I will forever be grateful for the care that the staff at Interlochen Health and Rehabilitation…read moreCenter offer, not only to my mother, but all their residents. My Mother is bed ridden due to a stroked she suffered due to covid in 2020, so she requires 24-hour care, that I can not provide at the home.
Our first nursing facility was a nightmare, but we had nothing to compare to, until we got to Interlochen, now we know. The first nursing facility I chose, was because it was newly built and fancy on the inside, but once we got there, it was awful. So awful that 17 months later my mother ended up in the emergency room with a fractured arm, fractured toes, and a concussion, I refused to send her back. I went on my search for a new nursing facility and found Interlochen. While the building itself is older, it is clean and well maintained thanks to the tireless efforts of their maintenance and housekeeping crew. Mom has been here for one year and loves it.
The staff is engaging, compassionate, respectful, and kind. I can not be happier with the treatment my mom is receiving. Communication is excellent, anytime I have a question or concern, it is addressed immediately. I visit multiple times per week at different times, and I am always greeted with a warm welcome, mom has become so comfortable and entertained, she does not require me to be at her side as much, and this is a huge relief for our family.
Here are the most caring, qualified, efficient, helpful, and upbeat staff, my mother calls her friends. Special shout out to Jennifer Burks, our incredible social worker who knows every one of the residents' needs, she also knows how to network the resident with the proper doctors, for their special needs. The activity director Laweda Adio who tirelessly and cheerfully gets every resident involved in fun events, welcoming their families to interact with them during these events, she keeps the daily fun on track for all. Pon and others take care of the very beautiful atrium garden for the resident's enjoyment. Hats off to our cafeteria staff, the food is very good here and the charge nurse will work with the residents planning their meals, catering to their likes and dislikes, very nutritional food.
Interlochen is known for its physical therapy department, very knowledgeable, professional, competent, and courteous, always looking out for their patient and care plans, keeping track of their progress, while encouraging their patient to keep working and moving forward. The nursing staff including the director of nursing, charge nurses, and CNA's, always there to help, friendly and interactive with the residents, these individuals actually care for the comfort of the resident and are very easy to work with, calling you when your loved one isn't feeling good, keeping you informed on medication changes, these people are true Angel's they do not have an easy job, every resident requires different health care, so the nursing staff must adapt to each situation per resident, we cannot thank these individuals enough for their tireless efforts.
Thank You one and all, I appreciate you! - Angela
