Walter went above and beyond, quoted me a fair price for labor to install an amp and a sub on my 2018 Camry. I also told him if I could by the amp wiring kit with him. He did an amazing and clean job. Gave me a fair price. Called 3 or 4 stereo shops and quoted me close to $200. Will be coming back.

The technical side of applying my stereo was good, as expected stereo works it cost $290 so I'd expect them to give me my car back in good condition. But the way they cut the stereo trim is awful. Now I have to go get that fix elsewhere.

I remember coming here years ago. He quoted me a price but in the end he charged me lower. I guess the job was cheaper than he thought. So that's a green flag. My most recent experience also was good. He was faster than the time he told me it'll take. So that's another green flag. Really happy I found Walter's Stereo! They installed a subwoofer for me (JBL BassPro SL2) and did a super clean job. The whole process was quick, the price was fair, and you could tell they really know their stuff. Everyone was professional and easy to work with. Hard to find a good stereo spot , but walters stereos is the Best stereo spot in the valley, only spot ill ever go to . Walter & his fam is great with service, quality, & price. Excellent service and affordable pricing. I'm experienced installing stereos, but these new ones had me stumped. I had the wires already exposed and the old stereo removed. They were able to install the stereo for $75! You can't beat that! They were very quick, took about 45 mins. We just found a place nearby to eat breakfast and they called just as we were paying the bill. Very kind, knowledgeable, polite, and trustworthy. Highly recommended! read more

Definitely a great place to go. I went here about a week ago with a stock Mitsubishi Radio and wanted a new one. Over the phone I called many places where they would charge at least 250-300 for a full radio replacement and installation. At Walters I got exactly what I wanted plus installation for a total of 150$. It took them maybe 15 minutes to replace and they even had a cool place to sit and watch tv or browse the store. Spoke to Walter regarding a stereo installation for this Sunday. He said he does not take appointments but could meet us at the shop at 9am on Sunday since he was not going to be there on Saturday. This was a Christmas present and I was super excited to get this new head unit installed....even willing to set my alarm to make sure we were on time. Well...Walter never showed up. Called to shop and no answer and no way to leave a message. Guess it wasn't to meant to be. Will be looking for a more reliable shop next time. read more

I took in my mustang to remove my amplifier(something that only takes a couple minutes) out since I was trading in the car that day. $50 to unplug 5 wires and cap them, and I had to wait 2 hours until they were done with the car that had just arrived same time as I did. Sad to see the poor customer service. Goodluck on trying to get out of there on time. Go across the street, $20 and I was out in 5 minutes. read more

This was the best place I found and all the reviews where right. I took a OEM navigation and android head unit with a back-up camera 200 dollars great service and good work done especially since there was no instruction manual the camera works great had to get it adjusted but other then that all works great. I wanted an extra boom boom in the hooptie right. My cheap butt said self I am gonna piece this system. So I started out with youtube videos doing my research in all. So I got my sounds together. In the meantime I was searching for places to install this equipment. Some places I found were right on the money but further then I wanted to go. I found this gem of a spot and he hook a brotha up. Now I did want a 10 inch ported but all he had was 12 inch ported box so I rock a JBl in truck and up front also JBL my fronts I can hear words clear. I put a 5 channel BOSS amp to power the whole system. I don't turn it pass 12-15 if I am playing pandora. Glass is dancing to some rap music. Depends on the songs. I am happy with it. The only negative is the box takes up truck space if you have little to start with. But you check him out good prices I am more then happy with my system. And I can say I did help cause I research pick out what I wanted. Brought to him he did the work. I would tell friends to go to him good service. The price was reasonable from all the other places I called. read more

I took my 1997 Nissan Maxima (second utility car) to Walter's Stereo to get the stereo head unit replaced. The original, factory radio with cassette player still worked but the LCD display was sun bleached and unreadable. The stereo always just sounded OK. I finally decided to have it replaced. About 15 years ago, I did install my own speakers in the back and also put in a nicer amp in the trunk. I can't say that I did a great job wiring it, but it worked. I was a bit nervous of the cost to have a new head unit installed and feared that all of the wiring would need to be redone. The guy at the shop found a great JVC head unit that has a USB port and a CD player. They hooked it up in practically no time for an all-in cost of $150. He said that my wiring was fine. I drove out of there with my iPhone hooked up to the stereo jamming to Google Music. The sound system sounds phenomenal now! This was the best $150 I have ever spent. I can't recommend this place enough. I am happy with the price and the service was second to no one. Many thanks! read more

Bought a Sony stereo along with all speakers and a sub about 2 years ago. Recently I began having issues with the cigarette lighter and radio cutting off when I used either off them at the same time. I searched online and found out that sometimes the installation of an aftermarket radio will short with the lighter. I went to Walter and explained my concern, he eased me by saying usually the cigarette lighter is faulty and since on the same fuse will cut out. I had to purchase the part which was easy and cheap he told me what to get and where, installed if in less than 20 mins, no more problems. What a great shop, $30 for labor $8 parts. Do recommend for your stereo needs read more

I've been coming here for over 18 years! Walter has installed at least 4 stereos and CD changers in many of my vehicles that I have owned, along with a DVD player with 2 DVD monitors behind the captains chairs in one of my vans. This is the only place I bring all my vehicles to, and Walter is the only one I trust. He's honest, kind, helpful, thorough, and very professional. Beware of cheap price. Original install was low quality. Customer service was lousy. The store advertises a warranty but even the very next day I was not able to use that warranty to fix the bad install, which basically makes it pointless. I never felt that they cared about my satisfaction. I had to pay for an additional install the very next day after the initial one, at a higher price. read more

