Then took the truck to Walt's Live Oak Ford after attempting without success to find a mechanic who could do this type of work. Paid just over $200 to Walt's for a diagnostic for them to tell me that it was the clutch packs, and that it also needed body mount bushings. Prices quoted were: body mount bushings $2,500 including labor, clutch packs $2,200 including labor. I did not have the repairs done at Walts because I was suspicious of their claim that I needed new body mount bushings, since my son and I had replaced them several years ago. A couple of days after picking the truck up, I got a call from someone at Walt's doing a survey, and told her of this experience. She said she would have the service manager call me within a day or so. I never heard from anyone else. Took the truck to Lake City Ford, paid for another diagnostic to confirm the diagnosis at Walt's, and had the truck repaired there. It needed clutch packs and a carrier bearing. There was no mention of body mount bushings. A trip to a tire store a few days later confirmed that the body mount bushings were good. This is the second bad experience I have had within a few months with Walt's. I had taken the truck in for an oil change and had a coupon for the oil change and a tire rotation. When I picked the truck up, I was told that they could not honor the coupon because the lifts were full and they could not rotate the tires. I know this is a petty complaint, but with the economy the way it is, we look to save a few bucks wherever possible. I bought this truck from Walt's and up until these last two experiences, have never had a problem. I'm not sure what has happened, but my trust in them is gone and I will not be going back there for repairs, oil changes or to purchase another vehicle.

The counter people treat you like a person not like you are bothering them as if it's an annoyance they have to be there like a certain near by parts store. I found the shop by luck from my google search. Reviews look promising & as I was traveling alone I wanted to find a trusted shop if I could. Well, I did! Grady got me with a tow truck, got my trailer situated at his shop and even let me use his utilities as we had to stay the night to wait on the part. He ended up saving me $300 on the part (my vacuum pump went out) and had us back on the road by the next morning. I wish he wasn't a 3 1/2hr drive to get to otherwise he'd be my new mechanic!! Nobody is confusing this place with the Disney World of gas stations. But Busy Bee absolutely wants you to know it studied the Buc-ee's playbook in great detail and copied enough homework to pass the class. And honestly? Respect. After hours on the road, I pulled in needing gas, caffeine, food, a restroom, and probably some emotional reassurance from the highway gods. Busy Bee delivered on most of it. First off, the bathrooms were clean. Not "gas station clean." Actually clean. That alone immediately moves a roadside stop up at least one full star in America's travel grading system. Then came the snack exploration phase. They had homemade jerky, specialty snacks, random road trip impulse purchases, and enough "well I wasn't planning to buy this but here we are" items to keep me wandering around longer than intended. It's the kind of place where you walk in for a drink and somehow leave holding candied pecans, smoked sausage, and a giant bag of pork rinds you'll later regret in silence. The overall vibe was solid too. Convenient. Clean. Easy stop. Good energy from the place itself. The employees though? Let's just say the staff had the collective facial expression of people who may have originally applied at Buc-ee's and ended up here after the universe made other plans. Nobody was rude. But there was definitely an emotional support shift happening behind the counter. Still, for a highway stop, Busy Bee absolutely gets the job done. It's a good place to refuel both your gas tank and your stomach before heading back into the chaos of interstate survival. This is probably a true three-and-a-half star stop if we're getting technical about it. But Yelp refuses to acknowledge the beauty of nuance, and I'm feeling generous today. So four stars it is for the little roadside gas station that looked at Buc-ee's empire and said, we can absolutely make a run at this thing.
