My daughter and I both loved the food! She's a picky eater so the fact that she ate her whole plate of food was awesome!

My parents and I stumbled across this place on our way home, and what a find it was. From the…read moremoment we stepped inside, we knew we were somewhere special. The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance--classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can't remember her name--she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that's hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed--not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on--truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert--when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don't exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we've ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn't find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you've made it this far in my amateur review, thank you--and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.

My order , Loaded Bacon and Cheese Fries add steak PickUp Order. To our dismay the entire bottom cheese layer is and continues to be stuck to the paper liner which makes almost all of the bottom cheese layer inedible. Please ask pickup prep crew to stop lining your pickup boxes with paper that sticks to the cheese fries. Use foil sheets. This has happened on the last 3 orders we've placed from You guys. Second Bad, a full order of Bacon Cheese fries used to fill the entire bottom of the box. It Now it consists of two small handfuls of fries. Not the amount expected for $13. If I'm adding steak for $3-$4 extra I would expect more than 4 small pieces of steak. It used to have 10-12 pieces of steak when the order was $10 a box. I do understand that beef prices have increased but not so much that you skimp too much after raising prices on the order. I'll end on a positive. Sunday Chicken, the Cat is the best door greeter! Plus young ladies that work the front area are polite and personable. They should be recognized. Thank you and please take this as a constructive critique on the paper liner on orders involving cheese bottom layers.

Our dinner started with an order of crabcakes which by far was the BEST disappointment of the meal...We should have ordered two or three orders because they were that good. Only two cakes per order but they were definitely a flavorful app. My wife ordered the roasted red pepper salmon dish. After sampling it I would say she was pretty accurate in saying that it was one of the best prepared salmon meals she's ever had. Moist and tender, definitely will be a repeat order for her. I ventured outside of the box and tried the Creole seafood pasta platter. Disclaimer, 9 out of 10 restaurants put the least amount of scallops, shrimp and crab in these type of dishes. Porterhouse was not the exception, so I'm glad I ordered an extra skewer of shrimp. However, the one thing this dish did have going for it - it was perfectly spiced. It had a great kick to it and the best part was it wasn't too salty. Overall it was a great experience and was accompanied by really good food. Sidenote, sit on the right side if you would like it to be more quiet and family oriented. We were glad because we could hear the bar area blaring music and TVs which would have made it difficult to catch up with our local friends.

The soda tasted watered-down. I ordered salmon with red pepper cream sauce served over seasoned rice. Instead of a vibrant, fresh sauce, there was a thick layer of cheap-tasting cheese ladled all over the salmon, smothering the flavor out of everything else. The rice was bland. On a Friday evening, a good restaurant should be jam-packed; here, however, only half the tables were occupied. For three people, $140 is an insane price to pay given the low-quality food that we received. Philip M's is much better. I would be giving one star if it were not for the service, which I have no complaints about: our server was courteous and attentive, and we tipped her appropriately.

Overall 3.5 Stars This local steakhouse was recommended by…read morea friend to try their lunch specials. Located near the bowling alley and a few other restaurants, the exterior decor looked nice with a country flair. Ambiance: 3.5 Stars The restaurant itself is small and cozy. It has about 10 booths and four tables (2 tables - seating of 4 and 2 tables - seating of 8). The booths can seat 4 or 5 if a chair is added to edge of the booth. The interior is more country style with pictures and southern decorative items. They have a one stall bathroom for Men and Women. Service: 4 Stars the servers were friendly, nice and were very helpful to answer your questions. Drinks were brought to us within two minutes after placing our orders and the meals arrived about 15-20 minutes due to lunch rush. Food: 3.5 Stars - Lunch Blue Plate Specials I ordered the hamburger steak with Mac-n-cheese and a half/half Tea. The tea arrived a hugh mason jar. Hamburger Steak: 3 Stars The grilled flat iron hamburger was the STAR of the show! It was juicy and had a nice char to the exterior. I say it was about a 6-8 ounce burger that was freshly made. The meat tasted wonderful with a clean beefy taste. You can tell a difference between a hand made burger versus a frozen pressed burger. Now, the gravy was too beefy. It took the flavor away from the burger itself. I scrapped most of the gravy to the side. It has too much of a umami taste, possibly from the beef bouillon or Worcestershire sauce. The Mac n Cheese was really creamy and cheesy. The noodles were slightly overcooked where the noodles would break apart when you use the fork to pick it up. If you are a Mac n Cheese fan, then you will like it. It was good but I think I will order the wonderful and crispy fries next time. My friend ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich w fries and Tea. 3.5 Stars He said the sandwich was good and the cheese melted nicely with the steak. However, the steak was thicker than normal cheesesteak meat. Not thinly sliced but was more hand cut with a knife in 1/4" thick. We believe the steak type was sirloin, which was tender and flavorful. The fries were hot, fresh and crispy. Had a sprinkled of sea salt and black pepper. They are open for dinner and I will definitely come back to try one of their steak entrees. Also, they have an attached butcher shop connected to the restaurant. Fresh hand cut meats, limited amounts of cheese, condiments and other items. I recommend this steakhouse.
