As far as the produce goes, I'd be comfortable buying the peppers, but the rest (on the day I went) were old, some moldy and had a leathery skin appearance and brown bananas. There were cactus leaves, fresh banana leaves and peppers in the cooler. I purchased a couple of poblano peppers for $1.35. I can't find them in Kroger and Walmart has had them in the past, so it's hit or miss finding them when I want them. These were shiny and had no pitted skins. There is a vast selection of herbs and spices, in all forms, rough chopped, minced, tea bag and fresh (wilted today but they are probably generally fresher). As far as the can goods, such as peppers, tomatoes and black beans, they are cheaper at Walmart and for the same brand name. I was really taken aback by the price of a 4 lb bag of regular sugar (no unique brandname, the same as in other stores), they had it priced at $4.19. I did my grocery shopping across the road at Kroger when I left here and I paid $1.89 for 4 lb sugar. The butcher shop area had a rather large selection of meats, ranging from mystery (mystery to me as I didn't recognize the cut and I don't know Spanish well enough to know what the placards said it was) to preseasoned diced meats. I plan to come back for the thin sliced beef to make jerky. It was cut thinner than the butcher at Gardner's could do for me. There were fresh baked breads and buns but no pricing. I will probably grab a bag of buns when I come back for the beef. There are also non-grocery items, such as, cooking vessels, grill for stovetop use, nik-naks, lighters and such.

I have to say that this is one of the most clean and organized grocery stores I have ever been in. Every aisle was spotless and organized. Shelves were clean and signs clearly visible. My favorite liquor store…read more I've had an incredible experience every time I patronize this establishment. The first time, I entered looking to acquire cigars. The gentleman at the counter expressed regret, and informed me that Corinth no longer had a good humidor. I told him I was visiting from out of town. He then went to his truck, retrieved a cigar, and presented it as a gift. His hospitality left me in awe. Another time, I went in shopping for bourbon, and made an off-handed comment about my opinion of a particular distillery's single barrel edition. The same gentleman behind the counter began to dazzle me with his knowledge of whiskey production and its impact on taste. He made a recommendation that I immediately followed, and was delighted with what I got. The gentleman behind the counter is an expert and a professional. Also the selection is excellent.

I was the manager of a business that also served food. I took over and revamped the entire menu and used several items from Suitor's. The most popular item was the whole ribeye loin. Their own brand of breakfast sausage is sold in local grocery stores and is hard to find it in stock a lot of times.

There are a good variety of fresh meats to choose from and have them cut to your preferences (pre-made beef kebab are available). The produce section is ok, but nothing spectacular and fits into the "pop in to grab an onion or something" mold. The brands they offer are predominantly generic and nothing wrong with that...but it is what it is. It doesn't hurt that a beer and cigarette store is attached (with a separate entrance) and is located next to a wine and liquor store, makes for an even nicer "pop in and grab a couple things" trip. I definitely hold the meat department up as their shining star and main reason to shop here.

I purchased a half cow from Rickman's based on the excellent experience I had with them last year…read more At that time, the product quality and customer service were both outstanding. Unfortunately, this most recent purchase was a major disappointment. The ground beef is significantly overworked, with a texture more like paste than proper ground beef. It has an unusually soft, almost mushy consistency, and the meat-to-fat ratio also seems off. While cooking, I have had to drain excessive amounts of grease. The flavor is acceptable, but the texture is often mealy and unpleasant. I contacted the butcher to provide feedback. I was not seeking a replacement for the roughly 120 pounds of ground beef I received. I simply wanted acknowledgment of the issue and reassurance that steps would be taken to prevent it from happening again. Instead, I was told the texture was the result of the cow's genetics. I found that explanation difficult to accept, as texture issues of this nature are typically associated with processing and preparation. Rather than addressing the concern, the response appeared to shift responsibility away from the butcher and onto the rancher. What disappointed me most was not the product itself, but the handling of the concern. A sincere acknowledgment and a willingness to discuss the issue would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, based on both the product quality and the customer service response, I will not be making future purchases from Rickman's.
