The property sits on a river, is well maintained with a gazebo, bbqs decorated picnic tables, chairs of all types, kayaks and canoes to rent and adorable cottages. Absolutely unacceptable customer service!…read more I call to make TWO RV reservations for June 26th, since there is NO way to reserve online. I call at 8:30am and I am told to call back after 11. However, I was surprised there was no central sanitary dump as I assumed and most reputable camp grounds that offer RV sites always have a dump station regardless of individual site connections. You should know that if you need to dump your RV tanks and reserve a partial hookup site, they will charge you $20 to use one of the full hookup sites sanitary dump. If those full hookup sites are full you are shit out of luck. Also know the laundry facility is $10 for the room key. Machines are no cost (if they work). So do as many loads as you can. Bathrooms are relatively clean. Expect to wait a while if the park is full as there is only one shower. Opps! Beware of charges to your credit card. There are many review comments abroad about this facility potentially scamming customers with faulty or dishonest charges without their permission. Check and double check your current and pending charges on your card (before and after) leaving the resort. Websites can be deceiving: Resort website says Crater Lake is 7 -8 miles (not correct) from resort as well as 30 minutes. It's actually approx. 22 miles. Not a big deal but that should really be reflected honestly. Note to business owner Matthew: Lots of negative or oddly worded back comments from him to those customers with less than positive reviews. Thats definately not a good look. And yes, people do read them and make decisions based on those negative reviews. The ladies at the front desk: Wow, I had to walk on egg shells. One was complaining about another customer when I entered the door. Again, not a good look. It seemed as though they both were bothered by check-ins. Love the community pizza oven and gas grill. Did not get a chance to use them. This is a great place for your dog to romp in the grass Nearest grocery store is 8-9 miles away. The Resort Store has some dry goods; canned junk and frozen things. So be sure to come prepared. Especially if you want to eat healthy nutritional.

We stayed here for one night and checked in after hours. The environment itself is beautiful,…read morequiet, rustic, and surrounded by nature, but there were some serious gaps in communication that affected our stay. The on-site store had very limited essentials and only accepted cash. We were told the card machine was down, but another family checking out after a multi-day stay said it had been broken the entire time. There was no prior notice about the cash-only setup, not even an email, and that made things unnecessarily difficult for travelers just passing through. The mosquitoes were relentless. My sister, who is allergic, got bitten all over within minutes. There was no warning or signage about the bug situation and no repellents or advice offered during check-in. We ended up buying Benadryl and bug spray from the store, which thankfully helped, but it was expensive and wiped out all the cash we had. The man working at the store was incredibly kind and tried his best to help us, which we really appreciated. Inside the cabin, the space was cute and cozy but basic. There weren't many toiletries provided, so definitely bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. That said, we were really happy to have an oven and a sink, which gave us the option to cook and clean on our own. After days of road trip meals and takeout, that felt like a luxury. We also saw birds foraging near the cabin and got to canoe on the creek for free. That ended up being one of the most peaceful and memorable parts of our trip. My mom and I shared a quiet moment on the water that made the visit feel special in spite of the rough patches. This place has a lot of potential and could be great for people who arrive fully stocked and prepared. With better communication about the cash policy, mosquitoes, and what amenities are or aren't included, it could be much more welcoming for short-term visitors.

The continental breakfast was a little more substantial than I would have thought for a small hotel/motel like this. The rooms are decently clean, but definitely aged. Normally, if I needed it, I'd ask for a late checkout, but I had to be somewhere at noon. I wasn't expecting to hop on a video conference right before the 11am check out but I figured I could use the WiFi and run a few minutes over. Apparently, one woman was so anal, she knocked on our door right at 11 and gave me a dirty look when I told her I needed a minute. When I realized the call was going to be much longer than expected, I left at maybe 11:07. Then around 11:30, I got another call asking when I'd be out of the room...after I already left. When I said I had left just a few minutes after she had come by, it was as if she didn't believe me. It was just an odd interaction to conclude a long drive from Washington on the way back to California after an already long week. I think I'll choose another hotel next time. This one just seemed convenient for my appointment. Again, the rest of the staff was very courteous, just not this woman.

My wife stood at the front desk for several minutes thinking someone was coming. Then she realized there was a young lady sitting and reading a book as the desk was high. She said "Oh hello" to which the person kept reading. She then asked if it was too early to check in to which the young gal sneered and said emphatically "Yes" and then called continued to read without standing or anything. We left and came back at 3:30pm and asked a kind young man if it was possible to check in and he relayed they would not check us in till 4:30. Which seems quite late as the lodge is fully booked. We asked if we could leave our luggage as we had dinner reservations at that time in the dining room. He went and checked but said no we could not so we took our luggage back to the car which was okay. There were many people waiting to check in at 4:30pm so it will be a line waiting which seems quite pointless as one might know when rooms are ready and then gradually check folks in as there room is ready. The lodge is fully booked. Dinner was very nice and calm. Portions for the duck were about 4 ounces of meat so I would get steak or fettuccine. Prices are $14 per glass of wine and $35-58 for food. There was still ambiance was nice. There was still a crowd waiting to check in after 5:30pm and rooms were still not ready. We did finally get our room which had no towels at all. I went on a hunt for the cleaning cart and got my own as the cleaner was not to be seen. Definitely bring multi plugs with you as there are no plugs available at bedside as the lamps take them all. The stars at night are fantastic and a must see. The stay was still nice and the lodge is beautiful with nice fireplaces to sit at. Comfortable chairs throughout the lodge area. A lot of history. The rest of the staff smiled. Much of the negative could be fixed with a manager who is managing and pitching in where there were one deep positions. No manager was observed as couples and families waited hours for rooms that were not ready. This location is surviving by location alone as there is no other option The staff are sparse because their dormitories are under repair and many are commuting over 40 minutes to/from dorms so I can understand the short staffing. One would think a good contract would fix these issues quickly.

There's a restaurant and bar on the main floor. Room is reasonably comfortable. View from the room was great. The not great: the heaters seem to be permanently on, and you have no control over them so we had to leave the windows open the entire time we were there. Our room faced the lake, so many people gathered below. It generally wasn't a problem, except for when loud people were down there in the middle of the night. Also, the heaters turn on and off constantly at night, and the jolting noise kept waking us up, it helped a little leaving a fan on all night. Definitely bring ear plugs. There's no vegan options in the dining room so we brought a cooler and all the food we needed for the entire 3 nights. A meal in the lodge would have been fun. I might stay in the lodge again. I would probably get a room that faced the parking lot next time. I would definitely bring ear plugs too.
