I'm honestly surprised by the low rating here, because that was not my experience at all. I had a horrible plumbing situation. I brought in two other companies to look at my issues and they made it sound like complete doom and gloom. 70 year old cast iron pipes don't bode well, but the quotes they gave me for PVC replacements were outlandish. Then the folks at Walsh Brothers came in, gave me a reasonable quote, and fixed pretty much all of my serious plumbing issues. The pipes even look good! All it took was for someone to get a little creative with the layout of my house and figure out an alternative solution, which they were able to do. Three months later and my plumbing is doing just fine. I'm super happy I chose Walsh Brothers because I feel I was treated with respect (i.e. not gouged for money) and my issues were fixed quickly and efficiently. read more

On May 15, 2024, I paid a whopping fee (via a check, no credit card) of $395 to Walsh Brothers Plumbing to simply (it turned out) get my toilet "unplugged" via a battery-operated pneumatic-like "blaster". The visit lasted 30-plus minutes--not a bad profit margin for the company! But I was also concerned about my bathroom's sink and tub drains being very slow. The young worker told me that once he solved the clogged toilet issue the others would also be solved. I tried to urge him to look at the other problems, but he declined, saying that he was not familiar with my brand of fixture hardware; and, thus, he could not investigate. The brand is actually called "California Faucets" and I would think a plumber, worth his credentials, would be able to deal with just about any clogging issue. Apparently not. So, now I have to hire another plumber to get my sink and tub drains flowing freely. Lesson learned: Be skekptical of a plumbing company's advertising! Thus, the 2.8 current quality rating via Yelp. P.S. As an aside, I asked the plumber about his newish battery-operated device that extended as far as six feet into a toilet and effectively (after a few tries) blasted through the obstruction in the piping. He told me it was very expensive, costing around $400...enough to discourage a homeowner from purchasing one, but encouraging the homeowner to call a plumber. I looked into buying such and found out that it really sells for around $100, definitely worth the price to a homeowner. read more

We reached out to Walsh Brothers when we had an issue with our garbage disposal. They came out and replaced the older unit with a new one we had purchased as a stand by, plus checked out the kitchen drain to ensure no issues. Job start to finish in about an hour and the new disposal works great. We have contacted Walsh Brothers for plumbing questions over the years and they have always been responsive. Time to replace a 43 year old boiler and 12 year old hot water heater. After interviewing 4 companies decided that walsh won out. From the first call, everything went according to plan. Professional work (neat and clean) arrived on time with work completed in one day. Had an estimate in hand on 12/5 on 12/7 job was complete. All workers were courteous and finished product exemplified their skill. I know its a boiler and water heater but I'm proud to show it off as some feel American workers don't want to work. the kid that was sent to my home to do duct work did a horrible job. I get no response from them to get the work corrected or paid in full refund. I have more leaks in the new ductwork than the 60 year old ductwork i have to now hire a second contractor to fix that work and pay twice . Walsh didn't even complete the work promised in the quote supposed to install a new return and didn't I guess it is a good thing. word to the wise don't hire Walsh get several quotes read more

I just wanted to add an additional review as of July 2023 - Walsh Brothers Plumbing and Mechanical Services has yet again come to the rescue. There was a secondary leak discovered after demo to access the stack pipe repair (mentioned below) - and Walsh was again, very quick to respond to the initial emergency call. From that point on, they were excellent to deal with as I coordinated things with insurance. They were onsite for the week to take out the bathroom floor, replace all pipes, and restore the bathroom and I couldn't be happier with the thoroughness and quality of their work. Many thanks to Mr. Walsh for always being available and working thru the decisions that had to be made along the way, to Quin and Colin for their meticulous and professional work. So very fortunate to find a local reliable plumber who I know I can always count on for their quality of work and expertise. Thank you for everything! Original Review: Excellent customer service all around - from front office to the onsite workers. After a very good experience with Walsh installing my heater & A/C unit, I knew they would be my go-to with my latest emergency. I called Walsh for an emergency call on a weekend after seeing water in my basement. They were very responsive, knowledgeable, and did their due diligence while diagnosing the root cause vs just assuming. Unfortunately there was a crack in my stack pipe but I knew that I was in good hands. All of the guys on site were great to work with, always courteous, and just all around hard workers who took pride in their job. Walsh Bros installed a "new" HVAC system but would not honor their own warranty when it did not function properly. The a/c lost refrigerant many times throughout the warranty period due to leaks causing the unit not to cool at all. They would come and put more refrigerant in but would never repair the leak. Finally the warranty expired and I was left with a non-functioning, useless unit. They talk a good talk but they do not take care of their customers. It was a financial hardship for us, senior citizens, to have to replace our entire HVAC again in only 5 years. read more

