I agree completely with the overwhelming negative postings on this poor excuse for a store. Walmart corporate needs to take a serious evaluation of the management and personnel at this location. Three for three carts tried were nearly unusable, floors were cluttered with unstocked product and appeared dirty. I found no meat section and very little that would pass as produce. But, the icing on the cake was when we attempted to check out, and I ran the twelve pack of beer I was buying across the scanner. As usual, the machine told me I needed attendant intervention to proceed, and I had my license pulled out before the attendant arrived. She looked at my license and compared the picture to my sixty year old face to her satisfaction, and then without batting an eye, looked over at my wife and asked to see her license also. With I'm sure a very befuddled look on my face, I explained to her that I was making the purchase, and my wife's identification was not needed. I was informed that the ID for all who were with me needed to be verified before I would be allowed to purchase the beer, per New Mexico law, and that it did not matter how many people I had with me. I told my wife to leave the store and I would finalize the purchase alone. I was then informed that would also be impossible because they had seen us together. Ironically she also told me that if I was with minors instead of adults, they would of course not need identification, since they would obviously have none. I asked for her manager to straighten out this madness. She looked over her shoulder to another young lady some twelve feet away, and said this was her boss. She hollered out to her my issue and was quickly answered back a confirmation that, yes, this is the law, and they could go to jail if all our IDs were not confirmed. So I had the choice, cave to this idiotic interpretation of the law, and produce our papers, or leave everything sitting there, and walk away from this mad house. In hindsite, I regret the decision i made, but i complied with these two little Nazis, and showed them my wife's license. Never will i make that mistake again, and never will i step foot in that store in the future. These young ladies were dumber than the Adobe bricks that make the buildings of Taos, and arrogant and self righteous as hell. Are you listening Waltons? I sure hope so. read more
