I came upon this convenience store and with this road being sparsely dotted with gas stations, or any businesses, I had to give this place a go. I have never heard of this company before, but after a quick search this is another regional chain of convenience stores. This one being based in Mississippi. For the most part, it is a well organized and stocked store and a great place to make a pit stop. Stretching your legs is a must here as the road ahead is open and there are not many stops for miles ahead. I made sure to make use of the facilities, clean and usable. I browsed the coolers and shelves to grab a snack/drink. Customer service was amazing, they go out of their way to have a conversation with you here.

I saw the sign for Hickory Flat and thought we'd need to keep driving. I was thrilled to see Exxon listed on the last exit sign. The restroom was first on my list and it was very clean. Yay! When I first walked into the truck stop, I noticed there were a lot of people having breakfast or just coffee and hanging out with their retired friends. Assuming this is the only place in town. As always, I walked up and down the few aisles to see if there was anything I couldn't live without. I found my husband staring at the hot food display. So glad he was. They had what appeared to be blueberry biscuits. Just like Bojangles used to have. There are still Bojangles restaurants but not in our area. We bought one for each of us and after the first bite I knew that was a good call. If I'd have bought more, we would have polished off as many as there were. Good grief they were gooooood! So, if you are ever passing through Hickory Flat in the morning hours, stop and pick up a blueberry-honey biscuit. You won't be disappointed.
