My husband, my 18-month-old daughter, and I were traveling from Georgia to Florida when we had car trouble with our Hyundai. We broke down in an area we weren't familiar with and didn't know what to do. After calling around, we were blessed to speak with Gene. He told us that if we could get the car there by 3:15 p.m., they would do their best to get it looked at that same day. Unfortunately, we had to wait on a tow truck and knew we'd be arriving much later than expected. When we called back, we asked if we could at least drop the car off while we figured out a hotel. Gene told us to come on in because he had spoken with one of the technicians about our situation, and they were still willing to help us. From the moment we arrived, Gene made us feel welcome. He immediately gathered our information and made sure we were comfortable. Several employees offered us complimentary drinks, let us use the TV area, and even brought my daughter a coloring book, toys, and a tiger mask. One incredibly sweet employee even took the time to fix the tiger mask when it came apart. Their kindness meant so much to us. The wait wasn't long at all. Gene returned with the technician, Mike, who performed a diagnostic test and quickly identified the issue. He sat down with us, explained everything clearly, and even helped us come up with a plan for the rest of our trip. He personally test-drove the car to make sure it was safe, cleared the code causing the warning, topped off our oil, and then went above and beyond by calling Hyundai on our behalf. He discovered there was an active recall covering the issue, found a Hyundai dealership along our route that could complete the repair for free, and gave us all the information we needed. We truly felt supported every step of the way. They told us they "treat everyone like family," and that's exactly how they treated us. During a stressful and uncertain moment, they gave us peace of mind and genuine kindness. I truly believe they were God-sent. I pray God blesses Gene, Mike, and the entire team tenfold for the compassion and care they showed our family. Thank you all for everything you did for us. Took my 2008 Ford F-250 to a mechanic in Lake City, FL, who told me that he thought the clutch packs were bad, but could not repair them as he did not have anyone that specialized in that repair. Then took the truck to Walt's Live Oak Ford after attempting without success to find a mechanic who could do this type of work. Paid just over $200 to Walt's for a diagnostic for them to tell me that it was the clutch packs, and that it also needed body mount bushings. Prices quoted were: body mount bushings $2,500 including labor, clutch packs $2,200 including labor. I did not have the repairs done at Walts because I was suspicious of their claim that I needed new body mount bushings, since my son and I had replaced them several years ago. A couple of days after picking the truck up, I got a call from someone at Walt's doing a survey, and told her of this experience. She said she would have the service manager call me within a day or so. I never heard from anyone else. Took the truck to Lake City Ford, paid for another diagnostic to confirm the diagnosis at Walt's, and had the truck repaired there. It needed clutch packs and a carrier bearing. There was no mention of body mount bushings. A trip to a tire store a few days later confirmed that the body mount bushings were good. This is the second bad experience I have had within a few months with Walt's. I had taken the truck in for an oil change and had a coupon for the oil change and a tire rotation. When I picked the truck up, I was told that they could not honor the coupon because the lifts were full and they could not rotate the tires. I know this is a petty complaint, but with the economy the way it is, we look to save a few bucks wherever possible. I bought this truck from Walt's and up until these last two experiences, have never had a problem. I'm not sure what has happened, but my trust in them is gone and I will not be going back there for repairs, oil changes or to purchase another vehicle. read more

Made an appointment to have a recall done on my truck. Made it online 3 weeks before the appointment on their website. Got an email reminder 5 days before the appointment. Go in today for the appointment, they have no record of it. The service advisor, was completely professional about the entire situation. He called, what I can only assume was the service manager. It took the poor service advisor begging her to come to the front to get her there. She seemed very annoyed on the phone. When she got to the area, she asked what the problem was. When I again explained the situation, she raised her voice and said "Well, what do you want me to do?". I raised my voice back. "I want my truck serviced at 10am as scheduled ". It just eescalated from there. The last words I heard from her were "You can get that done at any Ford dealership". I sure can. I wouldn't go back here if they were giving vehicles away. Anybody wonder why Ford is losing money. This is one big reason. Never again! read more

We've also had the pleasure of working with Mark on the sales team. He is such a pleasure to work with. He's very professional, and knowledgeable on the vehicles they have in stock. My husband and I heard an advertisement on the radio for a Labor Day special on a front end alignment at Walt's Live Oak Ford while traveling through the area. We are full time RVers - and our truck has been getting tire wear to indicate we have an issue with the alignment. He went online and scheduled a service appointment for 12:30 on a Saturday and we drove about an hour to get there. When we walked in - the guy at the desk was on two phones - so maybe he needs some assistance. We explained why we were there - and the guy at the counter says, "Oh you didn't know". Apparently the ONLY person at their dealership that can do alignments is off for a week. He did say he didn't know why the website allowed us to make an appointment. What is the point of providing online scheduling if customers need to call ahead to check - because we might not know something. But! There is another dealership right down the road in Lake City. We ask him to call to see if they can get us in - and he tells us he will Google the number. I was expecting the dealerships to work together to squeeze us in - but apparently - I should've just GOOGLED the number myself. So much for service. After several weeks of searching for my perfect car, I finally found exactly what I was looking for at Walt's Live Oak Ford. Jonathan Abel and Kyra Hickmon were great to work with from my initial visit to test drive the car through my actual purchase. I was not harassed or bombard with calls/texts like other dealerships. I had a couple of issues that needed special attention that Dino Daniel stepped up and took care of for me. He definitely went above and beyond making sure I was happy with my purchase and left with a smile on my face. After this experience, I can't imagine ever purchasing a vehicle from anyone else!! My mom came to buy a vehicle here. Tye there salesman was amazing but when she went to speak to the sales mgr, he was very rude and disrespectful. All my mom wanted to do was take a day to think about it and because she didn't do what he wanted right then and there. He got an attitude and was very rude to my mom. I would not recommend this place to anyone. No man should treat 62 year old woman like that. read more

I purchased a used SUV and was told there was no mechanical issues. The salesman was really nice and answered my calls and emails very promptly. After we agreed on a price and I made a deposit on the SUV they said they would deliver it to me no cost (I live 95 miles away); however, the next day they told me it would be 100.00 to deliver. I revived the vehicle at 7:30 pm at a local Home Depot. After the salesman left I crunk up the SUV and the check engine light was on. I contacted the salesman the next morning and no response. I contacted the manager and had the vehicle towed back to the them (at my cost). After 3 or 4 days I called to check on status. They said my salesman would contact me or his manager and I never heard from either of them. I kept calling the service dept and they told me my vehicle was ready. Never really got confirmation of the problem with the vehicle and the salesman nor his manager responded to my phone messages nor my emails. I would expect the service from a buy here pay here but not a Ford dealer. I am contacting the BBB too. I would never purchase from them again! read more