I have used Walsh brothers on two occasions for my plumbing needs and received fairly good service. I called them on May 23rd, with a leak behind my shower and I left a message. On May 24th someone called back and told my husband that they would call on Tuesday, after the holiday, to make an appointment with him to make the repair. No one called. When my husband called on Thursday, May 30th a rude woman answered and told my husband that someone would 'probably' come on Friday May 30th in the afternoon. Needless to say no call, no plumber. I don't call companies begging them to show up when I'm paying good money (no doubt a LOT of good money) to perform a service. I'm currently looking for another company. One hint? Dispose of the woman who answers the phone. If making plumbing appointments bores you then you need to be in another profession. read more

I spoke to the owner of the business and he said he would come over on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Not only did he not show up, I never even received the courtesy of a phone call. Serviceman arrived 8:00pm on a Monday evening. I was not advised that this was to be charged as an emergency call. I was not given an estimate and charges were not detailed on bill. After researching the price of materials myself I feel the price was excessive. As a Senior Citizen I feel I was taken advantage in that I was not given the opportunity to review all charges and then make a decision as to whether or not I wanted him to complete the work. I usually do not write reviews but just want to share my bad experience with this company. So I called in for plumbing services and the girl on the phone apparently with their "new policy" charging $125 for them to come out and will only be waived if you use their services. I badly needed a plumber due to leak in my main water line. Their quote will cost me a fortune, but still called them back to get their services before my basement will be flooded. Never heard from them. I know they are established company but no one as customer should be treated like that. Well, I will surely never contact them ever again. We needed a new heater and hot water heater and after meeting with and getting 7 estimates for the job, Walsh Bros was the lowest estimate and the most honest when it came to price. Installing the same equipment as quoted in the other estimates Walsh Bros was also professional, knowledgeable, professional and honest and saved us thousands of dollars. The men who came to do the work answered any questions I had and cleaned up every day leaving the area immaculate. Of all the jobs we have had done in our home by contractors this was one that was a NO STRESS job. I have used Walsh Brothers over the past 10 years for routine Heater/AC services and they've always been fair & easy to work with. Last night, when outdoor temps were 13F, my mother's furnace stopped working, and she had called her service company as well as two others who list 24-hr emergency response in their ads, and couldn't get anyone to respond. I called Walsh Brothers at 7:15pm, spoke to the answering service, and within 5 min Mr. Walsh called me back and had someone at the house 30 minutes after that. Tim was able to fix the heater blower in a matter of minutes and restore the heat. And on top of that, was a true professional. We couldn't have been happier with the experience. I was quoted a price over the phone of $250 to replace a defective gas valve on a water heater under warranty. We were okay with that not knowing how long it would take to do the job and considering a new water heater can cost upwards of $3000. I confirmed info with the company and was told the part would be ordered and we would be notified. I never received a call when the part came in as I had to call and confirm that myself. I scheduled an appointment for 10:00 am on a Thursday. The technician called me at 7:55am trying to confirm a 8:00am appointment.I wasn't there at the time but noticed a voicemail on my phone. I contacted the tech and reminded him the appointment was at 10 not 8 and he said he was tied up with a pipe break but he would be there within the hour. The hour passes still no guy. My wife calls him and he's still tied up " be there in an hour" which would have been 12:30pm...He didn't show up until 1:20 pm and was done before 2:15. That's over $250 hour...yes $250 hour....Don't have your children be doctors, lawyers, etc...tell them to be plumbers..... read more
