Very unprofessional work. The owner, Larry, showed no interest in rectifying the situation, in fact, yelled at me that he couldn't do a better job on it. I had to tell him to stop yelling. A staff member stepped forward and said she would make it right and ended up doing a good job on the framing and handled it very professionally. The owner, Larry, continued to be rude, insulting and totally disrespectful when I picked up the corrected frame because he was so upset about having to fix his shoddy work. Pretty shocking behavior to say the least. The owner does not deserve to have your business when they behave so unprofessionally as well as provide such a inferior product and act as though that should be acceptable. It is not. I will be telling my friends and neighbors about my experience and suggest they not take their framing needs here.

I came here to get my artwork framed. However, I was told the canvas dimensions were off by…read moremillimeters and that it would look off if we framed it. I originally was looking for a floating frame so we didn't cover up any of the artwork and he explained how that would look bad because the canvas isn't even. He suggested we nail some wood to the sides of the painting. Mind you this piece of art is 4 grand. I agreed a normal frame would work as well but then he proceeded to say the canvas was too thick and wouldn't cover the sides while offering no other solution. I'm not sure of the name of the person I spoke with but he came off as condescending and was not helpful in figuring out a solution. I ended up taking my artwork to cjframers in Lake Zurich. They were amazing to work with and had a wide array of framing options. They helped me find a perfect frame that fit beautifully. They had plenty of solutions and were able to add a backing to completely cover the sides that the frame didn't reach.

We do not know the entire history of the paintings, but we do know they are over 60 year old. Each time we worked with Chris and he listened to what we wanted and helped us find the right frame. He did not rush us through the process, nor does he push his recommendations on you . He gave us the time to make a decision and understand our style. He helped us select frames that brought out the colors in the paintings. All of the finished products were beyond our expectations and each day when I look at them I appreciate the history and bit of family legacy it has brought into our home.

They did an excellent job of helping me work within my budget and the finished project was great. They stretched the canvas, framed it beautifully, and even left it open in the back so that the oils could continue to dry throughout its life. I recently moved and wanted to get a few newer pieces framed. Again, I couldn't be happier with the results. I found the right frames and theft held me consider something new: the right glass. I had four pieces and two of them were framed using art glass. In the picture you can see how much it mitigates the reflection of light sources around it and allows for amazing detail to be seen. It was such a great choice on these two prints. The other two I was a little bit more creative with in terms of the frames due to their location in my home. Both of them turned out excellent as well. They really have something for everyone. If you need something simple, they have it. I'm not one for fussy frames and they have a lot of simple frames in loads of colors. However if you need an opulent gold-leaf frame to hang that 17th century oil portrait in your living room, they also have you covered. Luckily there's a lot in between as well. You can expect professional, friendly service and good guidance if you need it. Both times I came to pick out a frame and drop the art off, they were working with repeat customers. It really instills a sense of confidence when you see so many repeat customers at a place. I guess now I'm one of them!

I told him the price was very expensive for a frame that size and asked him if I could have a discount since that was not 100 percent solid wood. he stated it was solid, but it did not it look it. The frame was made with plastic materials. The day I called to check if it was ready for pickup, he told me it was not done yet, but said he would have it completed in an hour. By the time I arrived, it was ready. I was overall happy with the look of the new frame and backing, but not happy with the price. I felt ripped off. I would have preferred a heads up, if I was notified the day before instead of last minute work.

Unfortunately, I needed to remove the original wooden stretcher bars located in the back of the painting just so I could fit them in my luggage. Fast forward 2 years later and these paintings still haven't been stretched! I shopped around and I decided to go with Art Distributors since they quoted me at a fraction of that cost of what other framing companies presented me with. On top of that, other framing companies told me that it would take two weeks for the stretch job. No, thank you! The staff was great and their framers knew exactly how to handle my artwork. Their service was very fast and efficient and I picked up my artwork within a couple days. I was very pleased at their work and I absolutely loved how my paintings looked!! I'm finally able to hang these on my wall to show off to my guests. I loved their work so much that I decided to bring in my painting that I purchased on my recent Hong Kong trip and I also decided to frame my Chicago Tribune newspaper the day after the Cubs won the world series. I attended 2 events at the Perkowitz Art studio in Grayslake with my husband. The first one was…read morerock painting that I have been doing for several years as I am a member of Grayslake Rocks. My husband surprised me when he said he wanted to attend & we both enjoyed the event immensely. The second event was in October to paint the Scary House. I had registered to attend with my good friend but due to unforseen circumstances she had to cancel at the last minute. My husband offered to accompany me as I had already registered & paid. We both were amazed this was not just painting a picture of a house, it was an art class taught by Tom Perkowitz. It was truly a memorable experience & who knew ? A Saturday afternoon date for this married couple who are polar opposites in many ways, accidentally discovering they had found a hobby that appealed to both of them & should pursue future events of this type. I bought paint by number sets for us & am hoping that more of this classes will be offered at the studio or may just create a paint party of my own with friends if there are no events coming up. I rate this a 5 & highly recommend this place to one & all.
