Ryan helped my little wizard purchase her first interactive wand today in Diagon Alley! I had no idea the stores sell different wizard's Wands. I assumed the wands were only from Harry Potter movies. Well! Guess again. Today we got a chance to take home Serafina from Fantastic Beasts. A beautiful magenta colored stone wand. Ryan even gave us some history on this beautiful brown girl wizard ! Wands by Gregorovitch is a tiny little shop, much smaller than any of the other wand shops but it's also much less busy and you can usually walk right in and pick something out. Wands by Gregorovitch can be found in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios, very near the entrance. If you don't want to see the show at Ollivanders and want to skip a bit of the crowds, this may just be the right shop for you, future Wizard! A couple of differences I see though are that the wands from Wands by Gregorovitch are in plain boxes whereas Ollivanders are branded as such. Also, they don't carry ALL of the wands they do at Ollivanders! However if speed and ease is the name of your wand buying game, head to Wands by Gregorovitch for everything else the same! read more

Wands of Gregorovitch in Diagon Alley is swarming with muggles. It certainly was not any better that I came around the time of spring break. I was stuck out in the doorway for quite some time as the store was small inside with very tight spacing to maneuver to and fro. Luckily, there were helpful workers who were knowledgeable in the difference/variations between wands. They were also very quick at locating and bringing over the wand of your choice. Two types of wands were available: regular wands (blue boxes) and interactive wands (orange boxes). These wands were stacked very high up on the shelves, so there were columns and columns of wands throughout the store. I was an inspiring witch, and wanted Mad Eye Moody's regular wand since I did not want any trouble conducting magic with the Ministry of Magic watching. My boyfriend was more adventurous and bought Dumbledore's interactive wand, which comes with a map inside to guide you to the various landmarks to cast spells. Next door to the shop is the "wand chooses the wizard show". I highly recommend it! Upon exiting the show, you will end up wandering back into the wand store. read more

This is a great little shop to grab a wand, interactive or not. Ollivanders is usually packed so this store is a nice alternative because it is not in a high traffic location and therefore usually not as busy. The selection is as good as Ollivanders, just on a smaller scale. read more

This is a great place to stop by for wands. Everyone wants to go to Ollivanders (not that you shouldn't stop in there, as well), but this is off the beaten path and much less crowded. It is a small little storefront where you can sample out the various wands. They are on display and you can grab them and see how they feel in your hand. The staff will then give you the wand you have chosen and you are quickly on your way. They sell both the regular wands and the magical wands that allow you to use extra features within Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The magical ones are especially great for kids. read more
