I am sharing this as a factual account and a public heads-up regarding my experience with Dancing…read morein the Rain Photography. I have used her as a family photographer for 6 years. In November 2025 I purchased a Black Friday package. In April 2026 I contacted the studio (through Kyle) to schedule the session for June 2026. The sessions primary focus was to capture photos of my grandmother with her great-granddaughters during a short visit to IL. On the morning of the scheduled shoot, the photographer contacted me about a family medical emergency involving her father-in-law and requested to reschedule. Because my grandmother was only in town until the following day, we ultimately agreed to proceed that evening. She arrived late, took approximately five solo images of my grandmother, and then her camera battery died. She left the location to retrieve her camera bag, which she later determined was not with her and was roughly 30 minutes away. We remained on-site, dressed and prepared, with essentially no usable photos from the session. We offered a battery from another camera on hand; it was incompatible. From late July onward I repeatedly requested a refund through email, providing the information she requested (including Zelle details and a copy of the original payment receipt). Multiple follow-up emails went unanswered over several weeks. After additional unanswered messages (including ones copied to Kyle), I filed a BBB complaint on September 15. That prompted contact. She stated the earlier emails had gone to junk and that refunds had been issued to others affected by family illness. She requested a Zelle payment request, which I sent the same day. Subsequent messages indicated her husband would fund the account so the refund could be sent, followed by claims of daily transfer limits and requests to split the payment. I confirmed the first $200 transfer. No funds arrived. Over the following days I sent multiple unanswered messages offering to meet (I still had items belonging to her) and stating I would escalate to my bank and the BBB if payment was not received. On September 25 she proposed meeting on the 27th to deliver cash. That did not occur. On the 28th she offered to come to my home on the 29th. I agreed and confirmed the items were outside that morning. She did not appear. Further messages that evening received no response. As of this writing the refund has not been received. I am working with my bank to recover the funds. I attempted to resolve this privately for months. I am posting publicly so others considering this business are aware of the communication and fulfillment issues I experienced.

When I first met with Cassie I had already pretty much decided on a different…read morephotographer, but I thought why not meet with her just to make sure, and by the end of our meeting I was totally sold. I have not seen the final photos yet, but we got to look through and see some as she was taking them. We have a big family of 7 and she knew us all by name when we first arrived (after seeing a photo ~7 years old and being told the names). She was very communicative before the shoot; she called and had a Skype conversation and saw examples of photos we liked. She sent examples of poses and looks she recommended. She sent an email detailing do's and don't's and how to prepare. She talked with me about color scheme and backgrounds ahead of time. She was very good at directing us where to go and referred to us by name, which really helped with the directing process. She also took our requests and ideas into account and worked with us on photo ideas. I told her ahead of time that we wanted a casual and fun feel to our family photos and she was very committed to helping us keep things lighthearted and fun.
