    Burrito
    John P.

Newish to this area of town. I've seen them around but was never inspired to try until a co-worker recommended the breakfast tacos. I went for lunch, and noticed a burrito option. Had to try. Can't complain about much except for how messy it was. Nice amount of food, but almost $20 after adding a tea and tip. Didn't enjoy how messy it was and super flimsy utensils. I had to take a bath after! Haha. Birria was good, but not amazing. Also, was barely any cheese in the burrito. I'm definitely trying this place again, but going to focus on tacos next time.

This hidden in plain sight establishment, is a gem! I had always passed by and wondered if it was even good or worth a shot, until I gained the courage to try it out. As you can see it is very open inside and designs of the interior are a neat touch. The staff there is very helpful with the menu and explaining everything on it. We were quick to be greeted as the doorbell rings when you enter. I had decided to try 4 tacos AND a quesadilla. The tacos I ordered were the gringo (flour tortilla, shredded chicken, sour cream and cabbage slaw), barbacoa on corn tortilla, pastor on corn tortilla and an asada on corn tortilla. Now the tacos on corn tortillas all came with cilantro and onion. All the food came out quickly and hot! Most items were surprisingly really good, I could go without the "pastor" as it was pretty much their rendition on "pastor"; pretty much shredded carnitas with the paste of pastor. The quesadilla had the pastor too, which wasn't bad, got the good stringy pull of the Oaxaca cheese and the sides of guac and sour cream. Overall, for all the food and two sodas, I paid $24, which was pretty good priced, understanding I got all meat tacos, that were packed. Soon after a few days later, I came back and tried the quesabirria, which was fantastic!!! Super flavorful, not overly greasy and overall some of the better "authentic" places. My partner tried the chicken flautas which super crispy and decorated, which weren't too bad, a little dry, but they were super fried so I get it. Overall, I highly recommended trying it out, now I just need to come over for breakfast so I can get the full experience.

    Huevos a la mexicana!

Breakfast burrito was BIG! Yum! The service was very friendly. Came back the next morning for Huevos a la Mexicana. Food is HOT and fresh. Check them out Very clean place, too.

Love their salsas. The meat was dry but with all the other topping and ingredients I would eat again.

I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more!

They have a storyline to create a plot for the "dessert" creations. The pastry chefs interweave sweet, salty, sour, spicy, and umami throughout the evening AND is also paired with a drink per dish. They tell you how to eat the dish for maximum enjoyment of the desired taste experience. They do an excellent job of creativity, presentation, and combination of flavors. Such an intimate setting. After it's all done, they do part you with a BIG fortune cookie with a handwritten fortune! This is the time where you are allowed to pull your phones out. I'm vegetarian and pregnant so my menu had to be modified but I was so blown away by the fact that they were able to accommodate for me and took such care in making sure my plates met the caliber and intended feeling/taste of the non vegetarian dishes. Same with the drink pairings, although mine were non alcoholic, it wasn't just a blah substitution, they really put a lot of care into making sure the drink matched the energy and vibe of the alcoholic version. My husband and I loved the story telling that went with each dish that described the chef's intentions and the products used for each bite. This was our first fine dining experience and we couldn't have been more satisfied. We were celebrating my husband's graduation and they even had a little card for him signed by the chefs! So cute! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out for a special occasion, or if you're just curious about what a Michelin Star dessert restaurant is all about.

First visit we sat down with our kids while our husbands ordered and we were asked to get up from the table. We weren't aware that you weren't allowed to do that. We all ordered breakfast with coffee and drinks and as we got out of line from paying we all just stood there holding our trays because there was no seating. We stood for almost 10 minute and it was just not a fun experience. By the time we got a seat, everything was cold. Again if you're getting something to go, much better experience.
