I've been to a few Walmarts and this one is pretty good. Very middle of the road with a clean parking lot, empty cart corrals and a tidy store. I spent most of my time in the grocery section, finding what I needed as far as snacks for the road. At the registers, a short queue for the self-checkouts and no problems with the machines. I've seen better stocked shelves and I've seen shorter lines at the registers but I've also seen lots worse. This store is A-OK. STAY AWAY. There is no way that this isn't the worst WalMart in all of America. For years, I've put up with the fact that it's dirty, that employees have no pride of place, and are busy on their phone, that there are one or zero registers open and I've still spent money here. No more. Today was the icing on the cake. From here on out, I will be driving 1.5 extra hours to get my groceries at regular grocery stores. Not only did they have their usual problem of employees just standing around, waiting for the frigging rapture, but they couldn't even be bothered to open ALL or even HALF of the self checkout registers. So, on a Saturday afternoon, there are four lanes of people waiting to check out, all wrapped around the store to hell and back. People can't even shop or navigate the front of the store due to the crowding and chaos up front. The only reason worth going here is to say "hi" to the super-nice, veteran greeter. He's cool. I was recently robbed by Walmart! Purchased a DVD set named Vacation with Chevy Chase. It was only $15 and it turns out it plays like someone filmed the movies off their tv in a living room somewhere!!! Picture quality is like a snowy tv in the 70s and the picture shakes like the camera could not be held steady! Guess what... NO RETURNS!! Terrible everything. When I went into Walmart twice this week there was no disinfectant and no hand wipes anywhere. I told the lady at the door they were out and she said they had been out for several days. They are letting people walk out the door without checking their baskets and I even saw people come from the opposite direction of the cash register's going straight out the front door with unbagged merchandise. The lady at the door was so busy with her iPad that she didn't see them walk past her. Walterboro has the worst Walmart branch I have ever been to. We travel a lot and have been to more than 100 Walmart's but this one doesn't deserve the 1 star I gave it. But it wouldn't let me comment without giving it at least one star. I'm in here all the time. Today's visit was a pretty good. They are really ready for Valentine's Day. Tons of balloons and gifts. This store always seems to be busy. I gets pretty hectic in here and I can't stand to be in here to long or I get frustrated with all the jumble of people. I can't really say the employees are good or bad, because I've gotten some really good ones and some really bad ones. It isn't really fair to group them all together. Today was a good one though. Our cashier was sweet to my son and very friendly with me. Despite the crowd, it's still a good one-stop-shop, especially in Walterboro. read more

This Walmart is my home town location, which makes it my go-to spot for most everyday essentials. This Walmart is pretty middle of the pack. Not much brag or complain about. I will say that I did think the employees did a good job organizing "Black Friday". Yes, I was one of those lunatics that ventured out after eating Thanksgiving dinner to go shopping the deals. The employees did a good job of making an unenjoyable shopping experience, less terrible. They kept the crowd/lines moving pretty organized and smooth. With not a ton of shopping options in Walterboro, this is a good option. read more

I hate this Walmart! The people that work in this store are rude and not helpful at all. When you go into pick up a photo from the photo department they expect YOU to go locate someone to Come help you. I have never seen a Walmart So unorganized and paid workers not willing to Help as much as this Walmart. You ask where something is and you get the "I don't know" answer. I am smiling at the customer reviews that give the warning:"stay away!" if they only knew what goes on in the receiving end in the back of the store, I worked there unloading trucks and it's a revolving door of workers quitting because they can't take it anymore. After unloading two or three trucks we had to process the merchandise, stack it on pallets drag them through the store and stack the shelves. In addition we were navigated all over the store doing three additional jobs for the minimum pay of one , I lost 15 pds in three months of working there like a slave and I quit after being asked to keep working for additional hrs after I clocked out. My Christmas bonus was withheld because I transferred there from the savannah Walmart . They refused to give my tax accountant the information needed to file my taxes. Since I moved to this area, this Wal-mart has been a very poor example of Walmart stores. It is constantly under stocked and unclean bathrooms are the norm. Usually I overlook all these things and don't write an unfavorable review, but my most recent visit prompted me to write. The women's rest room at the front of the store was literally disgusting. There was a huge glob of hair on the floor between stalls. Also the back of the toilet was covered in urine. The trash cans were overflowing and the floor needed swept. The changing table is broken and has not been fixed for almost a year. A. Whole. Year. That means mothers have to trudge all the way to the family rest room at the back of the store just to change a diaper ! Unacceptable! read more

