PURE CLASS, and TRUE HUMANITARIAN, QUALITY CARE AND STAFF…read more I waited a few months post-op to give this review. I'm blessed to have Dr Leavitt as my eye care specialist and surgeon. The staff here also reflects the leadership at Cascade Eyecare Center, as they say "it all rolls downhill, for better of for worse", and it's definitely for the better here. I cannot recall, or know all their names, but a few- Cassandra in the eyeglass section who ordered a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for my wife's birthday, Sara (one of Dr Leavitt's assistants), and Tiffany at the payment and scheduling window- and those whose names I don't know or cannot recall, please forgive me. I had cataract surgeries on both my eyes and the resulting restoration of quality eyesight in my case is STUNNING, and I'm ever-grateful to Dr Leavitt and his staff, including those in their surgery center. ABSOLUTELY TOP-SHELF. Point being, QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY. NO photos here....and your personal mileage and results may vary, but I went from just hideous vision....to not needing prescription lenses whatsoever, and only use 1.25 readers for very, very VERY small detail work or reading minuscule things. 98-99% of the time I need no help. Again, I'm grateful. Thank you Jesus, and thank you Cascade Eyecare Center.

I had the eye exam on 9/3025 and it took until 12/30/25 to actually get the glasses because of her not doing her job correctly. I have gone there about 20+years and this was not the first time she would not bill VSP correctly. I am praying for her because it's very obvious there is something not right in her life. She can destroy Cascade eye center if she doesn't stop her outrageous actions, or maybe she should not work there. It would be nice if she, or someone would at least apologize.

My new one was transplanted by Dr. Oliva on June 4th, 2024 still going strong 6+ months Later. I feel very grateful to have such a skilled professional working on my eyes. He was seen at the medical Eye Center in May and found that he needed cataract surgery. We needed to do that after the six month mark from the heart surgery. So we made an appointment in August one week after the six month mark. The morning of our appointment in August they called and canceled it because we need a clearance from the doctor. I don't know exactly why is it that we could not have been told this in May, June or July? Why so cavalierly waste our time over something that they knew ahead of time they needed? It's not respectful it's not efficient and it's definitely no way to treat people.

I had the prescription glasses made only problem was no difference in my right eye vision. Dr. Young and Christa Cavanaugh, PA-C , are fine practitioners that consistently deliver sound medical advice and treatment. This is instead an issue of inconvenience and inconsideration. Upon making an appointment with this group (most generally with the PA, Christa Cavanaugh) - What follows is a barrage of messages that begin sometimes 6 to 8 weeks prior to the appointment to remind you that your appointment is coming. And they usually involve having you click on something to confirm that you acknowledge that you have the appointment. They always request that you come 15 minutes early even if you've been coming regularly every six months or the last time you were seen was only a few weeks prior. If there's ever any paperwork that can be filled out online I always do that just to avoid having to do anything else there. Consequently when I check in, there is nothing for me to do but sit down and wait. I realize that they don't want patients failing their appointments or arriving late, and that they value their practitioners time. (They make a point of stating in their countless reminder texts, that failure to make the appointment may result in a fee of $25.00.) Consequently, when we come to the office, my husband and I are always at least 15 to 20 minutes early. Unfortunately...it has NEVER failed that we have had to wait usually a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes to be seen. There is never an apology. There is never any kind of communication or an explanation as to why she was late or at least an acknowledgment that I had been waiting. Consequently, I usually try to make my appointments early so that I'm the first patient, and even in those cases I've had Christa stroll in to the exam room almost 20 minutes late and I was her first patient! It's just annoying to me that while an office and their practitioners consider their time valuable, they consistently demonstrate a total disregard for mine.

Dr. A. has a great big heart combined with tremendous expertise and experience. I have a challenging set of eyes. I began developing myopia in the third grade (and I'm 74 now). It got up to 10 1/2 dpt in one eye and 11 dpt in the other. That's a lot of myopia. In the mid-80s an ophthalmologist told me that radial keratotomy was the safest procedure I could have to correct my myopia. I think he told me what he believed to be true but, unfortunately, I ended up with possibly more scar tissue on my cornea than anyone in the world. Scar tissue impairs one's vision because when you're looking through scar tissue things are distorted. It did correct my myopia but the problem then became distorted vision due to scar tissue Arrrrgh. I worked with it because what else can you do? I developed really dark cataracts, which were corrected by Dr. Matt Oliva at Medical Eye Center. Because of other challenges with my eyes, my cataract surgery was more complex than what is typical. I got a very good result. Later I developed macula or myopial degeneration in my left eye. Dr. Oliva referred me to a retinal specialist in Medical Eye Center. I then began receiving what I would call assembly line medicine. They would switch doctors out on me, change my appointments with no warning and, ultimately, one of the technicians refused to use saline solution after I received a shot in my eye for macular degeneration. That did it! I asked friends for referrals, which is how I found my way to Dr. A. All of the referrals recommended Retina Care Center and Dr. A. Every word I was told has proven to be true. I have worked with Dr. A. for almost a year since I left Medical Eye Center because I felt I was not receiving good medical care. I certainly receive outstanding care here with Dr. A. and everyone else I've worked with. I love these folks!!!

I would like to thank Dr. Lisa Leishman and the entire Retina Care Center team for their excellent…read morecare, efficiency, and compassion in handling my husband's retinal detachment. Out of the blue last year he suffered a macula-off retinal detachment because of a tear on the far outer edge of his eye. He had never experienced any vision problems prior to this, so when he started to see extra floaters in his right eye he thought perhaps it was stress-related. About a week later his vision started to get blurry and he was seeing a dark curtain coming in from the corner of his vision. We went to our optometrist who literally immediately sent us to Retina Care Center. It was late afternoon on a Friday (of course!) but the team stayed to receive my husband's case. Both Dr. Leishman and Dr. AufderHeide examined his eye and finally found a tear on the far outer edge. Vitrectomy surgery was scheduled for the following morning and was performed by Dr. Leishman. It was completely unexpected and a scary time for both of us, but the whole RCC team was just so helpful, professional, and positive throughout. His recovery required being face-down for many weeks, and Dr. Leishman made herself available by phone at all hours to answer questions and guide us through all the uncertainty during that time. It turned out my husband needed a second surgery two months after the first one, so our lives were upended for a good six months... but the RCC team is such a well-oiled machine that everything was handled so smoothly with both surgeries at Ashland Hospital and then all the way through what seem like endless follow-up appointments as they kept very close tabs on the healing process. It has been one year since the second surgery and thankfully his eye is holding up well. He now has a much stronger prescription for his glasses, and still sees a few persistent "pepper" floaters, but otherwise he is seeing just fine. We feel SO fortunate that we ended up in Dr. Leishman's care -- and "care" is the operative word, she is very kind and clearly cares about her patients and ensuring the best outcome for them. Thank you, Dr. Leishman, we are eternally grateful to you and your team!
