Visited Walmart at Guildford Town Centre, Store 3098, March 7, 2025. I occasionally shop here. After I completed my payment, the display screen showed a ratings page with five blank stars. The sales associate leaned over the screen and pressed 5 stars. As I never had a chance to read the content, I don't know what the staff had rated without my consent. If the Walmart manager is reading this, please note this happened at 11:02:04 a.m., Terminal ID WMTUP013637. Part of the receipt is attached. Is it time to limit these on-screen evaulations at the POP? read more

When have I ever seen a Walmart and thought, "Oh, this structure kind of reminds me of the Louvre"? Well, I thought those words after seeing this Walmart. Apologies, I don't have anything of significance to write here and just wanted to note the exterior of the building was nice/different. They have all the items you'd expect to find in a Walmart. Ending up purchasing some chip flavors unique to Canada and stocking up on water. read more

Went to Guildford Walmart with my wife and 2 sons (6 & 8) to surprise them with a PS5. They were overjoyed. Walmart had me sign the receipt confirming it was sealed (the little sticker in the middle you see on the picture was in tact, so I signed off on the receipt). I come home and open the box to find garbage (fast food wrappers, old paper towels etc) in the box. I contact the Walmart immediately without opening the rest, within 45 minutes of purchasing it, and am told to come back to the store. I arrive at the store within 1.5 hours of purchase, and one of the CS reps says its not normal practice for them to have me sign that it is sealed. The manager opens the wrapped up system, and finds an old banged up PS3 inside. I am shocked. I speak to 2 managers, who ask me to call Sony and they will investigate themselves, but in the meantime they cannot issue an exchange. I call Sony, and they tell me that since it was purchased from Walmart, there is nothing they can do. I call Walmart the next day, and the same 2 managers that say they will investigate, say, because I signed that it was sealed (it was as the sticker was intact), they will not be issuing a refund/exchange. My 6 and 8 year old are now confused, and instead of being excited, are trying to understand why we are not getting our money back or the PS5 that we paid for. Absolutely horrible experience. I have reached out to head office and regional managers and plan to escalate this if it is not resolved. read more

Guildford Walmart . I avoid this store as much as possible. Due to the bad customer service, lack of product and terrible line ups. However, I had a medical appt. Sat. morning. My husband collected a few items well waiting for me. We got in a line and noticed the cashier looking overwhelmed, with her 3 people in line with full buggies, so we went to self check out. We were shocked to see a line up of 9 people ahead of us. 2 staff standing blocking the majority of closed stalls, literally doing nothing and 6 tills only open. WTH? self check out? 30 stalls? finally we went to a check out stall, one worker says oh that till is out of service . so 5 only open now 14 people in line behind us. 1 till open with the flustered worker. and almost 30 self check outs closed? What in the world is going on Walmart? Do Better! read more

absolutely terrible. the staff is just standing around like they don't know what they're doing. only two people doing tills and they're literally ancient and moving at a sloths pace. Ladies in the self checkout are too involved looking at ugly babies to help anyone, or just standing there ignoring you. would LOVE to give no stars. read more

Don't get me started with this place. I despise having to go inside and grab anything. The staff are incompetent and lack any sort of customer service. Walmart only hires people to take your money and that is all. Yes, Walmart's prices are cheaper, but so is your customer experience. read more

I do occasionally stop by this Walmart as it is located in the mall. The store is usually messy like most locations and you barely find any staff outside the cashier or customer service sections. There are some items that are cheaper than other big box stores. Usually, I stop by to buy toys for kids' birthdays as it is definitely cheaper than other stores. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews as I don't believe in bringing down establishments, but I strongly felt the need to in this case. One of the worst customer service I've ever encountered and it was at the Surrey Guilford Walmart's "customer service" counter. You would expect of all places in Walmart, you would get the most assistance there. NOPE. I called 2 hours prior to have something put on hold and waited in line 20 minutes to pickup it up. Now if they were busy with other customers, I wouldn't be complaining. It was because two employees (one named Megha) who stood there chatting away while scanning random items and obviously weren't helping anyone that really got me annoyed. Clearly they couldn't prioritize customers first and they sure took their sweet time with whatever they were doing. On top of that, after 10 minutes of waiting, I asked "Hello? Can someone please help me with a pickup?" and the response I got was "Yes, after we are done with this!" Not apologetically but rudely. Eventually, after all that waiting, she directed me to the bike "department" when I said I came from there and no one was in sight. She was adamant that I went there and so I walked back to the bike area again only to ask another staff who told me to go back to the Customer Service counter.. Seriously, does anyone at the store know any protocols? There is no cohesiveness in terms of store operations and definitely no respect nor pride in customer care. I don't know how Walmart trains their staff, but this is completely unacceptable. Do the community a favour and please re-train your staff, especially at a time like this when safety measures are of utmost importance. Unfortunately, I was in the store three times longer than I had to be had I wasn't given the run around. How can one expect to be treated with proper customer service let alone shop safely in that store? read more

