We used Kat to do family/newborn photos when we had our 2nd child. We hadn't done family photos…read morebefore and Kat was so patient and helpful with answering all the questions I had and letting me try on outfits she had in the client wardrobe to see if anything would work for me before the photoshoot. She had some beautiful options but I ended up going with a dress of my own. Kat is truly a child/baby whisperer and was able to soothe my 3 week old to get her to cooperate for pictures and got my shy toddler to smile for photos! We received our pictures within 2 days of our photoshoot and they are nothing short of incredible. We have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful and stunning they look. I would highly recommend using BK Rose Studio for photos and know we will be reaching out again when we need more family photos taken!

Bottom line up front-- BK Rose is Best in Class nation-wide and peerless...keeping up with trends…read moreand best practices etc. is what gets you booked. All stop. That means doing your homework. I'll help you out with gusto, just as so many have helped me as I got started on my own journey. Being on point on your self marketing, especially when you are non-represented, is non-negotiable. Failing to be professional with what casting directors demand is a roadblock. Submissions are "make or break" power moves. THE ODDS ARE AGAINST the apex storybook discovery tales of rarities like JLAW, Michele Pfeiffer, Charlize Theron etc. so if you expect that to be your way in...it's not reality. I get cast and work in these markets: NYC (Netflix movies), Atlanta (Marvel/ABC), and Mid-Atlantic (Apple TV). I am new to the business (three years in) but I have been building a resume over time and there is no way I am going to compromise because I take my career seriously. There is no slack given in a highly competitive industry with a dearth of roles and a surplus of talent. SO...if you want to crack the code, get seen, get call backs, get booked then there is no better photographer for any amount of money than BK Rose and Kat is my Queen. I get work in commercials, major motion pictures, network tv shows because of her. Fact! Every single person I ask that plays a role in getting cast (when I am lucky enough to get employment) has singled out my headshots as what is working for me to get my foot in the door. BK Rose unequivocally is worth the plane ticket, drive time, train time, mule riding time (you name it) to get quality content and ultimately get BOOKED. Not 10 out of 10 -- 100 out of 10!

Unlike a Big Box store that also sells refrigerators and underwear, Rode's is strictly photography. They have a very knowledgable staff that will take the effort to meet your photographic needs. They have new and used equipment, pro-level equipment, plus rental gear. Their prices are competitive with any company. Rode's has been around for literally around 115 years. It was a family business till recently when the o wner retired and sold it to some employees that had been there for at least 30 years.

So I had been visiting from out of State and I wanted a quick place to drop off and develop film…read more Prior to visiting the shop I had went to the store to pick up a USB drive as an alternative to having the scans placed onto CD's, because ideally I know could do this elsewhere at reduced costs. However, I had been overcharged with a total of nearly $50 for two rolls of film, prints and (unwanted) cd's. Sure, I can accept that costs vary from place to place but in this situation, I was told it'd be $4.90~ each to just have the rolls developed and so I was like "Yes! That sounds great.". I had mentioned specifically that I wanted scans placed onto my USB flash drive to avoid the cost of burning copies onto CD's and initially it was never brought up as an issue. I also requested to have one roll pushed during development, but the request was declined due to having the incorrect equipment (which seemed odd) so I humored the idea and just dropped off the film. The storekeeper asked if I had wanted prints and .29 cents a piece and so I went for it. At this point, he had never mentioned any additional hidden costs or fees, and told me to be here to pick up film within a few hours. So when I came back, I had arrived to two packages of prints and the storekeeper had explained that one roll of film (aside from 2 exposures) had turned out and so he didn't charge for the prints. He also mentioned that he had just "places the CD's" with the prints because that's "what they just do." And so I saw the absurd amount and paid for the film because I did not know how to react. Upon further inspection I'd discovered that I was charged for the development of the film (of course, this is expected), charged $10 for the prints that did turn out, and I was charged $10 (bad roll) and $15 (good roll) for the CD's I specifically requested not to receive. I was livid and could not believe that had just happened to me. I've decided that I'll never trust that place again with my film. The only redeeming factor for this place to even receive 2 stars was that the scans from the one roll that did turn-out ended up looking nice. I would hope that this review serves in preventing others from receiving the same treatment.