Huge store, overall as good as any Walmart. The attendants are great. We lost my grandma in there, who doesn't speak English and they tried to announce her name and tell her to come to a cashier in Portuguese. It didn't really work so they were kind enough to let me speak over the speaker and we found her! Thank you guys, y'all are great! read more

Stopped in for beach chairs (good selection & on sale), cups (limited selection), and soda/waters. It was a quick stop, we asked a manager about the cups and she was helpful -- albeit confirming there was a small selection. Note, it has a bizarre layout...not even a reverse layout, something altogether different?? I would've been lost if I was there for an all-out Walmart run. We needed to pick up a few things and get gas. Walmart is a great place to stop anytime your traveling and need supplies. And if you need gas they usually have the best price around. The day we went it was $2.02 for regular. And if you're an RV'er they let you stay in their parking lot free. There must have been 20 on the day we visited. Very good for business and a nice savings for the people who decide to stay there. read more

This place was a last minute stop on a road for some late Christmas shopping and I was thinking what a bad idea stopping at a Walmart at that time but to my surprise it wasn't bad at all??? We found a parking spot fairly close, walked inside and it wasn't really crowded and most importantly, it had more than the usual 2 registers open at one time. Over the weekend on my travels back from Florida to Ontario (Canada) I stopped off at one of your South Carolina locations. (2110 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC) I have severe life threatening food allergies and thought my safest option would be to make a sandwhich from items purchased at Walmart rather than eat out somewhere that I was unfamiliar with. I purchased buns, cold meat, and mustard from this location. I checked every ingredient of the items as I was out of country and have severe allergies, everything was fine. There were not even "may contain" ingredients on the package so I thought it would be safe to eat. I had an allergic reaction to the buns I ate that night, as they were incorrectly labelled. I had a severe allergic reaction and did not deserve to feel this way as I was very cautious of what I was eating. I have attached pictures of these buns, I would like to know what was put in them or on them incorrectly immediately. read more

Went to Walmart in walterboro SC to return push lawnmower that my husband purchased less than 6o days. Had the receipt and two rude women in customer service said their policy was 30 days for return. We had to load the lawnmower back in our truck. Called Walmart headquarters and explained there is online a 90 day return policy. Stayed in the phone for 39 minutes and said all Walmart stores leave return policies to their own discrepancy with each manager. I was told to call the manufacturer who said to take back to Walmart. Now we have a broken lawnmower and no one will exchange or refund our money. We are elderly and took a big risk entering this store just to be disappointed. The next day the management called and gave us a full refund on the lawnmower. Good customer service and good management. Thanks again Walmart in Walterboro. read more

LOL I am disabled and use the stores scooters to get around. I purchased a couple of small things tonight and a large item that could not be bagged. I was leaving the store and had anticipated being asked to see my receipt so had it ready when this woman wearing a heavy coat stopped me. I assume she was an employee just coming to work since I could not see her vest. I am not easily left speechless but she managed to do so when instead of asking to see my receipt she asked me if I had a buggy because I could not take the scooter out in the rain. LOL I was completely stumped by her question wondering just where she thought I would have a buggy hidden at. Well at least I got a good laugh out of my visit tonight. read more

If there was a ZERO I would give them that. ZERO. Terrible place and TERRIBLE Mgt. Wife and I Both senior citizens were cuffed and detained for some 3.5 hrs. while 2 police officers and Mgt of Walmart's (Johnny). I Ended up with DEEP groves in hands from cuffs being too tight. After they found us innocent of all charges the Walterboro Police officer wrote us 2 tickets for shoplifting and warned us to NEVER come in their store again so trespass warning was put in place. WE DID NOTHING WRONG! 2 lawsuits have since been filed. One against Walterboro PD and the other against Walmart's. WARNING.....this could happen to YOU! STAY AWAY! Been a customer for some 30 years. Actually did us a favor as we will NEVER shop ANY Walmart's again! Their JUNK they sell certainly isn't worth it !! All involved were black and wife and I are white.