Poor service. Even with their newly renovated store, they still lack good service. I understand that "groceries" are the least worried about customer service but that's what Walmart takes pride at. Several times have I gone to this branch and asked associates to help me look for what I need and ask for info about the product Im wanting to purchase. One time I went and shopped for film as I wanted to experiment with film photography but I was unfamiliar of what kind of film I should get. And so I approached this associate who is a big guy and asked which one I should take. The One with "200" or the one with "400". I was unsure of what these numbers mean but I was specifically wanting "faster" film. He just said "Just go 200".. and keeps answering "yeah that.." to my questions. He was slow, lazy and unresponsive. I dont even know why he works in that department if he was so unwilling to help and so unknowledgable about the products. Without me even finishing, he just walked away without saying anything and continued TEXTING. When I bought the film saying "200", I had to return the next day just to exchange it for a "400" one. If he doesnt know anything, he couldve just said so or at least show some respect and not waste my time. read more

This location has always had poor customer service, and the new store is no better. Why have so many tills and keep most of them closed while customers spend 15 -20 minutes standing in line? It has improved over the original store in some regards, but it is still one of worst Walmart locations I have been in. read more

I haven't been to Guildford for the longest time and when was the old Walmart destroyed and replaced by a Supercentre with its own covered parking lot?!?!?! It's all too Coquitlam Ikea-esque I had to do a double-take. Alas, it is real. My last experience with a Walmart Supercentre was stocking up cheap food and random dealios on a road trip in the good ol' U.S. of A. Similarly, the Guildford locations feels like it's got everything under the sun... and more. In the food section (my main interest anyway), there are aisles upon aisles of processed food goodness (badness?!). Prices seem to be comparable to Superstore, some cheaper, some not. The selection of fresh veggies/fruits are not so impressive, and prices noticeably higher than competitors (Superstore, T&T). Methinks I'll be making trips here once in a while.... for junk food. Hang head in shame. read more

My husband & I bought a small speaker that we had to wait at checkout to get the electronic "spider wrap" off, went home & he opened right away to a clearly damage used speaker. I went back to the store to return it & was told by a young rude customer rep after I showed her why I was returning it, that "Walmart does not sell used or damage goods" and I would have to wait for someone from Electronics to look at it. I told her I just purchased it 40 mins ago and I wanted my refund. She said no I would have to wait, I demanded to speak to a manager. Miss Rude phoned and spoke to someone and said I was here an hour ago I said I was there 40 mins ago! Of course she ignored me, then a manager shows up and says the same thing about waiting for Electronics! I said get me someone who can refund me my $90.00 now! Meanwhile Cathy from Electronics phones miss rude and says she is all alone and cannot come up to customer service that I should go down there and wait in line! I then raised my voice and said no way I was waiting 30 mins for my refund that looked at this point they were not going to give me. I told the both of them that they should take it down there themselves and just give me my refund. Finally another manager shows up glances at the speaker and the receipt & told miss rude she was here 40 mins ago give her the refund & walks away. Miss rude puts the refund through and throws my receipt at me! Guildford Walmart I'm done shopping at your store!! Treating paying customers that spend $400 a week shopping there like that! Disrespectful & rude. read more

Walmart is my favourite place to go to find groceries, movies and make up. This location however doesn't have a lot when it comes to vegetarian food. The lines ups are long but they are very organized and are able to get the line moving with a reasonable speed. The hospitality is average. read more

So i did a second grocery order for pick up. The second time around was not so pleasant. I picked the between 4-5pm time slot. I arrived at 420. I called the number but no one picked up. I tried calling the store customer service line as well no one picked up. By 430 i was annoyed so i went inside to customer service. I waited around for 10 minutes and they were still sorting it out so i went back to my car. I didnt get my groceries until 5 pm. That was 40 minutes of my time wasted. I probably could have went in and shopped faster myself. So much for convenience. By the time i got my groceries i was livid and didnt even want to talk to them as i had nothing nice to say. read more

I usually don't review grocery stores but the staff here are very unfriendly and super lazy. Todays experience at walmart was terrible I was looking for the portable stove top and was not able to find it in the appliance section. So I do what anyone who can't find what their looking for does. which is ask. so i ask 3 different people one person points me from when i was in the kitchen applianced section down to the automotive section thats the opposite side she doesn't even bother telling me which aisle. Disappointed in the terrible customer service maybe today is inventory day im not quite sure but im definitely not coming back staff run away from you when your about to approach them. read more

