We got chicken salad which was very good. We enjoyed the beef pot pie. Since it was my birthday month I got a free slice of cake. You can sign up online and request either vanilla or chocolate cake. The frosting was very creamy. We also selected a few other sweet treats such as a strawberry shortcake, huckleberry cheesecake and a petit chocolate bomb. All were delicious. It's always crowded and packed here, especially with everyone "working from home." Seems to me a passel of 'em are working from the Aldi aisles and parking lot because they're always here! It's a great location, adjacent to the best barbershop in town (L&M). Without giving up ALL of my secrets, I'll just say that there are less crowded Aldi stores, but they don't have the self checkout option, which is fine because watching Aldi checkout magicians at an Aldi store is something to behold. Beware those middle aisles, they're full of great deals and things that I didn't know I needed until I saw them!

The decorations on top were pretty but when I took the cake out of the container, it appeared to be sliding off the base it sat on. It wasn't. The cake was lopsided...by a lot. Almost everyone (not me) laughed. Anyone ordering a cake from the Elizabethton Food City store be warned: Don't be the person who brings an expensive lopsided joke of a cake to the party.
