The cook shop is now upstairs on the first floor this is great with hard to find cooking and baking stuff. Also on the first floor is the cafe/restaurant this is very nice and well spaced out the choices of food and drink could be a bit more varied but it usually all tastes nice. They also sell carpet, flooring, curtains and furniture.

I bought a second hand Jigsaw bag which I loved at a cost of £65 in September this year. While out shopping in town the handle broke at the point it is attached to the bag. When I had a look at the other end it looked like this would not last much longer either. I went to Now & Then to initially ask for a refund as the bag was no longer usable. Now I appreciate that this was a used bag but the shop bought it to be resold and I would expect a good quality bag to last longer than 7 weeks even with previous use. The owner said that after app 7 weeks I had 'accepted' the bag and there really was nothing she was prepared to do. If a refund was not possible I would have been happy with the owner offering to repair the bag but this was not offered either. I feel that having paid £65 only weeks ago an offer to repair the bag would have been the right & fair thing to do.

I've only ever really used their bath bombs as I find the rest of the hair and skin care quite overwhelming, but Beth really took the time to get to know what I need and has helped with a new hair care routine for me which honestly has majorly changed my hair from having to wash it daily due to it being greasy and thinning to actually being able to skip a day if I need to and it not looking like a bucket of slime! Upstairs is the home furnishings department selling furniture, wallpaper, lovely paint, lights, cushions and lots of other fun stuff pretty aprons, cake tins, cake stands etc. I think this branch of Laura Ashley have the nicest and most helpful staff in the whole of Chelmsford. At the end of the sale they always have great ex display furniture bargains.

TK Maxx is one of those shops where you go in needing nothing and come out hold loads of things you really needed. On the ground floor is ladies clothes, handbags and purses, all shoes, kids clothes, toys, toiletries and seasonal stuff. Upstairs is mens clothes, home ware, books, towels and luggage. To get upstairs you have a choice of lift or stairs. You will find loads of big names and some you have never heard of. I never expect to find great bargains but you will find stuff below the normal price and the choice is amazing where else could you go to find an orange frying pan? There is no toilet at the retail park except for the one in Pizza Hut and I do not like to go in there just to use the loo and they are not always open.

The staff are very helpful and suprisingly child friendly. I have often been in when my children as babies needed feeding and they told me to and feed them in the changing room. They were nothing but helpful and pleasant! The also sell childrens clothes at the back and you can walk thru to accesorise next door. A lovely shop, worth a look.
