China Meridian is your typical Main Street store front spa. I arrived mid day so you wouldn't think it would be too busy, but they were very busy. In the hour that I was there, there were 3 walk-ins, one with an appointment and a few phone calls. However, despite this activity, my masseuse, Linda, only left the room once. Room was big and a little chilly. I thought they keep the heat down to keep costs down or maybe they are trying to go green and conserve on fossil fuel consumption. But, they reason they keep the heat down is because when they are giving a massage, they work up a sweat and if it's cooler, they don't get so hot and tired. If they are comfortable and happy, as long as I get a good massage, I'm OK. After seeing Linda, first glance, first impression, I almost requested to see who else was available. Linda is tall and slender and a lot younger than most masseuses. I figured that bending over a table giving a massage for an hour would be to strenuous. But, never underestimate their ability to give a good massage. I'm glad I stayed with Linda, she gave a very nice massage. Too bad China Meridian doesn't have those bars for walking on back. Its been awhile since i came to this place, place was pretty chilly, considering we have to be…read morealmost undressed, my masseuse was female who did not speak any English, she mostly used her lower arm to rub my back same area over and over it did not even feel good , i asked her to do differently, she said "no English" i was gonna give up but she started doing same rubbing, i asked to call manager then she called someone, different female employee who seemed to be the owner or manager came in and switched with her, she asked me if i wanted deep hard massage, i said yes then she started giving me really good massage, she had to touch all part of massage process within the rest of the hour which was 30min, so she was rushing, still way better but i could see she was moving on quicker. Barely done foot, but i liked that she cracked my neck at the end and some stretches too She apologized at the end about the bad massage initially and then told me i should request deep hard massage upfront and recommended male masseuse. Her name was Jessie (i dont know if i spelled right) I will give it a try again with either Jessie or male masseuse next time But this time, i felt i wasted half of the hour with the bad massage
