I actually drove out to Crystal Lake (from Buffalo Grove) just to check this place out, and I have to say I was kinda disappointed. Let me start with the Positives, and what I liked: - Adorable shop - Love the IDEA of this place, and the collaboration of artists. - Loved the actual items in the store - Girl working seemed somewhat friendly. Not pushy. But here are the negatives, and why I probably won't be back: - WAY too expensive for my blood. They seemed HIGHLY over-priced. HIGHLY. I'm sorry but i'm not paying $700 for your dresser that I could pickup at a resale store for $100 and re-finish myself for under a $100. It's outrageous. - Small. I guess based on what I'd seen/heard, i expected more. Bigger. The shop is tiny, thus there really wasn't a lot of furniture there, so it really wasn't worth my drive. Overall, what a really cool idea. I really wanted to fall in love with this place, and was really excited to go check it out. But i can't get over the disappointment of what it actually was. Here's my compromise: If you're in the area, definitely stop by and check it out! Maybe you can spend more dough than I, and will find a piece that you absolutely adore. I say, it doesn't hurt to stop if you're nearby! Just don't make a special trip for it. If they ever expand, and lower prices, I'll most def be back! read more

A co-op of more than 20 local artists/designers, this sweet little spot in downtown Crystal Lake is ripe for the homegoods pickin'. I was looking for an antique dresser for my to-be December arrival and I came across a few gorgeously painted pieces of 1930s and 40s furniture. Like an eager Gretel, I followed the breadcrumbs until I landed on Reclaimed's page! In the actual shop you'll find everything from handmade pillows to baby goods (I nabbed a recycled t-shirt bib with a Liger on it - score!) and a handful of dressers, end tables, buffets, coffee tables and the like. The style is mostly shabby chic, but if you're looking for a custom color or type of item, just chat with the owner, Brent, and he may be able to source what you need. Prices are fair for both the materials and design - expect dressers in the $350-$450 range, end tables $75-$100 each and coffee tables $200-$300. As with many antique-y items, be aware that the older furniture may require some extra love...sticking drawers, bowed panels and the like. you may have to invest a bit of extra time and elbow grease in your item. Regardless, I'm really happy with the way Baby W's dresser came out and it'll be a great addition to her room. read more

Hiring Brent's team for a custom coffee table was the best decision we ever made. The color, the design, the construction... Everything is pure perfection. We first hired a different contractor who totally ignored our design specification, added some elements we didn't want and blatantly disregarded our stain choice. Between delays from him being a total flake and promising to do work he never completed, 6 months later we still didn't have a table. Enter Reclaimed. We gave Brent our design- he asked a few clarifying question and made suggestions based on experience. We brought a wood sample from another piece of furniture we wanted to compliment and he recommended a custom stain blend. He quoted 6 weeks and we crossed our fingers that we wouldn't get burned again. We received a couple updates throughout the process on progress and then it was done- in the time frame quoted, at the price quoted. The finished piece is absolutely gorgeous! The craftsmanship on it is incredible- truly heirloom quality. On top of it all, it's a conversation piece as it was built from a reclaimed bowling lane. It looks like it came from Restoration Hardware except it cost about $3K less! Bottom line- they offer some cool refurbished stock pieces and they even sell high quality supplies at a reasonable price (General Finishes cheaper than amazon!). But if you can't find what you're liking for, don't hesitate to hire them for a custom piece of furniture! read more

We purchased a custom wood dining table and bench from Reclaimed. The price was fair and the table itself is absolutely beautiful. It compliments our home perfectly. The customer service was great in the beginning. Once we actually signed on the dotted line, the customer service went to "eh." And now...it's just terrible. We have been communicating with Brent since March 16th (yes, over 2 months!) to get an additional support for the bench. It has been me consistently following up and a bunch of empty promises to date. I am truly hoping to get the piece for the bench because right now it looks beautiful but no one over 100 lbs. can sit in the center. We purchased a new custom round table for our kitchen. We absolutely love it. Brent, the owner, was so helpful. Especially considering how terrible my husband and I were at the decision making process - this was mainly because we knew this was going to be our family dinner table for years to come. We put a lot of pressure ourselves to make the right design choices. He helped us decide on how to pick just what we wanted, from stain, to finish, to the base and was very patient with us and also responsive to our follow up questions. I had been looking for a new dining room table for over a year. All I was finding was either poorly made or looked like every other table. I wanted something different. I found Reclaimed right here in my hometown, but to be honest I would have driven much farther to find this store. Devon made the process of ordering my table so easy. She was very knowledgable about the products and helped me create the perfect table. It was custom made which took some time, but it was worth the wait to get exactly what I wanted. The table was delivered ahead of their original promise date. They assembled it in my home, customizing the position of the base to accommodate the chairs. (I also purchased the chairs from Reclaimed and love them too!) This table will be the last table I buy. It will last forever and is so beautiful. I love the feeling of the finish. My overall experience was amazing. They exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend buying from Reclaimed. They have more than just tables. We purchased a custom-made dining room table from Reclaimed. Based on reviews from a few years ago, it is clear they have refined their process to best serve their customers. I only have very good things to report about Brent (the owner) and his team at Reclaimed. We made our appointment online, received email reminders and were able to meet with Brent at the time of our appointment (no delays). He walked us through their process, their pricing and the decisions we'd need to make. He was available to answer questions, but also gave us plenty of space to talk through the decision. Once we decided to move forward with the purchase, we chose the size of our table, the style for the table top (one of two options), the base (one of many options), and the stain. What we liked about this process is it's a flat price per square foot, regardless of what table top, stain, or base we chose. No nickle & diming. Once the table was complete, Reclaimed contacted me to schedule a visit to their workshop, where I was able to see what stains looked like on wood from the same shipment our table was made ... we wound up changing our minds about which stain we wanted based on this visit. Reclaimed emailed and called to schedule delivery when the table was complete. The delivery guys were on time and kept us updated by phone on their expected arrival time. They exerted extreme care bringing the table from the truck into our home and were able to answer questions about care for the table. Reclaimed requires a 50% deposit and the remaining balance is paid at time of delivery. The only downside to ordering through Reclaimed is their wait times are about 10-12 weeks. read more

