That's our type of souvenir. :) They had really fun gifts and Christmas ornaments as well if you're in search of those. There was a pretty large kid section if you're experiencing cabin fever. They were just stunning. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately greeted by the friendly owner. They feature art made by local artists and also sell metaphysical items, jewelry, candles, and more. The owner offered a free incense and sticker with my purchase. The prices are extremely reasonable and I felt like I underpaid given the quality and beauty of the piece I purchased. The owner informed me that she would ship items if I ever saw anything I liked online. She also told me a bit about the background of the artist who's work I purchased which was cool. Highly recommend!!

We asked the clerk why the South Park characters are so prominent throughout the town of Fairplay. She said the town was originally called South Park in the late 1800s. It became a trading post and the name was changed to let traders know the town "played fair" when making trade deals. She said the South Park name continues because one of the originators of the South Park TV show grew up in the town and many of the characters from the show were people he knew when growing up. The owner of the pottery story has a son who is a big South Park fan. His vast collection of memorabilia from the show is available for viewing in the store's South Park museum.
