The Barn Yard

My husband and I were contemplating a modest pool house late last winter and decided to have our…read moretrusted contractor provide us an approximate cost. With the skyrocketing cost of building materials this year, he was apologetic about not being about to get the project within a reasonable budget. Enter Barn Yard. As luck would have it, the perfect size building was available right on the lot in Bethel! Within a few weeks, the site was prepped. The house was delivered 10 days later. I can't say enough about the help we received every step along the way. But the real shocker was the skill with which the pool house was carried from driveway to pool. Andy and Joe operated a machine called a mule to direct the move. This avoided the use of a heavy truck on the lawn. Though it added a little more to the cost, the savings to electrical and septic lines was more than a fair compromise. We are thrilled. The fan and additional lighting is being installed today. We will finally have shade by the pool!

Frank was our sales rep and helped us design the shed to match our house. The entire process was both seamless and professionally done. Upon delivery they navigated the twists and turns to lay the shed in place as though it had been done a thousand times. Without asking, all details were done from measuring the prepared base to placement of the shed in a perfectly measured and squared process and finally to the calibration of the weather vane. We highly recommend The Barn Yard!

Funny story about this place. So in the 90's there was a barn sales lot on RT112 in Medford…read more Your probably asking yourself, What the heck is a barn anyway? One doesn't "Need" a barn and what does one even put in a barn?? Is it like a Silo? Does one store corn or grain?? Man, you are just filled with questions! I live in Long Island and work in NYC. In the 90's I built a house. Wait, I more like GC's my house. I hired a plumber, a painter, a sheet rock guy and we all built this thing together. Kinda like a collaboration, where all I did was swing a hammer and paid everyone. Well, I need a place for my car. My house is on a hill so I want a detected garage. I call my builder and there is a structure that was built probably in 1930. Well to tear it down and build a one car garage, 30K. 30K?? What that hell man! So I drive by this place on 112 and I see a huge barn! I mean this sucka has a loft!! Car on the bottom and a man cave loft on top to play cards with my buddies and smoke stogies, yes!!! I walk into the place and the salesperson is Amish. I tell him I want the barn with the loft! He says, well you have to have a permit from the Stony Brook historic center before I can come. Oh, Hogwash. Here is cash. I'll have the area cleared for this sucka. Here you go. Sir, I can not sell you the most expensive barn on my lot without a permit. Are we in New York????? I'm all bummed and I drive by "Gera Gardens" . They sell sheds, swing sets and barns! I find a nice single car barn with double doors (No loft) I'm thinking I'll be like Batman and bash thru the doors when I want to drive my car. haha Very reasonably priced, I had the old structure torn down. I bought some gravel and had it all graded for my new garage/barn. The truck driver comes down my block. They put down some platform for the barn to rest on, then it was the coolest thing ever, the barn was on this huge "swing arm" and was rested on the platform. Dealing with GG was not a hassle, they sell all sizes of barns, sheds, swings, kids swing sets. My barn has been standing for over 15 years. GG sells a quality product

Wood Kingdom West - They put the roof right over the huge gap. Plywood isn't resting on a 2x4. You see the nails when you're inside the shed.

Visit Date: January 12, 2019…read more I wanted to take my son to Wood Kingdom when I found out about it. Hubby beat me to the punch and took him there on one of my work days but this past Saturday after the gym, he suggested we go again and I was all for it. This is a great place to go for indoor play during the winter. It's spacious, there's a ton of indoor playgrounds and a bouncy castle for the kids to go on. My one issue was certain slides and tunnels were a little tight for me to get through. My son does independent play but he does want me to go on playground equipment with him still. I lost a lot of weight so I can fit fine on most playground equipment but this playground equipment wasn't entirely adult friendly. They offer complimentary coffee and tea which I think is really awesome but I was hesitant to try it. I am a coffee snob and since I've had to go back to only drinking almond milk in my coffee and not the nice delicious dairy free creamers I was using to mask the taste of bad coffee I'm hesitant to try coffee at certain places. Hubby seemed to enjoy it but he used the free tasty creamer they put out. Still it's nice that they even offer free coffee. Open play is $12 per session I'm not sure if they offer a play pass or not.

I went to the store for help, they said they can't do anything about it, because its installed. So unhelpful when I tried to get the problems resolved. I would never recommend anyone. You can see the gap in the in the roof plywood and broken frame. I had to add my own nails to the face boards since they didn't put any and it was separating from the frame. Don't pay before they finish. This is how they get you at this place. Don't over pay and get scammed like me.
