I love open water swimming, so I was pleased to have an area dedicated to swimming. Ok, I wish we could swim in the whole lake, but I'll take what I can get. The man-made was well used by all and seems like a nice place for people that can't get to a real beach. It seemed very family friendly. Good place for picnics. (They were calling for a possible tornado and we left early in order to get to the park before the bad wether.) We got there an hour early before check in and our cabin wasn't ready. Fine! We drove around and explored the park. There were booked pavilions with kids birthdays and a couple of graduations. We saw one park ranger with a tactical vest on and couldnt figure out why. We've NEVER seen rangers with those types of vests on especially since he was only walking around checking in with the kids birthday parties and graduations. Seemed totally excessive for the tactile gear. We came back 15 minutes before check in to the office thinking they would give us the key since the horrible weather started and they still told us to come back at 3. It was a torrential downpour and calling for a tornado we were forced to wait in our car for the 15 minutes. Went back in at 3 and they finally gave us our keys. We stayed at a cabin and the bathrooms definitely need a HUGE remodel. Once the rain stopped the ranger in the tacticle gear made it a point to come by our cabin and creep around. We thought that was weird. We stayed 4 nights and every single night the cabin beside our played very loud church music. It started at 6pm and went on until about 10 pm. Every. Single. Night. The whole cabin colony heard it. Quiet hours were to start at 9 pm. No one from the park office ever told them to stop playing their church music. We had no peace and were forced to listen to it for our entire trip every night we were at our cabin. We will not be back to this park. There are plenty of other state parks that are WAY more welcoming than this one.

Taking him there has gotten him on a more social level than just running around our yard. Also I can walk him around the park and let him be as active as he should be. Food They have a snack bar with the typical food you would expect (hotdogs, nachos, pretzels, popcorn) you can purchase a cup and/or a popcorn bucket for $5 a piece and get refills all summer for $1. Pool The pool is amazing! Perfect place to bring children with two kids areas. The have a small rock climbing wall in the deep end by the diving boards. Three slides, one of which is very tall. Children 12 and under can take a swim test to be allowed to swim in the deep end and go on the diving boards and rock climbing wall. You are allowed to bring floating things like noodles etc. which was really nice. You can only bring goggles that don't have the nose part (scuba goggles?) regular goggles are okay. The deep end is 5ft and the diving area is 12ft. I believe I saw that they rent out life vests for children and they also sell swimming diapers. Adult Swim Depending on how you feel about this it will either be good or bad. At the start of every hour they make all of the children get out of the pool for 15 minutes. The only people allowed in the pool are adults and children under 5 who are accompanied by an adult within arms reach. Seating They have chairs that you can use with foot rests and little tables but you have to get here pretty early to get one unless you see someone leaving you can take theirs. I would recommend bringing chairs and blankets to sit and relax on. There is plenty of space to spread out and not be right next to someone else on the grass. They have a few covered areas that you can set up at if there is space left. They also have 2 covered picnic table areas with 4 picnic tables (although I'm sure those fill up fast) Parks We don't have children so we didn't go to the parks but it looked like there was a lot to do and that it was well maintained. Crowds We went on a Sunday and there were a lot of people there but it didn't feel "crowded". We had to wait in line to get snacks but when we wanted a drink or popcorn refill there was a separate line which was nice. Conclusion- we will defiantly be back it was a great day!

PA is full of town parks. Centre County has some of the best in the state…read more Tudek is no exception to that. It has just about everything you would want in a rural park. There is a modern playground. There are athletic courts and fields. There is a really nice walking trail. There are several things that set this one apart, though. It has a dog park, for one. This is something uncommon in this part of the state. The other unique feature is a butterfly garden. It is quite beautiful and scientifically correct for the species of butterfly and bees in this part of the state. There is even a yearly educational program called Wings in the Park which was going on the day we got there. The program had activity stations set up with educational "questions" to help the young and old, alike, learn about the butterfly. There was even a station about bees. This program had information on new methods for growing perennials that are friendly to the butterfly. They had information on conservation efforts in effect in order to save the rapidly disappearing Monarch butterfly. Back to the park itself. The main trail winds through some fields. One of which appears to be a horse pasture. It is really odd, too. You would think with the developments nearby, that you would feel like you were in the middle of a residential area. You don't feel that way. It feels completely rural and relaxing. I imagine this would be a great place to go for a jog. The main trail is paved. But there are little grass covered trails and reflection spots throughout the butterfly garden. So with all this, I can really highly recommend this park. One of the top ones I have been to in along time. I mean... butterfly garden? Yep, with sunflowers, semi exotic looking native birds, and natural beauty, this would be a great place to visit daily.

We were in the midst of of a drive from Wilkes-Barre to Middleburg Heights, OH (which itself was a…read morehalfway point to Chicago). My toddler was doing really well, but we'd been on the road for an almost 3 hour stretch so when she started asking for a playground it was definitely time to make a stop. This park was probably about 10 minutes off the interstate, but it is a great one and definitely worth the stop. There's so much to do here. And it's either a very new park or been fairly recently renovated. There were two baseball fields here (at least), a splash pad that I successfully averted the kid's gaze from, and an accessible playground. One of the slides was cracked but other than that my babe had a lot of fun for the ~30 minutes we were here. There were a couple older girls there who took my little one under their wing, playing hide and seek with her and showing her some of the playground equipment. There are several benches around the perimeter of the playground as well. I hope DuBois is proud of this wonderful park!
