The farm shop is quite small but they sell their own beef (mince, steaks etc), lamb (chops etc), eggs, veg, pies (beef and cheese and onion), sausages as well as local preserves and chutney. Their main business is their cafe, which has a fantastic selection of small snacks (sandwiches, tea cakes, homemade soup, cream scones etc) to larger meals including salads, all day breakfasts, homemade beef and lamb burgers and daily specials. The food is all either from their own produce and meat at the farm or locally grown and sourced when possible. You can taste the difference and all the food is fresh and tasty. Their selection of cakes is fantastic, all home made and yummy. Last time I went they had crumbles, fruit pies, chocolate biscuit cake, sticky toffee pudding and many more I can't remember. But the one thing that I adore the most about this place is their own homemade ice cream! It is the best ice cream I have ever come across, it's not overly sweet and the flavours are great quality. The choice is huge and changes nearly every week but they can include: cherry and yogurt, strawberry cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding, hot cross bun, double chocolate chip, chocolate mint chip, strawberry, toffee fudge, sherry trifle, grandma's special (sweets perfect for kids), farmhouse vanilla, cookies and cream, liquorice... the list goes one. They also do sobets. As well as this huge selection you can buy cakes to take home, anything that's in the cake counter as well as homemade scones and cookies. It has a large outdoor area for kids to play with lots of toys and slides while adults can sit nearby in the sunshine watching the nearby cows and sheep in a field. The whole place just has a wonderful, friendly feel. Only caution I would suggest is if like me you don't have kids and like a bit of peace and quiet, either go early (before 12pm) on weekends and avoid on bank holiday Mondays as it gets very busy with families.

This led to some rather funny looks at the counter. One one occasion, on asking our Kenyan friend for cooking information, he explained to us that they probably laughed at us because *no-one* buys just one bhindi. We soon learnt from this school-boy error. As well as fruit and veg I always picked up pitta, naan and other foreign breads here, but it's probably not the place to go for a reasonably priced loaf of Warburton's. They also sell exciting fizzy drinks from all over the world, baklava, mango lassi and every herb, spice, bean or pulse you could think of, all of which I can recommend. Things that I have purchased from here and regretted include tinned palak paneer, a tray of 30 very unethical eggs, weird smelling incense, cheese and DIY henna. As a vegetarian I've never looked at the meat counter. But I know that my Muslim flatmate bought her meat there as it is all Halal and my Chinese flatmates bought their meat there because they sold all the disgusting-sounding parts of animals that they liked to boil up in stews, such as chicken feet. I challenge you to visit Worldwide and not to come away with more than you went in for. Even the fruit and veg is priced so that you end up with 3 cucumbers (£1) rather than the one (50p) you went in for!

Remember that it's not only Indian restaurants in Rusholme. Okay, so most of them are curry houses, and that's reflected in the fact that Worldwide Foods is mostly Indian, but you're just as likely to find your Turkish flatbreads or your Jerk seasoning here as you are your Patak's pastes and poppadoms. But you'll find so much more. As I found out far too late on the way out, there's a massive fresh produce fruit and veg stall at the back. There's also a Halal butchers, and tons of stuff you've probably never heard of. We picked up some unusual little treasures like miniature crisp puri breads with cumin seeds, like tiny poppadoms, sweet buns made with sesame seeds and egg, and crumbly shortbread-like biscuits with coconut and topped with chopped pistachio and almonds. In fact, if you're as unfamiliar with ethnic sweets as I am, you may well spend most of your time in the cookie aisle to pick up new treats. As well as this there are additional niche items like rose syrup (for faluda methinks), tropical drinks, every kind of Bombay mix you can think of, canned goods and tons of pulses and rice... just do what I did and explore. The first time I went I was spoilt for choice and couldn't quite decide and a really friendly guy helped me out and asked what the occasion was, what kinds of things I like and told me to get the lemon and garlic chicken it was divine! I also have tried the salt and pepper ribs and minted lamb shank all absolutely incredible. There is ample parking as you would expect. The meat is local sourced and of an outstanding quality, I can't believe I used to waste my hard earned money on cheap supermarket meat, the difference in taste is all too obvious. The veg is also local sourced and surprisingly cheap, the veg will stay fresh for much longer than supermarket bought produce. The shop also sells local bread, orangic squash, chilli jam, chilli sauce, eggs, preserves and other organic produce. The Staff are cheerful and are always happy to help.

That means that I am loath to rely on the anaemic slabs of water-pumped, antibiotic-addicted chicken that line the fridges of Messrs Tesco and Saino. Yeah, I'll use them if they're going to be smothered and pulverised in a slow-cooked stew or curry. But if I'm braising a lamb shank or searing a fillet steak, I want quality. Axons, my friends, is quality. There's no denying it. Back when I lived in ye olde Didsy-B, I would scrape my pennies and every now and then I'd pop to Axons and treat myself to a particularly plump breast of corn-fed chicken, or a devastatingly juicy sirloin. The venison on offer here (seasonably, obvio) is truly incredible. Dense, dark and just that right amount of dank pungency. I honestly haven't had venison that good since I ate at a weird hunting lodge in teh Czech Republic. I am actually salivating right now, imagining that meat. The meat here is obviously more expensive than at the supermarket, but not prohibitively so. Expect to pay about a quid more for your workaday meats such as mince, but seeing as their mince has less fat and crap in it, you're getting about twice as much real meat. When it comes to meat, you get what you pay for, so please pay for the good stuff. Your tummy will thank you (even if Bambi doesn't...)

This butchers is quite nice and for me stands out in terms of quality, although inside it feels a little small and squashed they do have a good selection of meat from cooked meat to chicken to sausages. They do also have gluten free sausages which they make on request, they are quite nice and it tastes like a good sausage in terms of quality, with a lack of fat too. One of my main issues here is the price, it is expensive but still you have got to pay that for the quality, but still I can't help but feel some items are a little pricey. The gluten free sausages are some of the best I've had, I normally ask for mine with extra herbs and black pepper, and they both taste and look fresh, with gluten free food normally not taking as nice, Lords do it on a whole new level to make it seem like a sausage which did contain gluten, but they are gluten free. The location is decent, yet it is slightly hidden towards the back/end of Middleton Gardens, opposite Wetherspoons in such a small spot, perhaps a bigger place to allow more customers to move about and to show their great range of products in a better manner might be something Lords should look to in the future. I'm struggling rating this place, on one hand I want to give a high rating as they probably do the best gluten free sausages I have tasted, but on another I feel certain issues with the room inside the shop and pricing mean it deserves a slightly lower rating, and because of this I feel Lords of Middleton for now deserve a very high three star rating, but I hope to move towards a four in the near future

I remember only a quater about the place i would go there again but it sadly became permanently closed in 2017. Only one visit i had before it shut. But i think as i baby the service was pretty good i think. Ambiance is fine i guess but lonely and quiet. I didnt get food but my mum loved food such as meat and stuff there. I dont remember too much of my experience there as a baby. All i know is that my mum enjoyed it there.

On top of this, they do have a bit of a roaring lunch trade - lots of muffins with anything you want on, burgers and kebabs and in their hot counter they also have home made chilli, cottage pie and potato pie.
