    Pilot light just went out

Not to be confused with Pylon, which is a little bit more power-ful if you know what I mean. Or Piles, which are, well - gross. This pilot is a bit of a headache in terms of getting in and out and wasn't so easy and was very busy - but having said that they have the cheapest gas in the area and I really appreciated that. The f**k are you doing? Oh sorry I was talking to an idiot on the road. I heard someone lamenting the other day about how all the mother and father owned truck stops are not as good and have bad parking lots and everything is expensive and it's kind of true in some ways but not overall and not in general and honestly at these big truck stops things are expensive too so let's not make any bones about that. But what I will say about them is they often have cheap gas and they are always good places to sleep, and are pretty safe and big and well-lit and for the most part - I think they're pretty damn awesome.

    Thank you for your excellence

What more can you say about a place that is a one stop shop!!! Thank you for your excellence! I love seeing Pilot signs from the Highway and on my GPS! Because that means we have a safe place to get a quick refresher! The venue is clean, bright, and efficient! Staffed with local community heroes! God bless!

Cruising back on the I-40 expressway back to Nashville my GTO needed to make a pit stop for fuel and tasty beverage, however much better things were for sale at this trucker stop. Much to my surprise I discovered they served the best chicken strips I've ever tasted. We're seriously talking restaurant quality bird battered into perfectly spiced & moist chicken strips breaded and deep fried to perfection. Frank didn't get the rest of the bird or condiments however based on this culinary delight one can only assume the rest of the bird is delicious to the last bite. What an amazing planet when you can obtain simple pleasures from a truck stop meant for refueling.

The lot is very small with lots of traffic. If you're hauling an RV or trailer it's hard to get in and out. The pumps are so slow.

I had high hopes as I stopped because most Pilots I've been to were really nice, but this one is a dump.

They would not take coupons from the Hardys app. WTF Their manager said, "Loves won't let us" bad job by you or are they liers?

"Red" button as I departed. Coffee was stocked though the attendant felt that now was the time to tidy and clean up. Okay, I worked around him and was able to get a large coffee creamered and through the ground-to-order machine. And then it went sideways. The young lady in front of me at the register was redeeming lottery tickets and the one young man was overwhelmed. As he continued trying to sort it out unsuccessfully, the line grew and grew. Now eight people waiting and for the first time ever, I abandoned the coffee. Maybe he's fine at keeping the store running when everything's good but he needs way more help with the lottery machine. Disappointing experience this morning. I'm not done with Love's - they're usually awesome - and I will eventually return to this one when I'm passing through Jackson. Hopefully they have this guy trained up by then. I don't feel right calling him out by name on Yelp. [Review 2303 of 2024 - 551 in Tennessee - 23318 overall]

First off, it is now called "the grass stop" which if it's supposed to be better marketing, it's a no. Second, the environment already feels weird, and as soon as you walk in you understand why. Run down, empty, and overall just not worth walking into. The employees were standoff-ish, and there may have been two people working. I couldn't tell. At least they have an IPad you can gamble on. The trail to the restroom is insane. Look at the pictures I provided because I am not lying when I say i thought I was going to get GOT. It's dark, old, smells horrible, and looks like it hasn't gotten anything new since 1960. The door to the bathroom doesn't open all the way, so if you have a disability or trouble walking it WILL BE a challenge. The door also doesn't lock, so bring someone with you to guard the door with their life. The toilet is on a platform, but the toilet paper is below it, and let's just say I almost ate the floor to wipe my bum. The writing on the wall doesnt help; not very comforting. They did have cameras, but not sure if they were for safety, or for personal gain. There was none in the room where the bathroom and employees only is. One positive is that the sink does function well! Overall, this quick stop turned into a life-long memory that ruined my day, and I will not be back.
