The stalls were arranged in the park and we wandered down them. So many things to look at. Some talented people and cool food items. Peanuts cooked right in their shells, hot sauces, cookies and meat products. Great stocking stuffer and gift ideas. Jewelry and clothing items, household decor and music. Everyone was so nice and I even got to meet someone I follow on instagram and try her cookies. I enjoy this park and discover new things when I come. This time it was a little library. I love those as I like borrowing a book and bringing one to give.

Great decision! Not too long. A beautiful drive to a place I've seen from I-25 hundreds of times but have never taken the time to do in decades of living on the Front Range. A great easy hike up a well-marked (and well used) trail that leads up to the fire lookout at the crest of one of the rocky outcroppings of the Rampart Range giving you a 360 degree vista of hundreds of square miles of that part of the country. The only really steep part of the walk is the final staircase(s) up the rocks to the lookout itself. Check out the pics (everyone takes he same ones:) and give yourself a treat by heading up there one day understanding that weekends won't be the best time to be alone). God, I love Colorado. The trail I think is the perfect length, it does feel a little longer than 2.8 miles out and back. I'd say this is a moderate hike. You can bring dogs on this trail. I don't think it is super friendly for young children. I personally would get pretty exhausted if I had to backpack up my toddler. But for the older kids it would be a good one. Definitely add this one to your list! I think it is my favorite hike I have done so far on the front range!

Twenty minutes later, she texts to confirm. Your spirits soar. You show up at the predetermined location with your traveling companion and Tara shows up with a couple of goats. Juno and Buttercup are seasoned professionals and they know what they're doing. As you begin to hike, the goats set the pace at a comfortable conversational jaunt that allows your weak sea level lungs to function at 8000'. Once I got to the location, and saw the goats I knew that it was for me!!! I had the best day, laughing, being around all the goats, a lovely group of people, and listening to Tara chatting and leading the group and informing us with amazing information about the Goats. She answered so many questions. I felt happy, safe and learned so much!! So close to Castle Rock, yet you feel like you are miles away!…read more There is parking for horse trailers, and regular cars in the parking lot. Several picnic tables are also right by the parking lot. We saw more horses than mountain bikers on the trail, and it was quite muddy today since we had about two feet of snow last weekend. There are also many jumps for horses around the space, and we saw some riders taking advantage of those. It warmed up as we were there, and we saw lots of birds, beautiful views, and the trail is super mellow. Many shaded areas under pine trees, which is nice when you would like to take a little rest break. Very peaceful area. We took some of the meadow trails, but mostly stuck to the main Dawson Butte trail and hiked about 5 miles total. Can't wait to go back again.

This is a spacious place that only has a loop (about 5 miles all the way from the start to finish) so you will never get lost there. It's got some shades so despite the name you will be able to rest and catch some breath in a shaded area if you don't want to be in the sun. The trail is moderate and is mainly sandy which I liked; it's not too burdensome for your knees if you have knee problem. We also saw people with horses and donkeys so there should be some horse/donkey riding place where they offer such service (watch out for their droppings on the trail!) It also offers beautiful views of nearby buttes and you will be able to take great pictures there. Can't wait to go back there again!

They were helpful, funny, and told great stories. They made everyone feel secure. At one point, you have to do a little bit of serious hiking to get to one of the lines. The elevation affects people differently and decent hiking shoes isn't a bad idea. You are basically ziplining in a gorgeous forest. The views are incredible. We saw deer and we heard that sometimes you can see moose (meese? mooses?). There is one negative: I have done ziplines in many places and this outfit was the only one which "requires" you to bring water. Most people end up buying this bag of cold water and a carabiner for 4 bucks when you check in. You can bring your own water bottle but who wants to zip with a giant water bottle strapped to you? They even had a jug of water available at one or more of the stops. Call it like it is: this is just a way for them to get another 4 bucks from each customer. Also, the website suggests you should not bring your phone. In fact, you can bring your phone but it is obviously your responsibility if you lose or damage it. (One person who ziplined with us actually did drop his phone, accidentally, while ziplining, but one of the awesome guides found it. Two miracles occurred that day: one, the guide found the phone in a forest and, two, the phone was barely scratched.) I wish I had brought my phone because the views were awesome. If you like, you can have some craft beer afterward in the little brewery connected to the zipline spot. We had other plans but the sharp-looking brewery looked very inviting. Highly recommended. This was a lot of fun and I would definitely do it again.

The…read moreplace had deteriorated something fierce while vacant, so when I learned that it had been purchased I was skeptical that it could be brought back from the dead. Boy was I WRONG! The Penrod family and their team have not only brought the facility back from the dead, but they have lovingly restored the historic buildings where possible, and brought new state of the art waterers, plumbing, new electrical systems, much better fencing, and a "can-do" attitude that is extended to everyone quite equally -- whether you are a serious rider like a jumper or dressage rider, or a trail rider like me, you will find your horse extremely well cared for, the hay is awesome, the staff is incredibly responsive, and all of my needs have been met or exceeded. I am so glad I moved "Pete the Wonder Horse" there and look forward to many years of great care and wonderful rides under the watchful eye of great trainers from several disciplines as well as on site management and security. I could not ask for more. I wish the team at BMREC a long and very successful run as the premier boarding & training facility for horses and the families who love them. No drama, just great care.
