Walter's adopted a scheduled haircut rather than the traditional " up next" model mostly as a response to covid. The model actually worked!. A customer can select Walter or his nephew, TJ. You know your appointment time, have preselected your requirements and know what it'll cost. If you're lucky, you'll see some of Walter's AMAZING pen and ink sketches or share some math tips with TJ. Contemporary barbering in a real live traditional barbershop. No BS. Just respectful camaraderie Each man is a superb barber read more

Always friendly. Always a pleasant experience. Always quality workmanship. I drive an extra 15 minutes to get there, but it is worth the added effort. Highly recommended. read more

As any frequent reviewer of my posts know, I like to periodically (annually) re-review my reviews as things can change. Sometimes businesses close, get bad, or sometimes, better. This is one of those posts. Yes, I know I've been bad about checking in, but I just had a son, so I've been a bit busy. Plus, since the Pandemic, we've been getting deliveries from here more than actually picking stuff up. Master Barber Walter Geribo is an excellent barber, and I'm going to miss being able to go to this place now that we've moved back to Texas. This is a traditional barber shop that feels like you've traveled back in time, but in a good way. During our first visit, my lovely fiancé called him on a rainy Saturday when I was feeling a little rough around the edges, and we were driving through Onset. Of course, as a Yelp household we looked and saw the awesome reviews. It was a Saturday with a small line ahead of me, but I was grateful he takes walk ins. He takes his time to make sure you are happy and also moves quick, if that is what you want. I had my hair buzzed and my beard trimmed. He also said he offers straight razor shaves, if he doesn't have a long line. I haven't been able to find a time where I can get one of these yet, but maybe the next time I go back, it'll work out. Would I recommend this place? Yes. After coming here a few times, I can say that this is a great barbershop with an even better barber. I think my buzz and trim was around $20. Street parking only, but there's plenty downtown. read more

Today was my Lucky day! Walter was able to accommodate me on a "walk in" haircut. This is such a great shop and Walter and TJ are such great barbers that you are well advised to book online in advance. For an old timer like me it can seem like a hassle to plan ahead but in this case it is worth it! Even the old school Vibe of the shop is a kick! Be sure to ask Walter what famous wise guy got his last haircut in Walter's antique barber chair! 5 Star Old School Barbershop. Highly recommend! read more

I just wanted to say that this is the best barbershop I have ever been to and the owner Walter provided me with the most excellent and wonderful experience. Even though it was my first time here, I felt right at home. Both the staff and the customers were super nice and welcoming. It was raining cats and dogs today and the moment I stepped in the barbershop it was warm and toasty. Even though I did not know much about what my clipper settings are and which way I comb my hair, Walter was very patient and helpful with his suggestions. I felt very safe getting my hair cut here even during the pandemic and I am so happy I decided to come here! My hair looks better than ever and I will definitely be back in 4-6 weeks! Thank you so much!!! read more

Now I understand why they are rated so high! Amazing service by Walter and TJ, from the moment I walked in Walter greeted me with a smile and scheduled me to come back the next morning. I arrived Walter even remembered my name. Probably the best service I've had while getting a cut! If you're in the area I highly recommend heading here for a cut! You won't regret it! read more

Once again great haircut and establishment. I throwback decor that puts you a comfortable place. Reasonable. The best shave, warm shaving cream, hot moist towels with straight razor cut. Treat yourself read more

Best in town! If your in need of a nice haircut, please go here. Never disappointed!!

Walt provides a welcoming service. I have been a couple of times and found that he seems to remember everyone's name. He remembered me. I think this is a basic barbershop - I doesn't have any of the fancy salon items. But that is exactly what I am looking for. One chair - so you may have to wait. But the waiting isn't a problem - he has great tunes playing in the background (for those of us old enough to remember the 60s and 70s). read more

We travel full time in our rv and I have had hair cuts throughout the USA, this by far was one of the best. The haircut was exactly as I asked, old school shave of my neck and didn't forget my ears. I will hit them up again in September before heading west. I definitely recommend. read more

I've been going to Walter's for over two years now, and the 40 minute drive for me is more than worth it. Walter's shop is a refreshing tribute to the days of walking into a business where the owner knows you and cares about the service. He takes his time, and cares more about making you happy than getting the cut done. He takes pride in his work and the shop, and will happily tell you about the odds and ends adorning the walls. Walter's shop is the kind of business you want to see do well. read more

Brought my 8 year old in for a haircut today and hardly had to wait at all. We had visited Walter's once last summer as well and were extremely happy both times. My son was recognized even though he had only been in one other time. We spend a lot of our summer in Onset so it's wonderful to have a trusted place to take our boys!! read more

Great local barbershop. Walter is a professional and the shop is spotless. I found his shop while on vacation and now drive 45 min to get a cut. Highly recommend this business read more

What a great place. I am a cadet at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and not only does Walter treat us well, he goes above and beyond for all of his clients. I was with my friend today and he stopped by Walter's to get a quick haircut. He is leaving in less than a week for Army basic training, and Walter was intrigued by this and carried on conversation. Following the haircut, Walter took care of the bill for my friend and it was incredible (My friend was very thankful and talked about it for hours!). It is not often you see this generosity and kindness, so I wanted to say thank you to Walter for what he did, and I will most definitely be back next semester! read more