We have purchased 2 custom dining tables from Brent and his team and not only are they beautiful and holding up to 4 small children, but every party or gathering we host we get so many ooh's and ahh's and "wow where did you get this?!" ..... RECLAIMED!!!!! We say! I love being able to pick my own stains, woods, materials for the legs, and dimensions! Brent, the owner, seems like a nice guy. I popped in here a few weeks ago. There are some cool "reclaimed" pieces of furniture. In my opinion, it is a bit pricey. I bought two 12" tin letters for a combined $75 w/ tax...and I was given a discount. As I was browsing, I asked if he'd be willing to repaint one of the dressers that was on display to match the wall color in my room...he said that it had already been marketed in the current paint color and he would not. I guess he didn't pick up on my buying signals. His unwillingness to customize to the customer's requests makes me kind of uninterested to go back. I guess it's his way or the highway. Keep in mind, this place has re-furbished furniture, not re-purposed. They are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. read more

My wife and I made an appointment, called to let them know we were running 10 minutes late and when we walked in found the only employee still meeting with a previous client. Ordered a custom dining table from this company worth approximately $8,000 with the expectation that it will be ready by Thnaksgiving, ordered was place mid August and down payment was paid. Did not hear from this company again until a mothe later with the a new invoice. I paid the invoice and inquire as to the status. A few days later, I was informed via email that they will not be able to complete my order sometime in December. I picked up the phone and call them to let them know I was promised that it will be done by Thanksgiving. Do you know how they responded? We'll we can't do it by Thanksgiving, we're just to busy right now. Never knew of a company who respond this way. Our order may not be large, but we expect to treated just like any other customer. We ordered a table from Reclaimed, and were really excited about it. The top was made from an old bowling alleylane that I used to bowl on in high school out in the 'burbs. The bowling alley had closed, and Reclaimed had picked up the the lanes to make some really cool furniture, a table of which was on display in their Chicago space before it closed. After our custom ordered piece arrived we found it superficially to be really striking, but we noticed a couple of mistakes upon closer inspection. After contacting Reclaimed about it, they reviewed our claim and completely agreed with us. They then picked up the table and completely remade the top and skirt. The new table was delivered to us within 2 weeks. The table we have now is solid and beautiful, and we couldn't be happier with it. I've never had such good customer service - I'm just blown away by it. They obviously care deeply about customer satisfaction and their reputation. Reclaimed in downtown Crystal Lake is now Hollenberg & Co. This is the WORST PLACE TO BUY FURNITURE. We bought a table on Dec 24, 2017. We needed a small amount of custom work done on it that we were told would take a week or two. It is now April 7 and the table is not ready yet. We have called multiple times and been told someone would call us back. In over 3 months since we bought this table nobody from this store has ever called us about anything. I just stopped by the warehouse where the table is supposed to be to have the work done to it and it is not there. I was told Brent, the production manager, was going to talk to me about what happened and then I was told he was too busy to talk to me but they would deliver it for free. That doesn't mean much since I live 3 miles away and have a pickup truck and two teenagers. We live in Crystal Lake and are advocates for local shopping whenever possible. Not with service like this! Do not shop here unless you want to be treated like garbage. Lots of style, no substance. Have to give one star to give a review but zero stars from me. read more

I searched for the perfect end table for my newly decorated family room, and decided to give Reclaimed a try. Cute shop, very helpful sales rep, and there are definitely some unique and interesting pieces, although very pricey. The problem is, most every piece of furniture is already painted by the shop owner, and believe me, it's not professional, and the pastel chalk paint has no place in my home. He would be much better off leaving the furniture alone and letting the buyer have it refinished per their own specs, so not only did I pay a high price for the table, I also forked out additional cash to have it refinished. Worked out for the best because the paint that was used on the table literally came off with water. Happy to have found a unique piece, but that will be my last visit to Reclaimed. Oh, did I mention that the pricey table with the terrible paint job was non-negotiable? read more
