They tack on unnecessary charges like contact fitting...for the exact same contact I've been using for years. Really? Of course, there is the $65 fee for the retinal scan scam. They guilt you into the retinal scan. I could have bought contacts online for less. I'll not be using Insight Vision ever again. They just look for any BS reason to charge you $$$.

They are disorganized in the least. It cost us a lot more than it should've as we then went somewhere else to get our needs met. We told them we wouldn't be back, and they still call us for our "scheduled appointments," and we have to tell them all over again. When we called to say that was the insurance amount, they told us they have a year to bill us. We paid close to $300 they told us we would owe after the insurance which was inaccurate, and now we are paying what insurance should've covered and they are outside the year to fix it with insurance. Surely they could eat the $66 they are telling us to pay after the amounts they have cost us.

I recently went to this office for my routine eye exam. I essentially have 20/20 vision and only…read morevisit to check my overall eye heath AND because I get the annual eye exam free as a part of my health benefits. When I checked in, the receptionist asked for both my health card and my vision card--which I provided. At check out, the receptionist informed me I owed them a $10 co-pay to which I responded "No, according to your insurance, this is not a covered service. You owe us $10." And she very rudely shoved a piece of paper in my face with $10 highlighted in purple. I paid the $10 and went back to my office and contacted my internal human resources to see why we're now being charged for something that should've/always was free...to my surprise IS covered on our plan and the office didn't file it with my health insurance but instead filed it with the vision. Totally understandable error--so I thought! I immediately called the office back and got an answering machine, so I left a message thinking someone would call me back. NOPE. No return call. So, I call again! Leslie answers the phone and was the same person who shoved the paper in my face...rudely rebuffing the claim they didn't file correctly and then said "Well, we're not a part of your network! You're with First Health!" (Which I am not.) I attempted to clarify that is only for outside the state of Kansas and like a poorly programmed robot, Leslie had zero desire to hear anything other than "NO NO NO NO NO." I ended the call with "Ok, I guess I'll call my insurance and check with them, but I am positive it's not that network and you are in network." Less than 3 minutes later I get off the phone with the insurance to find out they ARE in network, according to the insurance company, and NO Olathe Family Vision did not attempt to file this with insurance because it would've been covered at a $0 cost. Once more, I call back, and Chanel answers the phone. She played a game of telephone between myself and Leslie--where Leslie insisted I am in the First Health network (*spoiler alert,* still not in that network, regardless of what she wants to think). Chanel says "We need to talk to someone else who handles our insurance, Leslie says we're not in that network either. We'll call you back." So here I am, still out the $10. Clock still ticking on the amount of calls and time I've invested to try and get someone to respond. Just avoid this small rinky-dink office and try somewhere else! It's not worth the headache.

I felt like I was walking into a home with the well decorated walls and subtle smell of vanilla in the air. The ladies at the front desk got me signed in and in a little ahead of my schedules appointment. I saw Dr. Melissa Hahn. She was friendly and gave me several free samples of eye drops and contact solution. She took time to answer my questions, not hurrying me at all. This week I ordered my contacts and their pricing was competitive with 1-800contacts. Overall it was a good experience and I scheduled an appointment for my husband.

I have unique vision problems and she is so patient with me and answers all my questions with clarity. After my last visit to her office, she took her time to research for me which visual assistive equipment (out of thousands available in the market) would help me better based on my needs and lifestyle. The office sent me a text with her recommendation. My wife is also completely satisfied with the level of service at Whitesell. The first pair of glasses were not helping her with her visual needs. A much better vibe than our previous eye doctor in Leawood. Let me start by saying Dr. Niebuhr is amazing! I told her my complaints of wearing contacts and how they felt on my eyes. She did her magic (took measurements) and gave me a sample pair and the rest is history. Apparently I have different vision per eyeball and more of an astigmatism on my left. So far so good, I don't even feel them in my eyes at all! My previous doc said I had the same vision in both eyes but for whatever reason i still had the same complaints that my eyes just wouldn't cooperate and I would get headaches frequently while wearing contacts. Now I know why! ‍ Luckily a friend recommended Grin eye care a few months ago and I think I found our new family eye doctor! I'll be sure to follow up if things start to go south...

I have gone to Dr Grin for my lasik and he did a fantastic job. I no longer have to wear contacts and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The staff is always nice and friendly and I can typically get in when I need to. They do get booked up fast so I would make an appointment a couple of months in advance.

I now remember why I stopped going in the first place. The doctor's mother runs the office along with a sister and maybe brother? Her mom doesn't know how to talk to customers or go out of her way to help them. I'm tired of dealing with her every time I go. It's the number one reason I won't be back. The number two reason is because 20 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, there were 4 people waiting in front of me to see her. And she was still seeing a 5th patient while we were all just waiting. Staff is unwelcoming and the wait was enough for me to walk out and make an appointment elsewhere. I will say, the doctor herself is friendly. And If she had better staff and time management, she'd be a great one to go back to every year.
