The Fairport library is located in the Fairport Village Landing - a plaza with many other…read morebusinesses and shared parking. Take the stairwell or elevator to the ground floor to enter the library. Once you're inside, you'll forget you're in a retail plaza. This was my first time here and I noticed large sections for children and teens, a quiet room, a nice selection of foreign films, a whole shelf of Hallmark movies, five big shelves of large print books for those of us with bad eyesight, and a lot of comfy places to sit. You can even check out a tote bag to bring your items home! If you walk by the library on the canal side, you can see in to the cozy reading area where the windows are lined with books. This is a welcoming and well stocked library that I will definitely return to.

The Penfield Public Library has a wonderful selection of materials to choose from and the staff are…read morealways helpful when I have questions. I enjoy this library for the materials but also for the wonderful events they host. This year I attended a very informative lecture on mushroom and foraging. Most recently I attended a book signing and talk with Best selling author Shelby Van Pelt. The event was quite large with 400 people in attendance but the staff did a great job setting everything up and running smoothly. Shelby Van Pelt gave an engaging lecture followed by audience Q&A. We had time afterwards to get our books signed and meet the author. The library also had complimentary water and cookies to end the evening. One of my favorite libraries in the area. I hope there will be more events to come.

We come here quite a bit with our three year old and he loves it. They don't have a ton of toys,…read morebut they have a train table, a little kitchen area, some puzzles, and a Lego area. I do love that they do events though!

The entire library is a wide open space, I wish there was a more private children's section to allow them to be a little louder. Good amount of toys for the kids to play with while I pick out books.
