flower beds. It was a mistake. They broke our drain, dismissed our concerns, and then refused responsibility when it flooded. We had to hire someone else to fix it. Much of the work we paid for--like power washing, gutter cleaning, and reseeding--was never done. What was done was rushed, messy, or poorly executed. We have spent more money fixing their mistakes than on their services. Save yourself the frustration--look elsewhere.

Kevin suggested instead of removing the tree, which was in good general health, to instead selectively remove branches that were overhanging the house, and to leave the remainder as a screen between our property and the neighbor's. His crew, headed up by Cole, did just that and we are very pleased with the results which have brought more light in to that part of the side yard. We called Larkin Tree Service again this spring to remove two small trees along the property line in the back yard which is extremely shady. Cole was able to remove them with minimal damage to my flowerbeds and opened the space up for which I'm extremely grateful. Prices were very reasonable too. We are very happy with the work and will certainly be in touch again should we need tree work in the future. Thanks so much! Susan and John Florence

They seem to offer the range of services I'm interested in-- maintenance, irrigation, and care for our well-designed beds and borders. Sadly, my two requests for a consult/quote remain unanswered, nearly a month after I contacted Whirlwind. Professional gardeners and plantpersons are a must for me. I've had crews who assured me they could deadhead and ended up topping a fothergilla in early May, digging out perennials because they "looked like weeds", and tearing lawns with dulled mower blades (hello, Laetisaria fuciformis). Ever the optimist, I'm trying again in this part of the state that values agriculture and best practices in the garden. Guess I'll have to keep trying.