Walmart Guildford Centre in Surrey showed 4 Emtec 512GB External SSD's on stock. I called the store and a guy named Roman who works in the electronics department found 2. Roman said he cannot reserve it for me. Roman said it's not going to be sold out right away anyway. Roman saw the price in-store ($39) and he told me that it's not the same online ($162.69). In my mind, that is why i wanted the drive because it is on sale. I went to the store twice because i left my wallet the first time, i live in Port Coquitlam. When i asked a lady, she said they don't have any in stock. I told her that i just spoke to Roman earlier on the phone and he said that they have 2 on hand. I saw Roman just as he was about to go on his break, he said that they got sold out. I complained to the front-end manager (Sonika) that Walmart has a reputation where their employees reserve the items for themselves after they've learned that the item(s) are on sale. Sonika said she will tell her manager, i don't know which manager she will tell to if she is already a manager. I already debated to myself if i should just go to the store without calling first so as not to alert the employees of the sale price and reserve it for themselves but i called ahead anyway. I just wasted time, effort and gas for the 2 trips and came home empty handed. Lesson learned, do not call Walmart to check for stock, just go there asap. Don't ever shop at Walmart, their employees are dishonest and crooked. If i was given a choice, i won't even give them a star but Yelp won't let me post without clicking a star. read more

I would give this Walmart a rating of 0/5 if I could. This Walmart has the worst customer out of any Walmart I've ever been to! I bought a TV from this Walmart and when I took it home, the screen was cracked. I was a little upset, but it wasn't a big deal. I thought I could just take it back and exchange it. When I go to exchange the TV, they wouldn't take the TV back! They said the serial number of the TV and and box don't match! I told them that Walmart's negligence is not our fault and the store manager there accused me of lying and being thief! I told all the customers around the truth about what happened and the arrogant manager threatened to call security for "causing a scene," when really I was only warning people to be cautious of these thieves at Walmart. I am now out $300 and will never get it back! This is the worst customer service I've received in my life and will be going to the media about this issue and possible take legal action. NEVER BUY ANYTHING OF HIGH VALUE FROM WALMART! ESPECIALLY FROM THE WALMART AT GUILFORD TOWN CENTER! read more

This wal-mart like the others have prison like lighting, unfriendly staff and it makes me feel sick, no shopping ambiance. The only reason I came here was to get a storage box that I saw on-line at a decent competitive price for $15.01. I was literally in and out of the store in less than 20 minutes. No desire to spend any longer than needed. Nothing worth browsing for either. read more

The escalators are moving in the wrong direction! The escalators here are on British rules left-hand driving, not North American right of way. It's a walmart. Why people write reviews is beyond me, and it says more about the sad individuals writing them than it does about walmart. Seriously, reviewing a walmart? Yeah, good prices and selection. What more needs to be said. These reviewers are embarrassing. read more

Had horrible customer service experience with this Guildford Walmart. They advertised things online, and in their flyer that they had something in stock and then of course they don't in the store. Some of the staff seem totally uninterested. I called and talked to the manager on duty named "Eugene" who was so rude to me on the phone it was shocking. I wrote a letter to head office and never heard back from them and it's been almost 3 weeks now. Guess they don't care if they have managers who are incompetent and who try and pass the buck. Won't ever shop here again. read more

I have been a high volume customer at the Walmart South Surrey location for over 5 years and am now moving home to Ottawa. Generally everything at this pharmacy is somewhere between average and good. However, one person was GREAT! Wai Wai is a Pharmacy Tech and has looked after me for years, she stayed on top of my drugs, never let the prescriptions run out, she would call me when it was time for me to get refills and she always said things in a nice and kind way.... This world can use more Wai Wai's for sure. One of the top 10 things I will miss about BC is Wai Wai..... Thank you for looking after me. Len Harris read more

My step dad came to this Walmart in the afternoon as it's 2 mins away and tried to buy toilet paper but of course like all places there out of stock. Shocker isn't it, back room staff told us to come back at 7pm and we came back at 9:30pm and still shelves are empty, we went to one of the guys that uses the pallet jacks and said sorry ppl keep going at it so we're putting more out at the end of closing so come back in the morning, we have jobs to go to, we don't have time to take off so we can come get one pack of toilet paper as RIGHT NOW we don't have any because other ppl are selfish and don't care about other ppl. We tried to talking to customer service and a assistant manger named Kim and she told us way differently, "we don't have anymore right now as if we bring the pallet out it's injury to our staff" who the hell is getting injured, all we asked is to take your lazy butt and bring one pack of toilet paper is that so hard to ask for! Like grow up. I usually have a really bad temper but told myself Kim and the other staff here are not worth my time. Next time you seem to not want to help your customers don't open your store, just shut down. Will never be back!!! read more
