Ruchi is a typical fashion shop targeted at females. Everything you find in Ruchi will be for…read moreladies. Nothing for the lads although you might want to come in here and get something for your other half. From summer dresses to t-shirts to purses, these are some of things you will find in Ruchi. The majority of customers will be ladies which is stating the obvious whilst the shop owners and assistants are female. It might not be a Jane Norman or a Primark but Ruchi does have something for very woman and you can get some real bargains at a great value. I am no fashion expert however there are some eye catching clothes at Ruchi and women out there might just want to pounce on the bargains Ruchi are offering. If you are looking for clothes that are value for money as well as searching for bargains, Ruchi could be your answer.

I'm a regular at the Next Clearance store in West Bromwich and I'm such a fan of their bargains…read morethat it warranted a review! This store is pretty big with a huge range of women's fashion, from casual, formal work attire to glam evening-wear. They have a wide selection of the "SP" range too, which stands for Special Purchase. This is only available in Outlet stores. The range here has been much more impressive than any other Next outlet I've been to. They have great bargains on children's clothing, which are usually very pricey. And even the men's shirts start from under a tenner. Towards the back of the store they have a "Home" section, which is usually very cluttered and messy. Even if there is something worth browsing, you're put off by the mess. But if you love quality and bargains in clothing - this is the place to shop!

The cheapness is your payoff…read morefor spending hours rummaging through rails and fending off scary shoppers who will sometimes try to grab items OUT OF YOUR HANDS. The discounts are deep and the stock is abundant. This being Next, you won't exactly find anything high fashion or edgy. But you will find plenty of reliable work clothes and the odd nice frock. The majority of floor space is given over to women's clothes, with small areas for kids and menswear. They also stock homewares and furniture. You can snap up a bargain sofa if you aren't picky and are in a position to take items away on the day. This is no frills shopping.

From saris to god statues to kitchen utensils, these are some of the things you will find at Milans. Although there are some nice saris on sale, I'm not entirely sure whether future brides would buy saris from here. There are other shops on Soho Road that offer more in the way of bridal saris. And to be honest you will find better bridal saris elsewhere. Having said that the saris at Milans are good but not excellent and you might want to buy some saris from here anyway. That's just my view. I did like the god statues and I am into them. The majority are Hindu gods and they are well priced. I haven't actually brought any statues but I might just return here to do so. The shop is pretty clean as you would expect it to be and I may well come back to Milans in the near future.

I visited the…read morestore about a week ago with my mother, and was told that they will be having a closing down sale and moving away. OMG. They sell a good and varied selection of Asian clothing in here, and is the ideal visit if your shopping on Soho Rd. Everyone knows about this place and they have decent and reasonable prices. Over the years my family, especially my mother, have spent a small fortune in here buying Saree's and accessories that come in the most delightful of colours and fashions. It's nice how they've branched out to also include shawls, kitchenware, fashion accessories such as bindis, and items that you may need for religious worship. Overall a delightful store. Good prices, and they'll be surely missed if they were to ever leave.

Astle Park is a retail shopping centre based near the Town Centre of West Bromwich. The Nike…read moreFactory Store, GAP, M&S as well as Mecca Bingo are some of the outlets/stores you will find here. I have been here a couple of times and it is a decent shopping centre. West Bromwich is being improved further and New Square is under construction which should be completed in 2013. It will feature a Primark, JD Sports, Bank and even an eight screen cinema. So this shopping centre will have its competition in trying to attract shoppers. If you do decide to come here, you will need to pay for parking. That's of course if you drive. I have always enjoyed my shopping experience here although there have been times where I have been forced to come here with my parents. I do intend to come back here and there are so many bargains you can pick up from the many shops here at Astle Park.
Everyone loves getting expensive things cheaply. As a retail park in West Bromwich it has big brand…read morestores like Nike, Mark & Spencers, Gap, Next and Pavers alongside Mecca Bingo, a luggage shop, a bookies and of course the obligatory Subway. The important thing to note about these big brand stores is that they are all cheap outlet stores so everything is for less and they all have super clearance sections for the already reduced goods but at even crazier cheaper prices. Problem is you may not always find the right size or a jacket and trousers that match. It is however all worth it for the occasions when you can get a good M&S suite for £29 or expensive dri-fit Nike bottoms for £10. You have to be prepared to rummage and mooch, especially in Next for less. The Gap outlet isn't that cheap until they have clearances but it's always worth a check in if you are over there anyway. The car park is super cheap and alternatively if you are a public transporter coming from Brum then hop on the tram and get off at Lodge Road, from there it is just a straight walk down from the tram stop.
There's a moral to the following story. And that moral is…read more.. ...actually, I'm not sure anymore. Regardless, my visit to Glam Boutique was almost fruitful if not exactly conventional. I'm an A-grade snob, one of those snobs who makes out like I'm really not a snob because I sometimes travel by bus and eat Pot Noodles. Due to my snobbery, I wouldn't normally buy my clothes from a shop in Old Hill. Yet in the name of Yelping, I decided to visit Glam Boutique. I wouldn't wear about 98% of the stock, but I was surprised by how trendy some of it was. There was 2% that I would wear and had been looking for for some time. I'm very particular about my leggings - they have to be made out of a specific fabric and have a seam free waistband. I'd been looking everywhere for them, only to find them a 2 minute walk from home and for a fiver. Glam Boutique sold the leggings I'd been looking for! Hurrah! I got really excited and went to the till only to find that they don't take card. It was all fine, there was a cash point next door. I got the money out and returned to pay, then the woman said that they hadn't got change for a £10 note. She then sent me to get it changed. By this point I was slightly miffed, but at least I still had my perfect leggings! I got home and they were too small. The moral to this story is: try on your perfect leggings before buying them, take cash and make sure that you have five pound notes.

Staff are friendly as always and will help you if you need it. But I can't see myself coming here again just because Raaz is not the biggest of shops and I have seen other stores offering more clothes in the way of saris and sherwanis. The fact that no sherwanis are on offer is another reason why I will not be coming back. Prices are not overly expensive but they are not cheap either. But I would say they are reasonable and affordable if you have got the money. Raaz does have its competitors and in truth I cannot see it being able to compete with the bigger shops on Soho Road.

Faisal Fashions is one of those fabric shops that you tend not to notice when passing by. That's…read morebecause it has a dated, unstylish and cluttered display window with very ordinary unstitched outfits on mannequins. However, if you venture to go inside, you'll find that the shop front does it no justice. They have suits ranging from as little as £5 to around £100. They tend to be synthetic fabrics and the heaviest embroidery will be sequin or thread work. However, some of their prints and styles are very unique and eye-catching. The owner is a gentle middle-aged man who is very polite and courteous to his customers. His workers are equally as accommodating and offer great customer service. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for bulk suits to gift at weddings or if you prefer simple Asian suits yourself.
