But if you are looking for a cute, one of a kind place to camp, come to Heartline Ranch. The camp offers tipis that to stay in, with sleeping bags and pillows provided. You can even have a campfire in the middle of your tipi! If you have horses, you can board them also, or take a guided trail ride. Located 30 minutes outside of Crater Lake National Park, it's a great place to stay if you want to camp without the hassle of setting and taking down your tent There are few things that I would have changed. Instead of the folding cushions they use as mattresses, I would have preferred a real camp mattress. I am also not a huge fan of port a potties, but they do keep them clean as possible. Honestly, the lack of plumbing is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. They have a shower setup and after a day of hiking, it felt wonderful. While I felt it was a little expensive, I would still go back and stay again.

The Tee Pees were really well received by my 4, 9 and 13 yr olds. They have 5ish couch like pillows or mattresses which I slept on great! The hosts delivered wood, opened the smoke hole thingy on the Tee Pee and left is alone! I don't like helicopter hosts so that was great. They give you their phone number and tell you to call if you want any thing or have any questions. I had great cell service the whole time. There were wild strawberry bushes with flowers all over... in a few weeks campers will find a ton of fresh, wild strawberries (June 20). The hosts gave me a mosquito repellant ring to burn for mosquitos but I never used it. We did get attached for about 30-60 minutes which is typical in Oregon woods but it was not overwhelming. Proper long clothing and some good mosquito spray will do the trick. We used organic, natural chemical free bug sticks and sprays because my wife doesn't want to give the kids cancer and of course it didn't help us at all... so we got a few bites and have a low chance of getting cancer! If a few bug bites are a deal breaker camp in a hotel! I'm not a cowboy but I did care for and trail ride horses in high school. I felt like the horse riding was very safe and very considerate of their horses (one horse had a sore frog [rock bruise] so they decided that horse would not be rode). I felt like the horses are cared for like part of the family... which is good. A criticism - It's a family run business so if you have an itinerary that has every minute counted for you'd better free up some time for some inefficient horse prep! I wouldn't schedule dinner with the Crater Lake Lodge for 6PM if you have a 2hr ride scheduled at 3PM.. I'd schedule for 8PM and have a beer/ glass of wine while making up the time difference. From our unit we had a view of holes 10 & 18 of the Arnold Palmer Signature Running Y golf course. Each unit its own bbq grill out on the deck. The one bedroom is very spacious. It has all the comforts of home. Washer & dryer; dishwasher, etc. The only con - the televisions are small. 36" in living area and 26" in the bedroom. Worldmark Wyndham Running Y shares property with the Running Y Ranch Resort located in the Klamath Basin. Outdoor parking lot. Elevator and stairs. We would have enjoyed ourselves more had the weather been warmer. It's still winter with lows in the 30's and highs the high 50's most days.

I used Hilton Honors points to book but it got dark on me & I am not down to drive during night through woods in winter weather. So I checked at Running Y & got a Great price for 2bedroom 2bth suite, fully stocked kitchen & balcony. 2 night minimum & I was happy! Instacart delivers here! All staff members are so VERY kind & helpful. Shannon, Mackenzie, Issac & the 2 gentlemen at the Sport's Center, along with pool facilities staff. Personable, down to earth GEMS with impeccable assistive service. The resort grounds refresh my spirit! The ice skating rink is SO MUCH FUN, along w/hiking trails, basketball/tennis courts. I just love it here and so do my 4 children !

We booked two kayaks for $50 each for a three hour self-guided tour on the canoe trail of Klamath lake. This was the best deal we could find in the area, and it was well worth it. We had so much fun, and the rental equipment was of good quality. Just remember to bring sunscreen and water. We booked our tour the day of and it worked out, but I would recommend booking in advance. This is a small operation, and we felt terrible that they had to get our rentals ready with such short notice. They did everything perfectly, from communication to the meeting spot to punctuality, but please don't do what we did and book in advance if possible!

You can also choose to have a tent site with electricity. There is water outlet available for every tent site too. There is a beautiful lake that flows right in front of this campground - Agency lake. To top it all, its pet-friendly ! The campground store has 'ice' available so we could keep the cooler functional. This campground is conveniently located close to Crater lake - about 25 mins drive. Have breakfast at Melita's and lunch at El Rodeo - Mexican Restaurant - both that are a short drive from this campground. The sunrise and sunset views are awesome ! Carl and Paula are so nice. They would go out of the way to help you in any ways possible. And they are so courteous and humble !
