One of the first Walmarts that the Lower Mainland received. I remember when it first opened, this place was a true zoo. It still is the busiest place for Lougheed Mall, as the parking lot going into this place is always full, and revolving. The one thing I give props to is that this store has stock more than the other Walmarts, as it seems like the hoarders are located somewhere else, or this one just carries more stock when a big sale is going on. Sure this place has too entrances, one to the parking lot, and one toward the mall, so when a sale is going on, the product you may be looking for may be at the other entrance in a big pile. The one thing that really fascinates me, is looking at the ceiling here. If your at either end, just look at the layers and layers of halogen strips here, it seems to go on forever!

Very large walmart. We needed 12 pip dominos, and they had them. Self checkout was moving at a relatively good pace.

I seriously like the spicy sesame ramen, it reminded me a little of the Chinese dan dan noodles. It is rich and creamy and just a bit spicy. Yums. I can also get the chili flakes here, and curry paste, chips and rice crackers. It reminded me a little of the Isetan food section in Asia. The store is pretty big and you can get nifty gadgets which will help make life a little easier in the cleaning bit. There are also plenty of cutesy stationery like in Asia. Located on the second level of The City of Lougheed (aka Lougheed Town Centre) before the re-development, Oomomo, has a very welcoming store front and entrance, merchandise are well displayed and divided into different sections by categories. I am really impressed that this location also carries a large selection of Japanese style dinnerwares, most of them are at the $2.00 mark as well!! If you fancy a higher grade of dinnerwares they also carry a good selection of porcelain bowls & cups etc. I also like the extensive selection of kitchen gadgets and also baking needs, they also carry cake boxes!! (there selections is as extensive if not more then the ones I saw in Hong Kong!). Absolutely a great addition to this mall, which is going through a huge change and I am sure with all the renovation done, this will be an interesting shopping mall for locals and alike!

The food court had a great choice of Chinese, Persian, Indian, Japanese, fast food etc. The ramen noodle soup - Chashu Tonkotsu ($15.45 inc.) at the "Nikko Teriyaki" i had here was just excellent. There was a public library with free access to computer resources and career services too. Generally it's a shopping centre in upgrades. A Tim Horton's coffee shop was just at the entrance through to the Lougheed Sky Train station. Many banks services available at the other end of the mall.

The Plaza has been a popular shopping and dining spot for us over a good many years. The actual tenants locating there come & go though, but over the years, vacancies have always been rather quickly refilled, and the Plaza always seems to remain "active & alive" with a varied selection of offerings. For the past few years, for us, it has become a more important location for dining, than much shopping -- at various Chinese and Korean restaurants, which have come and gone over time -- 'Mr Ho Wonton', 'Friend's BBQ', and 'Hanok Korean' have left, but 'Yan's Garden', and 'Jong Ga Korean' remain -- and recently, a couple of new-to-the-Plaza additions, and not tried by us as yet -- 'Yan's Cafe' (a noodle house, located where 'Hanok Korean' used to be), and 'Ajuker Fried Chicken' (located where 'Friend's BBQ' used to be). Spa's - the more upscale 'Juillet Beauty Centre' is a relatively new comer, and one I have never tried (but did pop in for a peak and some info one morning). I used to enjoy great massages at a small beauty salon (I believe it was called 'Blondie's'). There's also 'Lucky Feet Massage & Reflexology' there now, but it's also one I have not tried as yet. My shopping within the Plaza was the most active when I first moved into this neighbourhood. Shops like 'Vandersteen's TV & Stereo', and 'Salvation Army Thrift Store' were located there at that time, and were popular browsing/shopping spots. For me, especially 'Vandersteen's', which became a favoured spot for browsing latest offerings in audio, video, and other home electronics gear - and where I purchased 'most everything I 'needed/wanted' for several years. Looking to try 'Ajuker Fried Chicken' - hoping to get back to 'Jong Ga' - and know we'll get back to 'Yan's Garden'.

And heh, when a store gets better and better over time - with product offerings, and customer service - it's a pleasure acknowledging this with an updated review. Like I said previously - "everything, and more" - and now, even more!! The staff are so innovative in utilizing the space they have, and more and more products have become available over the years. They still carry a wide-range of odds & ends items - we seek from time to time - but as well, and appreciated, so many other useful household and related items, and even some staples, that are required on a more frequent basis (including food and drink products). And it's still my lady's favourite place for puzzle and word books, some craft supplies, and related). The customer service - I (we) have never experienced the high level of help and assistance delivered here at any other similar store. For me - it works with helpful 'finding something' assistance as required. For my lady though, much more - helpful finding of items, assistance with carrying to check-out, packing, and such - and all so appreciated!! This is a 'Dollar Store', not a Supermarket, or such!! I said we were happy to have such a place in our neighbourhood. I can now emphasize that a touch, and bump up their overall rating -- with 'yes', we are fans!! Thanks guys - you do, what you do so well, and it's appreciated!
