Well, as you could probably tell from this station, it is no doubt near the stadium people go to…read moresee Tottenham Hotspur (though I just checked and it happens to be a half-hour walk, so there are probably easier ways to get there). Once again, it's a nice station, and of course I jumped off here because, well, the trains run quite frequently, and I wanted to check out all of the stations, which I have sort of managed to do.

I used Tottenham Hale station with it being one of the closest stations to the Tottenham Hotspur…read moreStadium, the new home of Tottenham Hotspur, it is both a National Rail and London Underground interchange station in North London's Zone 3. On a match-day, this place can get really busy, with queuing basically all the way from the stadium at the moment, with the stadium and station not coping very well with large crowds. The station is step-free on the Victoria line which is pretty handy, with other stations including Green Park, Euston, Victoria and Oxford Circus also being on that line, meaning you can basically get one tube from here, from most parts of central London. The buses outside the station weren't set out very well, I struggled to find one to get to the stadium and even the station staff has no idea to go, with this being one of the stations Tottenham Hotspur promote to use and even Transport for London, it's ridiculous the staff were running around like headless chickens, unhelpful and unapologetic. The station seemed clean enough, but it seemed a little scruffy around where they were doing some construction work. The Underground trains are inside the station, and the Overground are separate ticket gates outside which was rather maverick. There were no shops outside the station, but there was a retail park across the way however there wasn't really anything one could get from the retail park easily to take with you on a journey such as drinks and snacks, unless you prefer to eat at one of the fast food outlets including KFC and Subway before-hand. Poorly set out station, with many flaws including its' staffs and how it handles any form of crowds. 1*

I love this train line, I love that I can get from Bethnal Green to Stoke Newington if timed…read morecorrectly in 5 minutes (the trains come on average every 20 minutes but I always seem to have just missed one). The crowd is rambunctious to say the least, proper east London blood mixed in with the odd commuter heading to or from Liverpool Street. But one thing that leaves little to be desired is Cambridge Heath Station. Times being hard there are never any staff and the ticket office always has its shutters down so Cambridge Heath becomes the perfect urinal, homeless shelter and if far from private, great place to shoot up to an audience of 5.30 home comers apparently. But walk on by, turn a blind eye, hold your breath stepping over the puddles of piss and get onto the platform and take a look around and the great 360 view of East London, it's rare opportunity to get up this high and get the view in all directions. And just think, all for a quid or free if you like to live life on the edge, which I'd never encourage

Trains come every 15 minutes and are now generally on time. Also the sign used to say 'You are here' and point to cambridge but has now thankfully been changed (i think) and will no longer confuse touristy types who are looking for wonderful universities rather than strange cafes and 'gentlemans clubs'. Overall, a lovely station (ish)

Liverpool Street is one of the main transit corridors of London, especially East London. You can…read moreget almost any tube from here as well as the National Rail to get you outside of London. More importantly, the Elizabeth Line gets you easily to/from Heathrow. It's quite busy, so people like myself can easily feel lost getting off the tube, much less coming off an overnight flight. Once you orient yourself a bit, you'll realize where you need to enter/exit to get around town. The Tube is pretty easy in that regards, especially since Apple Pay can easily be used for travellers like myself. The Elizabeth line goes deep underground, so be prepared to walk a bit and take very high escalators to get up/down. However, the line was built to be pretty safe, clean, and airy. The main waiting area is where you can catch National Rail and the shops, of which there are plenty. I was pleasantly surprised seeing people grab so many grab-and-go options from M&S, for example. But options are plenty. It's also quite airy due to the ceilings and open air concept. Fortunately, I was staying at the Andaz, so this was super convenient. Also, I believe this place connects to the neighboring McDonalds, so you'll see people get their fast food kick too!

This station is striking because of its spacious environs. The number of services including food…read moreand beverage shops is a major plus. The washrooms are convenient and finding the platforms is reasonably easy. It's a relatively navigable station with numerous connections to local destinations and beyond. Use of this station is more likely to facilitate your journey than detract from it.
