There are two teams of seven players: three Chasers, two Beaters, the Keeper, and the Seeker. Harry Potter was the pivotal Gryffindor Seeker. While the Seeker is attempting to catch the Snitch, the Chasers and the Keeper attempt to score defend the goals against the Quaffle as the two Beaters have to bat away the dangerous Bludgers away from their teammates and towards their opponents. In the book there are both regional and international Quidditch matches. A version of the game has been developed for Muggles that replaces flying with running.
I love all of the shops in the Wizarding World at Universal. Along with the rides, they bring the books to life. Quidditch Supplies opened on July 8, 2014 in Diagon Alley. In the books it is the store where Harry Potter sees his first broomstick, the Nimbus 2000. If you look closely, the shops are filled with surprises for Harry Potter fans like the magic poster above the fireplace for Ron Weasley's for Ron Weasley favorite Quidditch team, the Chudley Cannons
This shop sells all kinds of Quidditch items in all four hour house colors, red, green, yellow, and blue. Show your team spirit with with a jersey, scarf, or hat. You can even customize a team shirt with your name on the back. A t-shirt runs around $35 to $40 in sizes up to 3XL, scarves $40, gloves $22. They also sell broomsticks, Golden Snitches, Quaffles, Bludger Bats, water canteens, board games, hoodies, socks, tumblers, plushies, banners, bags, pins, keychains, magnets, lanyards, and collectibles. The sweaters are made by Lochaven, a company in Scotland that made the sweaters for the movies. Near the ceiling throughout the store are trophies, statues, and other artifacts from the history of Quidditch.
Fans of the books and movies will love the immersive experience of visiting this store although be warned, the Harry Potter stores tend to be cramped and are filled from floor to ceiling. To get the whole experience you need to look all the way up. When you finish exploring you can access Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and Sugarplum's Sweet Shop by walking through the store.
