First one-star review I have ever written. Where do I begin? Mangement was horrible, they mis-copied our forwarding address three different ways so we did not receive our move-out statement. Charged $50 for a microwave handle that was not broken when we left. The move-out statement showed us double charged for water in the last months (they could not explain, something about not being charged when we first moved in three years in the past). Very shoddy apartments. We had scorpions falling from our light fixtures. Things broken or leaking all the time. We moved out on our first opportunity. Avoid this place. read more

There has been a good-great experience for us at these apartments all the way around. The lead maintenance guy works hard and often explains why certain things happen to break, and how to keep it from happening again in the future. I think he understands the limitations of these apartments as they are fairly old, and probably weren't built with super quality materials in the first place. We live on the 2nd floor (and have two other times in other apartments) and have received complaints from neighbors downstairs on multiple occasions. I believe it's because they have installed hardwood floors, and the noise must be an absolute nuisance downstairs. The crazy part is that we are super thoughtful, quiet, and don't purposefully stomp around. Our neighbors have mentioned verbatim: "we are the loudest people they've ever lived with"... I've read bad reviews about what seems like everything the apartments have to offer, but honestly, it's a solid apartment complex. I've lived in 5 different apartments, and this one is definitely on of the better ones. I'll give a few reasons as to why: - Great neighbors: Everyone is seemingly kind and friendly. - Great location: Right next to a Buc-ees, and the trees and sunsets are a nice touch. - The fact they have dog poop bags which is pretty great... - Good pools that recently got a cleaning. - The car gates sometimes don't work, but at least we have them. Feel nice I suppose. They recently fixed fence gate as well which was about time! - CHAPALAS!!! Great TexMex and a small grocery store next to it so you can run little errands without having to run all the way to HEB. read more

Apartments suck. management sucks. maintenance sucks. Rent goes up every time you renew. Avoid this place.

Rent ANYWHERE else other than Walnut Ridge. We lived at Walnut Ridge for almost 2 years, but we broke our lease early as we bought a house. When we moved in, our apartment was dirty and the only paint that was touched up after the previous tenant was the door and baseboard paint. There were white paint splatters all over the floor from that. The actual wall paint was not touched up and nails and holes from the previous tenant were still in the walls. When my husband walked the apartment with a manager to show her, she said it was not painted because they didn't have any more of that wall paint, but we could take a swatch to Home Depot and color match it if we wanted to. 2 days after moving in, our AC unit failed, in the beginning of September, with a 5 day old baby. They stated the maintenance man fixed it, but when we returned to the apartment, it was not fixed. The maintenance man came a second time and finally fixed the issue, but while we were waiting for it to be fixed we were not provided a window unit. The AC condensate line drains from the ceiling into the bathtub, which is absolutely disgusting and I'm pretty sure is not up to code. You'll be taking a bath and water will be draining from an open pipe in the ceiling into your bath water. When we finally moved out on 4/9/24, we were charged for chew marks on a door frame from a dog (which is absolutely false) and because the paint we used to touch up the walls didn't match the existing color. I disputed this, and those charges were removed from my move out statement on 4/20/24. We were told we had 30 days to settle our balance to avoid the account being sent to collections. It has been 25 days since I received the revised move out balance, and I was informed it was too late to settle our balance and that it had already been sent to collections. Absolute worst experience living here. The management at the time was hard to keep up with, new managers every other month. Maintenance was a joke when it came to fixing a broken faucet in the kitchen. Took over a week to get someone to have a look. And they would find any reason to have you pay more for rent. If you are one to use curtains rather than blinds get ready to pay a fee for that. The pool was rarely cleaned. Both front and back SECURITY gates NEVER worked, which allowed ANYONE to just casually drive in and out. The gates have been like that for over a year now. And god forbid something happens to your car in the parking lot because there are absolutely no cameras to document anything. Of course, that's IF you can find any parking available. Honestly, with all the headache and poor management, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. read more

Walnut Ridge is a very poorly managed facility they care only about $$$ They advertise being gated giving you the idea they are safe and secure ... FALSE!!!! The car gates can be walked through by anyone when closed, the walk through gates are never working properly and the security cameras don't work at all!! You pay top dollar and then extra for every amenity, there's a reason why all other complexes in Bastrop stay full yet this one always has vacancies. The maintenance crew is only around when the woman are near!! There's nothing safe or secure here and once you are in the lease even if they are at fault it's $2500 to get out of it!! Just don't move here! We've been here going on 4 years and it's only gone downhill! The current manager is the worst out of all the office staff this place has gone through. They don't care about residents, customer service is horrible!! Rent went up over $100 this year and nothing has changed. No upgrades, gates rarely work, can't take advantage of the gym unless you pay an additional $75 for a gate key, parking is ridiculous and office staff is rarely there at the posted hours. I used to love it here but I can't wait to get out of this place! read more

3 days ago we came home to dog shit on our staircase, I took a picture and showed the people working in the office. I was told they would have someone go clean it up. This is day 3!!! We have 2 toddlers that love to go up and down on their own and I can't let them because of this dog shit on the staircase. The manager clearly dosen't care about his residents. We dont ever complain about anyone or anything but they one time I do I feel like they dont give two shits. I will not be renewing my lease like i had planned to. read more

Parking is terrible. Dog poop be careful where you walk outside. Unreasonable tennants, make a lot of noise, and it doesn't matter what time of day. Gnats that bite and causes painful swelling. read more

I would not move here. My wife and I put a deposit down and for legal reasons we were unable to move in, we were told the $200 would not be given back and the office workers laughed about it. If I could I would give them a negative. Stay away they will rip you off. read more

we lived with several severe roof leaks for over a year without relief. we do not recommend. for the full details continue reading. we moved in to the apartment...there were a few minor problems but they assured us that any problems we had would be fixed in a timely manner. a month into our lease it rained for the first time. We had several pouring roof leaks. we called and reported the problem. first they told us they would be unable to fix it while raining and that they would check first thing Monday...Monday came and no one showed up Tuesday we called and reminded them. they came and told us they had to higher a roof contractor. for the next 5 months they had reason after reason why this contractor quit or that contractor wasn't high enough quality. after 10 months the the roof acquired new leaks, one of which was directly over our new born babies crib. we demanded to be moved to a first floor apartment. they wanted to charge us 500 to move to a new apartment. we asked that this fee be waved due to the unfit living condition of our current apartment. they said this could not be waived as it was in our lease agreement that we had to give them a reasonable chance to fix the problem before amendments could be altered. after. they finally sent someone out who said it was a simple fix...worked on the roof, and then told us it was fixed. It seemed to be true for about 2 months. after two months though the leaks returned faster than before and more spread out. we again demanded to be moved as that was what they had promised us...they told us the contractor had a one year warranty and could not waive that fee unless the contractor came out and was unable to repair their mistake. we decided to patiently wait two more months until our lease was up and wash our hands of the entire experience. good luck. read more

I made a yelp just so I could leave a review! If I could leave 0 stars I would! Absolutely infuriated with management. Not only are these apartments supposed to be "luxury", which they are far from, but now you get the cops called on you for listening to music at the pool "country music btw" but then the manager wants to lie and say you cursed them out to the cops instead of talking to you personally first. Keep in mind it's noon on a Friday during the summer! I've lived here going on 5 years and been thru 4 managers when will things change? read more

I have lived here for about a year and we have had nothing but great experiences. The maintenance staff always gets our work order completed in a timely manner and the office staff is always quick to assist us when we have a question. I would recommend WalnutRidge.
