The waiting room and was then asked if I had an appointment. Answer, no. Just walked in and need a quick clean up. Sorry was the reply, maybe come back in an hour after 9. Can't imagine why any eager business professional with no other visible customers on site couldn't possibly provide a service that their sign advertises and take care of a customer. I suggest taking down the barber pole and changing your name to Plymouth Bay Salon. Not in any way like the old school barber I remember from years past. The world has changed and customer service as well as business acumen is nearly extinct.

I do not want to wait in a barber shop for any amount of time with 3 kids. No one in the barber shop would want that either, LOL. My 3 year old son, typical to most others his age, has a really hard time sitting still. On top of that hurdle, he has blonde hair and we like him to have a low taper because it grows super fast. He also has a cowlick in the back that no previous barber or stylist could ever really perfect before. We had Lisa cut his hair and she was perfect. She was awesome with my son, super patient, absolutely slayed his haircut, and we've been booking with her ever since. His hair type, desired haircut, growth pattern of his hair, and behavior (age) makes it very challenging to get a great cut. Lisa nails it and most importantly she is consistent with every appointment. It's definitely a challenge but she does such an amazing job she makes it look easy. Worth a mention too- this environment is appropriate for children. The environment is friendly, professional, sanitary, and is appropriate and welcoming for families and children.

But Chris also supplies a personal touch - one example was when he gave me free cuts when I was between jobs so I looked good for interviews. Sure he has coached sports and made other contributions to the town as well, but the shop is where many spend the most time with him and bump into old acquaintances and perhaps his lovely wife. Recently I ran in to a friend of 10 years or so when I entered the shop and she was in the chair. We were both customers for years, but never realized it! It was a nice example of when-worlds-collide and you find you have a bond on another level.