Great service was there before 9 and walter helped me right away and got the correct size speakers for my 09 camry and told me it will take at least 40 mins but it only took around 20 mins and offer a 90 days warranty will recommend this shop read more

Then pulling out a PA speaker system and plugging into back bay, showing off while camping. Jan 2026 Took the truck in because the sub blew out. So, I made an appointment for a Tuesday morning to have it hard wired (which is the best option since it uses its own fuse and does not drain your car battery). While I was there I also had my driver side and passenger side windows tinted to protect my skin from the UV rays. It was ready in about 3 hours. The total cost was $250 for the hard wire installation and $90 for my tinted windows. They are very courteous, friendly and professional here. The warehouse also sells car stereo equipment, dash cams, alarms etc. It's quite big inside although it doesn't appear that way from the street. My only complaint is that who ever installed my front dash cam put a long scratch just along the bottom of my windshield. It's low enough that it doesn't bother my eyeline but my OCD got the better of me!!! (And I didn't notice it right away because it was low) I would definitely go back here and highly recommend them. Just make sure to tell them to be super careful with the tools they use. *Located directly across from "Western Bagels" on Sepulveda Blvd. *Pull into the back lot for service.

This is a total of TWO 5-STAR REVIEWS, combined into one…read more Stereo 1 recently installed an aftermarket GPS/starter kill switch device on my car. Mechanics won't do this, but Stereo1 handled it. Why 2 reviews? In April 2024, I walked into Stereo1 with the goal of getting as much bass as I could without taking up any trunk or passenger space. Long story short: this business does not do custom installs, despite appearances. For a long time, I was unsure about the stereo I got from S1, for two reasons: the self-powered AIO Pioneer subwoofer definitely adds bass that isn't possible with mid size speakers, but there's just no comparison to a sub in a sealed box powered by a separate amp--even if I got 2 more AIO subwoofers, and this was never made clear to me. I resented this for a while. Also, my stereo was supposed to be louder, but I never got the amp for the 6x9 JBL Club speakers I got, because Crutchfield advised against doing so due to supposed "limitations on a hybrid". I went back to S1, and Sam was surprised to hear what Crutchfield said. I said if he could confirm that an amp could be installed, to call me so I could buy it and have them install. After that, I never heard back from S1. So I felt like I was left with a stereo that 1) didn't have satisfactory bass 2) overkill speakers that could not be powered sufficiently 3) I was suspicious about being ripped off on components and install. I had initially left a 5 star review because I first appreciated how easy Sam made the transaction, and I did believe I had upgraded my car stereo even if it wasn't giving me the joy I was seeking. However, after days and weeks of driving with a stereo that I wished was louder, I deleted my 5 star review. Fast forward to Jan 2026, and I got another car exactly the same as the one prior and I wanted to try the original mission again but using AI for advice the entire way. As it turned out, what I got from S1 was 1) definitely appropriate for the limitations I was working with 2) reasonably priced 3) could've handled the amp for the speakers, so Sam was actually on the right track, but he just never called me back, so he didn't make more money, and I didn't get more power (but at least I didn't pay more money). And I also got a quote from S1 for another install. I get nervous at businesses where pricing and costs are opaque and aren't clearly labeled and posted, and instead are calculated on the fly. It's not a good look, and I hate the feeling I get when I suspect I might be getting ripped off. I got a quote, and I thought I could do better with a business that offered an hourly rate for installs, so I went to a different business. At the end of the day, I think I would've paid about the same at S1. I support small, local business. And I always got knowledgeable service and total professionalism at S1. I came to S1 with a vision and unrealistic expectations. Looking back, S1 is a 5-star car stereo business for any consumer not looking for custom jobs/custom subwoofer boxes & custom installs. And they have car alarm and aftermarket modifications specialists. Not a ripoff. A legit business offering service professionalism, quality components and quality installs. And I've actually returned once for a minor speaker concern & corresponding minor repair. What I thought was a blown speaker was just a corroded speaker wire. 5 Stars.

The ZZ2 system itself has been a massive upgrade, very responsive, smooth operation, fast CarPlay connection, and no lag issues like I experienced with my previous setup. Audio quality is excellent and the whole system feels much more factory integrated and refined. Fantazy clearly knows these systems inside and out and took the time to make sure everything was working perfectly before I left. I began coming here in 2016 with a small stereo replacement on my 2013 hyundai accent. The work was amazing, he even added a mic for the double din pioneer evh he was installing for me. Later on in the year i got a sub and he installed it for the lowest price, and it came it out superb. Come February 18, i got a honda civic 2016 lx. I wanted the ultimate audio experience, so i purchased an lc7i, a Rockford Fosgate 12' powered sub, kicker coaxial speakers for the front doors and jl audio components for the rear speakers, as well as an amp for the speakers. The best experience! Went in there frustrated because another shop literally 1 minute away had no idea what they were doing to my car installed a stereo all wrong. After calling a few places around town I was quoted 1,200 to install a in dash dvd/nav with a back up camera on my truck. I gave Walter a call after reading some reviews and was quoted 1000 for everything mentioned above plus a 10 inch overhead tv.
