I showed up with nothing but an eagerness to play, and the owner helped me get set up with some rental clubs, tees and a few golf balls. It was 15$ to walk 9 holes, and he let me use the rental clubs for free since I was only doing the front 9. The greens were well maintained, and the layout of the course was pretty straightforward. A few other patrons at the course helped me find my way once or twice, but they were very nice about it. The only thing I wish would have been different about this experience was only golfing 9 instead of doing the full 18!

The course has some areas that are rough with dirt and rocks, but we are in west Texas and not at a country club. I don't mind it at all, but have heard some people talk about that being their biggest complaint. In my opinion it's worth dealing with because of the relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of carts and nice clean restrooms and clubhouse. All in all it's a really cool and enjoyable golf course that midland is lucky to have!

The course itself is beautiful and generally well maintained, which keeps me coming back. That said, my experience with the front desk staff hasn't always matched the quality of the course. I understand everyone has off days, but a more positive and inviting atmosphere would really elevate the overall experience. I still enjoy playing here and would recommend it for the course itself. With a slightly more welcoming approach up front, this place could easily be a top-tier experience all around.
